  • In this paper, we design a security management application module for an Excel VBA password file. You will set a password for the important VBA program file. If this password is lost, you set a new password. If you forgot the password after setting the password in the Excel VBA file, you will not be able to change the VBA source code. In this paper, we design a function to modify VBA file passwords conveniently. The VBA password modification module extracts VBA files from Excel files. The password can be modified by modifying specific field information in the extracted VBA program file. This allows you to modify the password for the VBA program file. The experiments were performed by implementing the contents proposed in this paper. As a result of the experiment, we can confirm that the password can be used by modifying the VBA file password.

  • The goal of this study is to test the hypothesis that the practicality of EXCEL VBA will be beneficial for SW education for SW non-majors. To this end, we planned the education for non-majors using the EXCEL VBA and conducted 15 weeks of education. According to a follow-up survey conducted after the 15-week education period, 72.21% of the survey respondents said EXCEL was practical. Also, learners who were aware of the necessity of SW education and the importance of SW competence recognized that the computational thinking education using EXCEL VBA had a positive effect on the improvement of computer-related knowledge and experience. Also, learners recognized that learning with EXCEL was easy, while learning with VBA was difficult. The learning process using VBA needs to be composed of project-oriented educational contents that can give a sense of achievement to learners rather than programming-oriented education. And continuous research on project-based learning is needed.

  • In this paper, I propose an efficient data search system using data partitioning algorithm in Microsoft Excel. I propose searching algorithm to retrieve data quickly using VBA functioning in the Excel. This algorithm is to specify the sheet you are looking for. Once the sheet is specified, the algorithm searches the beginning and the end of the data in the sheet. The algorithm compares intermediate values and key words, from the starting position of the cell. In this way, it will search data to the end. This proposed algorithm was implemented and tested in the Excel system using VBA program. The experimental results showed that the performance was better than that of the conventional sequential search method.

  • Purpose: To investigate the diagnostic criteria of T1-weighted imaging (T1W) and time-of-flight (TOF) imaging for detecting intraplaque hemorrhage (IPH) of a vertebrobasilar artery (VBA) compared with simultaneous non-contrast angiography and intraplaque hemorrhage (SNAP) imaging. Materials and Methods: Eighty-seven patients with VBA atherosclerosis who underwent high resolution MR imaging for evaluation of VBA plaque were reviewed. The presence and location of VBA plaque and IPH on SNAP were determined. The signal intensity (SI) of the VBA plaque on T1W and TOF imaging was manually measured and the SI ratio against adjacent muscles was calculated. The receiver-operating characteristic (ROC) curve was used to compare the diagnostic accuracy for detecting VBA IPH. Results: Of 87 patients, 67 had IPH and 20 had no IPH on SNAP. The SI ratio between VBA IPH and temporalis muscle on T1W was significantly higher than that in the no-IPH group (235.9 ± 16.8 vs. 120.0 ± 5.1, P < 0.001). The SI ratio between IPH and temporalis muscle on TOF was also significantly higher than that in the no-IPH group (236.8 ± 13.3 vs. 112.8 ± 7.4, P < 0.001). Diagnostic efficacies of SI ratios on TOF and TIW were excellent (AUC: 0.976 on TOF and 0.964 on T1W; cutoff value: 136.7% for TOF imaging and 135.1% for T1W imaging). Conclusion: Compared with SNAP, cutoff levels of the SI ratio between VBA plaque and temporalis muscle on T1W and TOF imaging for detecting IPH were approximately 1.35 times.

  • It's very important to make an effective and optimized production schedule for the small-to-medium-sized factory which have high-variety low-volume manufacturing properties. And now people say that MES is very useful to make scheduling more effectively. But for small-to-medium-sized factory, it is very difficult to build MES system because of fewer infrastructures in the factory, and more to keep it's continuous maintenance and improvement. Therefore it is more important to systematize the production scheduling generation using simpler and easier tools like EXCEL sheet. And it will be needed a new method to make simple MES construction for more efficient production scheduling. This paper proposes the method which can build simple MES easily using a tool of EXCEL VBA for a small-to-medium-sized factory, and introduces an applied case by the proposed method and EXCEL VBA.

  • Lactose substituted styrene monomer, N-(p-vinylbenzyl)-D-lactonamide(VLA) was prepared by coupling the lactose lactone with p-vinylbenzylamine. The carboxyl group of biotin was activated with N-hydroxysuccinimide in the presence of N, N'-dicyclohexylcarbodiimide. Subsquently, biotin substituted styrene monomer, N-(p-vinylbenzyl)-biotinamide(VBA) was prepared by amidation of the activated biotin with p-vinylbenzylamine. Poly(vinylbenzylactonamide-co-vinylbenzylbiotinamide), p(VLA-co-VBA) were synthesized through radical polymerization from the synthetic monomers(VLA-VBA) by using various mole ratio. The percentages of yield were 67~71%. The copolymers were found amphlphilic which had hydrophilic lactose, hydrophobic vinylbenzyl and biotin site within the structure. IR and $^{13}C-NMR$ analysis on the monomers and copolymer were carried out.

  • We often need to include categorial variables as explanatory variables in regression models. The categorial variables in regression models can be quantified through dummy variables. In this study, we provide an education tool using Excel VBA for displaying regression lines along with test results for regression models with a continuous explanatory variable and one or two categorical explanatory variables. The regression lines with test results are provided step by step for the model(s) with interaction(s), the model(s) without interaction(s) but with dummy variables, and the model without dummy variable(s). With this tool, we can easily understand the meaning of dummy variables and interaction effect through graphics and further decide which model is more suited to the data on hand.
