  • The basic pattern of skirt should be functional in addition to be fit the body. The author paid special attention to the expansion and contraction of the shell which were made the lower trunk and thigh caused by sitting motions. The replicas of the shell were taken by using a gypsum method on 1 female under 4 standardized motions; standing motion, (basic motion), sitting on the chair with flextion 90' at the hip and the knee joints sitting with dropping knees, and sitting with benting legs side wards. Those replicas obtained were developed to the patterns and changes in shape and area of those were measured. Typical displacement and transformation of the shell surface patterns were showed geographycally fig 5-1 to 5-4. mean values of expansion and constriction were obtained by measuring the shell surface on 60 female under the 4 motions. the mean values of it were showed numerically in Table 1-1 to 1-3. The following results were obtained; 1. Vertical constriction of front of the shell were observed near sulcus in guinalis, and vertical extension were near the knees. Horizontal extension were observed near the thighs and the knees. 2. Vertical constrictions of the back of the shell were observed near the knees. It seemed to be influnced the flexion angles of knee points. vertical extension were near gluteus and thighs. Horizontal constriction were small, and horizonlal extension were near gluteus. 3. The high rates of constriction and extension were found near sulcus in guinalis, glutes, and knees. 4. The rates of constriction and extension on the waist line were very low. 5. The highest values of constriction and extension were found in hip and knees.

  • This paper proposes a process to calculate the amount of construction and demolition (C&D) of underground vertical extension methods through considering the characteristics of used construction and demolished materials. The underground vertical extension methods analyzed in this paper were the bottom-up, normal top-down, and top-down methods with multi-post downward (MPD). In order to check the applicability of the proposed process, 24 illustrative examples were generated. The amount of C&D waste of the illustrative examples were calculated and compared. As the results, the top-down method with MPD was the most efficient method to reduce the amount of C&D waste.

  • This study is to analyze the remodeling method of library in terms of space extension method and urban regeneration by repurposing function in unused facilities through case study. In many case of library extension, horizontal extensions are more frequent than vertical extensions, because there are limits to extend vertically due to high live load estimation by book stacks. Extension schemes was organized by new building extension method in connection with existing buildings, attaching method small scaled mass or linear mass to existing building, connecting method a plurality of existing small buildings, vertical extension method on the top of the structure, underground extension method using special structure. Unused facility remodeling to the library, large scaled buildings can be developed completely to the function of the library through the relocation of the space, while small scaled building needs spatial extension. In the case of spatial extension, existing space that was used for other purposes can be used as a reading room or office, avoiding high live load estimation.

  • There are many demands for vertical extension construction method in domestic large cities. In this paper, we analyzed and presented the results of examining the cases of ground floor extension and basement extension using the jack pile method. Since the Jack Pile method presses in all the piles without excavating the ground, the bearing capacity of the all the piles can be checked. It was investigated as a safe construction method unlike other small-diameter pile construction methods during underground extension.

  • In 2014, The Housing Act amended to allows vertical extension and increases the units of housing (or total floor area) to site. Currently, the feasibility of performing vertical extension is evaluated based on safety diagnosis provisions and manuals with 1st investigation stage on slope, uneven settlement, load-bearing capacity, and durability. However, a need for more reasonable evaluation criteria for the investigation is still required because there had not been any other case study on the diagnosis for the vertical extension, and the engineering basis on evaluation criteria were not suggested. Accordingly, this study is intended to suggest feasible evaluation criteria on the carbonation, chloride ion contents, corrosion of reinforcements, crack and surface deterioration of concrete for durability assessment by codes and standards of domestic and foreign countries. The results of this study are expected to be beneficial for establishing more reasonable durability evaluation criteria, and in turn, more reliable assessment protocol for vertical extension.

  • As a governmental plan for real estate revitalization, remodeling vertical extension has been permitted. Thus, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport preannounced proclaiming the revised Housing Act and establishing the remodeling basic plan, and it is anticipated that the remodeling market will be revitalized in earnest after the enforcement of remodeling vertical extension(April 25th. 2014). As vertical extension is applicable up to 3 stories, the safety of building for remodeling is becoming important, so most remodeling construction works use various methods for structural reinforcement. In this process, the selection of structural reinforcement method has depended on structural engineer's experience and knowledge and there has been a limitation in selecting the optimum structural reinforcement method which considers remodeling project characteristics. Therefore, this study analyzed the factors to determine the kinds of structural reinforcement method in a remodeling project and suggested a process to select the best structural reinforcement method of remodeling construction.

