  • Internet website is widely used as strategic mean for making profits as well as corporate advertisement. Therefore, website becomes necessary to evaluate for improving the efficiency of the website. Especially companies construct the website with different purposes, so applying the universal web evaluation model is inefficient. Also existing research about website evaluation model don't consider about the dependence of each evaluation factor. In this paper, we propose the developing methodology of website evaluation model considering the dependence of evaluation factors. This developing methodology use FSM and the inference algorithm using levelized FCM.

  • The purpose of this paper is propose an analytical method for evaluating user satisfaction of Internet website and identifying casual relationships between user satisfaction of Internet website and performance measures as like revisit intention and complaints using the structural equation model (SEM). This paper is intended to identify critical evaluation factors of user satisfaction for Internet website to determine criteria for evaluating the website. and use the criteria to develop a SEM model for quantitatively evaluation of each factors effects of user preference. The SEM model used 5 latent variables for the evaluation factors of website user satisfaction and 2 latent variables for performance evaluation. 2 portal sites were evaluated to construct the SEM model. and 74 subjects participated the website evaluation using the walk-through and face-to face survey method. Analysis results showed that the SEM model was statistically significant for all the 2 websites evaluated.

  • As attention to the Internet from both companies and individuals is rapidly on the increase, hundreds of new websites are opening in a single day. Along with such a high attention to the Internet, to set up an effective website needs efficient evaluation and reliable evaluation criterions for the website. The existing homepage contests and evaluation models are limited to certain websites in a special field or to the systemic side and to the contents, which in fact weakened the development of detailed evaluation sections and items possibly measured. This study is designed to integrate and seek out methods and success factors that should be considered when a website is built up, discovering evaluation criterions and making evaluation models objectively possible to be measured. The study focused on investigation into a new measurement standard and model by considering the previous studies, in order to suggest the followings: Centering the 7 top evaluation sections by type of each website such as (1) Service, (2) Mechanism, (3) Structure & Navigation, (4) Usability, (5) Contents (6) Community, (7) Communication, the study suggests an objective and reasonable website evaluation model on a basis of common factors considered in an integral and optimum view.

  • This study examines the scientific publications on website evaluation in hospitality and tourism from 2010 to 2023 through a systematic review and discusses implications for future research. The reviewed literature from publication years, journals, research methods, website-related stakeholders, context, various forms of Internet presence (Internet forms), and theories are analyzed to create a comprehensive website evaluation dimension. Furthermore, a conceptual framework is developed to show the relationship between the website characteristics, stakeholders-channels interaction, and stakeholders' reactions. The proposed website evaluation framework in hospitality and tourism synthesizes the existing knowledge, identifies gaps, and further advances our understanding of this research area.

  • The purpose of this study was to identify the criteria of evaluating a price-comparison website, and to investigate the consumers' perceived importance and satisfaction of each criterion. Also, it compared both the importance and satisfaction levels based on consumers' socio-economic and Internet-usage characteristics. Data for this study came from a questionnaire completed by consumers (n=417), who had used the price-comparison website, and were analyzed through factor analysis, t-test, and ANOVA. The findings of the study were as follows: First, the evaluation criteria of the price-comparison website were categorized into five variety of information, accuracy, convenience, credibility, and the website system. Second, convenience of searching information was seen by consumers as both the most important and most satisfactory criterion. Variety of information was also considered important. For most of the evaluation criteria, the level of consumers' satisfaction was significantly lower than the level of consumers' recognized importance. Third, consumers in their 20s, students, and housewives were less likely to be satisfied by the price-comparison website overall. Older people were less likely to be satisfied with the convenience of the website, and the higher-income group was less likely to be satisfied with the variety of information on hand.

  • As time gees by, the function and role of website become more important. Therefore, it is very critical to evaluate and improve continuously the website to the purpose. Many previous studies show that some website evaluation factors will influence the user satisfaction and revisit to the website. The website evaluation criteria from the previous studies related to the university library website evaluation were classified into five assessment criteria which are design, contents, user interface, reliability, and site management. In the results, some significant suggestions were found out. User satisfaction is seriously affected by user interface, and user's intention to revisit is influenced by contents and reliability, but there may not be a close connection between them. Besides, the evaluation method in this study may be applicable to the new website-improving approach of website administrators and researchers.

  • This paper described the developed website usability evaluation system in terms of Kansei engineering using neural network. Developed system simultaneously operates with the MS Internet Explorer by entering the target URL for usability evaluation, and the results are learned using neural network. We firstly derived the Kansei adjectives and website usability factors and they were matched by the correspondence analysis. Then, highly corresponded adjectives were implemented on the system for the Kansei evaluation. Finally, the results showed the appropriate efficiency of developed algorithm and system for the website evaluation. If more subjects were used for the system learning, the efficiency of system could be improved.

  • With the increasing influence of online media, company websites have become important communication channels between companies and customers. Companies use their websites as a marketing tool for a variety of purposes, including enhancing their image and selling products or services. Many researchers have examined the criteria, methods, and tools for website evaluation, but most have focused on usability. Prior content analyses have focused not on text content but on website components, an approach likely to produce subjective evaluations. This study attempts to objectively evaluate company websites by utilizing text mining. We analyze the usefulness of company websites by presenting visualized outputs from a business perspective, allowing practitioners to easily understand the results of the website evaluation and use them in decision making. To demonstrate our method empirically, we selected a company with a number of affiliates in Korea and analyzed the text content of their websites to assess their usefulness using natural language processing and graphics packages in R. Practitioners can easily employ our objective evaluation method, and researchers can use it to gain a new perspective on website evaluation.

  • This paper proposes a new model to· evaluate the effectiveness of websites using balanced scorecard (BSC) and weighted formula based methods.fisrt, we Use BSC method to find out the cause-and-effect relationships between the measure and website activities, and our proposed model evaluates website performance from six perspectives: business value, operational excellence, customer value, website interface, management, maintenance, and learning and innovation. Next, we usedformula-based approach to identify what makes website performance low by developing the evaluation formula through investigating website users; finally, case studies of two famous websites are given to show how our method can be used Our evaluation model can not only evaluate website performance but also suggest how to improve performance.

  • The purpose of this paper is to propose an analytical method for evaluating user satisfaction of Internet websites using the structural equation model(SEM). This paper is intended to identify critical evaluation factors of user satisfaction for websites to determine criteria for evaluating the websites, and use the criteria to develop a SEM model for quantitatively evaluation of each factors' effects of user satisfaction. The SEM model used 2 variables of usability and good-looks for the evaluation factors of websites user satisfaction and each factors have 4 sub evaluation criteria, 3 portal sites were evaluated to construct the SEM model, and 155 subjects participated the website evaluation using the walk-through and face-to-face survey method. Analysis results showed that the SEM model was statistically significant for all the 3 websites evaluated. Both the usability and good-looks two factors also showed significant effects to user satisfaction of websites and have positive correlation. The user satisfaction was more effected by the usability factor than good-looks, and the simplification and harmonization were the most critical sub-factors of the usability and good-looks.
