  • The business in the Ubiquitous era has to be developed by combing a traditional marketing concept with a new concept system on Chip. The objective of this paper is researching on the attention or interest, understanding, positive effects, etc., for Ubiquitous Computing to realize u-Korea and u-Business. The paper result which is the stepwise developing scheme of u-Business could be useful in the policy, publicity and education, strategic implementation of the Ubiquitous Computing. And the proposed new services for u-Commerce can be applied to new business model of future IT industry. Actually, the awareness and understanding about Ubiquitous are low, But, We can't overemphasize the value of Ubiquitous. First of all, The publicity and education about It's may have to be emphasized.

  • Context-based information services are required in ubiquitous application. In the ubiquitous application, ubiquitous commerce addresses information service that recommends items to consumers with the use of the situated contexts. This paper proposes a multi-context based information service for ubiquitous commerce. This enables a consumer to get multi-context based information efficiently by using consumer's attention for each context. The method is described and an ubiquitous commerce application prototype based on multi-context is presented. Several experiments are performed and the results verify that the proposed method's performance is better than other existing method.

  • Ubiquitous electronic commerce can offer anytime, anywhere access to network and exchange convenient informations between individual and group, or between group and group. To use secure ubiquitous electronic commerce, it is essential for users to have digital signature with the properties of integrity and authentication. The digital signature for ubiquitous networks is required neither a trusted group manager, nor a setup procedure, nor a revocation procedure etc. because ubiquitous networks can construct or deconstruct groups anytime, anwhere as occasion demands. Therefore, this paper proposes a threshold ring signature as digital signature for secure ubiquitous electronic commerce using the ring signature without forgery (integrity) and the (n,t) ring signature solving the problem cannot prove the fact which a message is signed by other signer. Thus the proposed threshold ring signature is ubiquitous group signature for the next generation.

Utilitarian Value and its Effect on Continuance Intention in Smartphone-based Mobile Commerce (스마트폰 기반 모바일상거래의 실용적가치와 지속이용의도)

  • Purpose In 2016, the market size of mobile(m-) shopping goes beyeond more than half of a total of online shopping. People use smartphones as the main device for m-commerce. Under the circmustances, this study attempts to address why people prefer to use smartphone-based m-commerce. In other words, it is necessary to understand the main value that smartphone-based m-commerce creates. Drawing on the studies of consumption value, this study focuses on utilitarian value in predicting customers' continuance intention in the context of smartphone-based m-commerce, recognizing that utilitarian value is a key extrinsic motivation in the goal-oriented, performance-oriented shopping contexts. Furthermore, this study identifies factors affecting customers' utilitarian value from the perspective of benefits and costs, following the notion that it represents the result of evaluating a trade-off of benefits and costs caused by smartphone-based m commerce. More specifically, in this study, ubiquitous service, location-based service (LBS), transaction speed, and price utility belong to the benefit dimension, whereas technology anxiety and cognitive effort belong to the cost dimension. Design/methodology/approach To test the proposed hypotheses, the study conducted partial least squares (PLS) analysis with a total of 294 data collected on users with experience in smartphone-based m-commerce. Findings The results show that first, utilitarian value is increased by the benefits, such as ubiquitous service, transaction speed, and price utility. However, LBS has no direct effect on utilitarian value. Second, the noteworthy finding is that ubiquitous service and LBS greatly increase transaction speed. Third, technology anxiety and cognitive effort considered as the cost dimension are negatively associated with utilitarian value but their impacts on it are non-significant. Finally, the results support the argument that utilitarian value is a determinant of continuance intention. Overall, the findings imply that utilitarian value greatly depends on the peception on benefits rather than the aspect of cost in smartphone-based m-commerce. Overall, the findings offer new insight into the studies of m-commerce by considering and verifying the impacts of its benefits and costs simultaneously.

  • The purpose of this paper is to review the major issues of between electronic trade and Ubiquitous computing. The rapidly developed environment by ubiquitous computing make the paradigm form e-trade to u-trade. This Article suggests an a-trade performance framework based on both field and literatures surveys. We propose some research subjects as well as practical implications for improving the performance of global c-trade under ubiquitous.

  • The internet and wireless communication technologies are creating ubiquitous environments in which various services are expected anytime and anywhere. Many hardware facilities have been developed and system structures are suggested for mobile services to realize a ubiquitous computing environment with appropriate quality. But these applications are not designed in the consideration of the general capabilities to perform user's wireless and mobile communication/transaction. Consequently, different needs from users are not sufficiently satisfied yet. In this study, we suggest structure of the emerging network system for mobile commerce that provides users with seamless and ubiquitous environments using location information which exploit context-aware technology.

  • According to the empirical study, the research model has been verified about the introduction of new ubiquitous technology into the Customs Information System. The research model is meaningful in deducing policy for accepting the new ubiquitous technology into the Customs Information System. The organization style is not yet positively accomplished, because of insufficient recognition about the new ubiquitous instrument. The other side the individual style, environmental style and working characteristics are contribute to accept the new ubiquitous environment, because of sufficient of education, usage and recognizing the usefulness of the portal information. It is established the Customs Information System with new ubiquitous technology such as RFID, DM, UCR etc.. for the usefulness and convenience.

  • With the advent of Ubiquitous era, Korean government understood its strategic importance and formulated 'IT839 Strategies' with various action plans not to miss the great opportunities which it may allow and eventually to realize u-Korea. As a result, m-Commerce is actualized and new types of Ubiquitous services such as digital multimedia broadcasting(DMB) and wireless broadband Internet(WiBro) are now on their commercial stages. Digital contents are the key success factors of these new services. Digital contents industry is regarded as next generation of growth engine in the digital economy, because it is knowledge-based and high value-added global industry affecting positively on the whole private and public sectors. This paper reviewed the characteristics, business models, technical and market trend of digital contents to be compatible with Ubiquitous environment. Also, it reviewed the development strategies of DMB and WiBro services, which are newly introduced and commercialized in Korea to make it as world leader in these fields. It may be concluded that Korea should make more efforts to development market-oriented digital contents for Ubiquitous era and to realize the sustained economic growth.

  • Recently, commerce paradigm is developing to e-commerce, mobile commerce, and ubiquitous commerce(u-commerce). While many companies consider to adopt u-commerce, they have a task to solve this problem. The typical consideration is to derive the critical success factors for u-commerce. By the literature survey, this paper suggests the critical success factors for e-commerce business and off-line business to transform to u-commerce environment. We find significant variables to contribute the management performance by analyzing the cause and effect relationship.