  • As vertical extension remodeling policy was implemented in 2014, Safety Inspection Manual was established to ensure structural safety during the vertical extension remodeling. In the manual, the story weight for capability evaluation was based on the Safety Inspection Manual for Reconstruction. Although capability evaluation in the vertical extension remodeling is more important than reconstruction, engineering basis for the story weight is insufficient. Therefore it is necessary to improve the method of calculating the story weight. In this study, story importance and story weight were defined through the case analysis of capability evaluation in order to provide engineering basis for story weight. Also, new story weight equation was presented considering the load-bearing ratio of structural members.

  • Distal extension partial dentures are supported by both the relatively rigid teeth and the resilient mucosa. So impression techniques of residual alveolar ridge in case of distal extension partial denture have particular importance in order to broad distribution of the masticatory force. McLean recognized the need for recording the tissues supporting distal extension partial denture base in functional form to equalize the resilient and non-resilient support, and this was called functional impression. Many investigators proposed various techniques of the functional impression for a distal extension partial denture, but only a little studies were performed about displacement of soft tissue under distal extension partial denture base. The purpose of this study is to investigate the amount of vertical displacement of the soft tissue under distal extension partial denture base by different functional impression techniques. Impression techniques used were Z.O.P. Impression, Selective Tissue Placement Impression, Functional Relining Impression. Measurement of the vertical displacement of soft tissue were made with Depth Gauge and Measuring Platform. A Anatomic Impression was used as a control. The results were tested statistically using 3 way ANOVA and Scheffe test. The followings were the results obtained from this study. 1. The greatest amount of soft tissue displacement was observed in the center of the retromolar pad. 2. No significant differences were found between the crest of alveolar ridge and the buccal shelf area. 3. The greatest soft tissue displacement was observed in Functional Relining Impression using Iowa wax, and the least displacement was observed in Selective Tissue Placement Impression using murcaptan rubber base. 4. No significant differences were found between finger pressure and biting pressure in Z.O.P. Impression, but greater displacement was observed by biting pressure than finger pressure in Functional Reling Impression.

  • This Study analyzed empirically how do brand value components of consumer perception side effect on receptive degree of product in extension types of vertical brand extension, and how does the difference of receptive degree among products of extension types be showed under the positive effect of brand value. First, brand awareness has positive effect on upward and downward extension, and receptive degree of product is higher in downward extension than upward extension. Second, brand association doesn't have positive effect on upward extension but has positive effect on downward extension. Third, perceived quality showed similar results to brand awareness. Only, receptive degree of upward extension product in high perceived quality is higher than in high brand awareness or in high brand association. Fourth, examining about interaction effect among brand value components, interaction effect between brand awareness and brand association exists in downward extension, interaction effect between brand awareness and perceived quality exists in upward and downward extension, and interaction effect between brand association and perceived quality exists in upward and downward extension. By this interaction effect, the difference of receptive degree among products of extension types grows larger.

  • Purpose:The purpose of this study was to investigate of the change of the forward head posture(FHP) according to computer using time. Methods:Subjects were 30 male and 30 female. The factors of FHP were measured cranial vertical angle, cranial rotation angle, and head, upper back, neck flexion/extension angle according to computer using time. Change of FHP used to Digital Inclinometry(JTech, Dualer IQTM Dual Inclinometer). The data were collected by data logger(Logger Teknologi HB, Akarp, Sweden). Results:Cranial vertical angle, cranial rotation angle, and head, upper back, neck flexion/extension were increased according to computer using time(p<.05). But cranial vertical angle and cranial rotation angle, and head, upper back, neck flexion/extension were not significant differences between male and female group(p>.05). Conclusion:The effects of cranial vertical angle, cranial rotation angl and head, neck and upper back angle depend on the computer task time. Increased of FHP may result increased tension in posture muscles of cervical spine, resulting in a risk of musculoskeletal disorders.
