  • In this paper, vision inspection module for dimensional measurement has been developed. For high accuracy of CMM, camera calibration and edge detection with subpixel accuracy have been implemented. In measurement process, the position of vision probe can be recognized in PC by serial communication with CMM controller. The developed vision inspection module can be widely applied to the practical measurement process.

  • We propose a novel programmable miniature vision module based on a custom designed analog VLSI (aVLSI) chip. The vision module consists of the optical flow vision sensor embedded with commercial off-the-shelves digital hardware; in our case is the Intel XScale PXA270 processor enforced with a programmable gate array device. The aVLSI sensor provides gray-scale imager data as well as smooth optical flow estimates, thus each pixel gives a triplet of information that can be continuously read out as three independent images. The particular computational architecture of the custom designed sensor, which is fully parallel and also analog, allows for efficient real-time estimations of the smooth optical flow. The Intel XScale PXA270 controls the sensor read-out and furthermore allows, together with the programmable gate array, for additional higher level processing of the intensity image and optical flow data. It also provides the necessary standard interface such that the module can be easily programmed and integrated into different vision systems, or even form a complete stand-alone vision system itself. The low power consumption, small size and flexible interface of the proposed vision module suggests that it could be particularly well suited as a vision system in an autonomous robotics platform and especially well suited for educational projects in the robotic sciences.

  • In this paper we present the multi-agent robot system developed for participating in micro robot soccer tournament. The multi-agent robot system consists of micro robot, a vision system, a host computer and a communication module. Mcro robot are equipped with two mini DC motors with encoders and gearboxes, a R/F receiver, a CPU and infrared sensors for obstacle detection. A vision system is used to recognize the position of the ball and opponent robots, position and orientation of our robots. The vision system is composed of a color CCD camera and a vision processing unit. Host computer is a Pentium PC, and it receives information from the vision system, generates commands for each robot using a robot management algorithm and transmits commands to the robots by the R/F communication module. And in order to achieve a given mission in micro robot soccer game, cooperative behaviors by robots are essential. Cooperative work between individual agents is achieved by the command of host computer.

  • Today, automobile world market is highly competitive. In order to strengthen the competitiveness, quality of automobile is recognized as important and efforts are being made to improve the quality of manufactured components. The directional ability of automobile has influence on driver directly and hence it must be solved on the preferential basis. In the present research, an automated vision system has been developed to inspect the front chassis module. To interpret the inspection data obtained for front chassis module, new interpreting algorithm have been developed. Previously the control of tolerance of front chassis module was done manually. With the help of the new algorithm developed, the dimension is calculated automatically to check whether the front chassis module is within the tolerance limit or not.

  • In the present research work, an automated machine vision system and a new algorithm to interpret the inspection data has been developed. In the past, the control of tolerance of front-chassis-module was done manually. In the present work a machine vision system and required algorithm was developed to carryout dimensional evaluation automatically. The present system is used to verify whether the automobile front-chassis-module is within the tolerance limit or not. The directional ability parameters related with front-chassis-module such as camber, caster, toe and king-pin angle are also determined using the present algorithm. The above mentioned parameters are evaluated by the pose of interlinks in the assembly of an automobile front-chassis-module. The location of ball-joint center is important factor to determine these parameters. A method to determine the location of ball-joint center using geometric features is also suggested in this paper. In the present work a 3-D best fitting method is used for determining the relationship between nominal design coordinate system and the corresponding feature coordinate system.

  • Techniques based on computer vision are becoming increasingly important in construction safety monitoring. Using AI algorithms can automatically identify conceivable hazards and give feedback to stakeholders. However, the construction site remains various potential hazard situations during the project. Due to the site complexity, many visual devices simultaneously participate in the monitoring process. Therefore, it challenges developing and operating corresponding AI detection algorithms. Safety information resulting from computer vision needs to organize before delivering it to safety managers. This study proposes a framework for computer vision-aided construction safety monitoring using collaborative 4D BIM information to address this issue, called CSM4D. The suggested framework consists of two-module: (1) collaborative BIM information extraction module (CBIE) extracts the spatial-temporal information and potential hazard scenario of a specific activity; through that, Computer Vision-aid Safety Monitoring Module (CVSM) can apply accurate algorithms at the right workplace during the project. The proposed framework is expected to aid safety monitoring using computer vision and 4D BIM.

  • Purpose: The aim of this research was to propose a program that can be used the Binocular Eye Visual Perception Training. Methods: This program can be used as a tool for binocular vision and vision training. The system that was made up of module was available in the stereosis and the vergence training. Results: In case of input module, this program could estimate the distance by using fixation disparity. Also, our margin of erroe is less then 5%. In case of output module, 28 trainers were examined by stereoscopic vision and visual depth perception. Conclusions: Therefore, the system can be used as a tools for the vision training.

  • In this paper, an automatic functional inspection system EVT (Emulated Vision Tester) for LCD drive module PCB has been proposed and implemented. Typical automatic inspection system such as probing methods and vision-based systems are widely known and used, however, there exist undetectable defects due to critical timing factors which they may miss to catch from LCD equipments. Especially typical vision-based systems have inconsistency on acquisition of images so that distinction between gray scales can be difficult which results in low level of performance and reliability on the inspection results. The proposed EVT system is pure hardware solution. It directly compares pattern signals from a pattern generator to output signals from LCD drive module. It also inspects variety of analog signals such as voltage, resistance, wave forms and so forth. The EVT system not only shows high performance in terms of reliability and processing speed but reduces costs on inspection and maintenance. Also, full automation of entire production line can be realized when EVT is applied in in-line inspection processes.

Electronic Circuit Design for Portable Infrared Night Vision Scope (휴대용 적외선 야시경을 위한 전자회로설계)

  • This paper designed the electronic circuit part of Potable Infrared Night Vision Scope for a small size, light weight, and low power. Designed electronic circuit part is composed of an Auto Voltage Selecting Module, and a Power Supply Module. An Auto Voltage Selecting Modulo is composed of a switch, a battery, a step up voltage part, and a selecting voltage part. A Power Supply Module is composed of a high luminous sensing part, a battery voltage sensing part, a infrared illumination part, a connection sensing part, and a power control part. And this module controls the power of Image Intensifier Tube. To verify the performance of the designed electronic circuit part, we experimented the consumption power and continuous using time. Experimental results show that the designed electronic circuit part improves considerably on the performance of the AN/PVS-14. performance.
