  • Direct motor-driven winding has been increasingly applied in winding machinery. However, it is necessary to analyze the kinematics of winding prior to developing the winding control algorithm, because direct motor-driven winding machine should be operated in accordance with the pre-determined kinematic information for the winding control. This paper presents the kinematics of the degressive winding method and its kinematic winding control algorithm in order to wind the required volume of a pirn package in a desired shape. The proposed algorithm can give the appropriate yarn speed, traverse speed, and the spin speed of the spindle at every traverse stroke, which are utilized for controlling the spindle motor and traverse motor of the winding machine. Computer winding simulations showed that the proposed algorithm is successful in the degressive pirn winding.

Current limiting characteristics of transformer type SFCL with coupled secondary windings according to its winding direction

  • In this paper, the current limiting characteristics of the transformer type superconducting fault current limiter (SFCL) with the two coupled secondary windings due to its winding direction were analyzed. To analyze the dependence of transient fault current limiting characteristics on the winding direction of the additional secondary winding, the fault current limiting tests of the SFCL with an additional secondary winding, wound as subtractive polarity winding and additive polarity winding, were carried out. The time interval of quench occurrence between two superconducting elements comprising the transformer type SFCL with the additional secondary winding was confirmed to be affected by the winding direction of the additional secondary winding. In case of the subtractive polarity winding of the additional secondary winding, the time interval of the quench occurrence in two superconducting elements was shorter than the case of the additive polarity winding.

Robotized Filament Winding of Full Section Parts: Comparison Between Two Winding Trajectory Planning Rules

  • Robotized filament winding technology involves a robot that winds a roving impregnated by resin on a die along the directions of stresses to which the work-piece is submitted in applications. The robot moves a deposition head along a winding trajectory in order to deposit roving. The trajectory planning is a very critical aspect of robotized filament winding technology, since it is responsible for both the tension constancy and the winding time. The present work shows two original rules to plan the winding trajectory of structural parts, whose shape is obtained by sweeping a full section around a 3D curve that must be closed and not crossing in order to assure a continuous winding. The first rule plans the winding trajectory by approximating the part 3D shape with straight lines; it is called the discretized rule. The second rule defines the winding trajectory simply by offsetting a 3D curve that reproduces the part 3D shape, of a defined distance; it is called the offset rule. The two rules have been compared in terms of roving tension and winding time. The present work shows how the offset rule enables achievement of both the required aims: to manufacture parts of high structural performances by keeping the tension on the roving near to the nominal value and to markedly decrease the winding time. This is the first step towards the optimization of the robotized filament winding technology.

집중권 방식 단상유도기의 출력 및 소음 특성 개선 (Improvement of Output Characteristics and Acoustic Noise Characteristics for Single Phase Induction Motor with Concentrated Winding)

  • In general the distributed winding method is applied for induction motor in order to have the sinusoidal flux distribution. Recently the concentrated winding method is the interested technique so as to lower the material cost portion of copper coil. In the concentrated winding induction motor the harmonic flux and the torque deterioration by it would be occurred. To restrain ill effect of harmonic flux distribution by concentrated winding, the skew of rotor conduction bar is very important design variable. This study is focused on the optimal design of rotor bar's skew and winding turns for concentrated winding induction motor. In this study, the control method of harmonic parasitic torque in concentrated winding induction motor is proposed and validated its practicality through the experiment. As a result of this study, large skew angle which was not conventional in distributed winding was favorable in the concentrated winding induction motor. The concentrated winding induction motor which is designed per the proposed method of this study can be manufactured more cost effectively than conventional distributed winding.

FRP의 원통형 압력 용기제작을 위한 필라멘트 밴드의 감김 시뮬레이션 (Filament Band Winding Simulation for Fiber Reinforced Cylindrical Pressure Vessels)

  • The filament winding method is widely used to manufacture products of fiber reinforced plastics (FRP), such as high pressure vessels, launch tubes and pipes. For reducing winding time, the method of winding by filament band which consists of several filament fibers is used. NC winding machine is used for precise winding and NC path is needed. Before filament winding, users should verify that winding path which presented by a line is appropriate by filament winding simulation. Also, the used length of each filament is different. So, if the peak filament exhausted, it causes to stop manufacturing. In this research, we developed software which visualizes 3D graphic of filament band winding path and simulates winding process on real time. And we proposed algorithm about calculation of each filament usage. We use geodesic equation for generating filament band surface and calculating the usage length of each filament.

Type 2 고압용기를 위한 금속선재의 Hoop Wrap에 관한 이론 연구 (Theoretical Study on Hoop Wrap of the Metal Wire for Type 2 High Pressure Tank)

  • Recently, Type 2 high-pressure hydrogen storage tank is studied due to fast defect detection, easy manufacturing, and cost efficiency. Moreover, the dry winding a high-strength metal wire will make increased economic efficiency compare with the wet winding method and the carbon/glass fiber winding method. In this study, a theoretical study on the dry winding of a Type 2 high pressure hydrogen tank using a metal wire was done, and the equations of the total stress on the aligned and the staggered winding for the hoop winding were derived, and the following results were obtained by using these equations. As the diameter of the metal wire, the number of winding layers, and the outer diameter of the liner increase, the maximum stress decreases, but the difference between the maximum stress occurring in the aligned winding and the staggered winding increases. As the pressure increases, the thickness of the winding layer increases, but as the strength of the metal wire increases, the thickness of the winding layer decreases. In addition, regardless of the strength of the metal wire, the thickness of the winding layer of the staggered winding was about 13.4% thinner than that of the aligned winding.

평면 동판 권선을 이용한 Flyback 변압기 설계에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Design of Flyback Transformer using Flat copper winding)

  • 본 논문에서는 90W급 LED-TV용 DC-DC Flyback 컨버터에 사용되고 있는 소형화 및 권선 자동화에 적합한 사출형 평면 동판 권선 방식의 Flyback 변압기 최적화 설계에 대해서 나타낸다. 또한 본 논문에서는 수동권선방식의 기존 양산 Flyback 변압기에 비해 권선 자동화, Trans 체적 저감 및 전기적 특성 동질성 향상이 가능한 사출형 평면 동판 권선 방식의 Flyback 변압기를 제안한다. 특히 본 논문에서 제안한 사출형 평면 동판 권선 변압기는 권선 자동화를 위하여 수직형 권선 방식으로 구성한다. 본 논문 제안한 사출형 평면 동판 권선 방식의 Flyback 변압기의 1차측과 2차측 권선은 각각 기존 권선, 3중 절연 권선 및 사출형 평면 동판권선을 사용하였다. 최종적으로 Maxwell 2D 및 3D Tool을 이용한 시뮬레이션 결과를 토대로 본 논문에서 제안한 소형화 및 권선 자동화에 적합한 사출형 평면 동판 권선 방식의 Flyback 변압기 최적화 설계를 수행하였다.

커패시터 구동형 단상유도전동기의 권선설계에 대한 연구 (A Study of Winding Design for Capacitor Run Single phase Induction Motor)

  • This paper is concerned with winding design in capacitor-run single phase motor. Winding design in single phase induction motor is more complicated than that in three phase induction motor, because of using concentric winding in the single phase. Various winding designs are possible, and accordingly layout of the slot is calculated by formula. And then accurate design of winding is available. Using the design process in this paper, we can get the base model with slot layout and turns of windings of 1.12 kW single phase induction motor, and it is verified by finite element analysis. In this paper, winding design and winding layout of single-phase induction motor using concentric winding are suggested.

고속 자동정렬 케이블 와인딩을 위한 가이딩 시스템 개발 (Development of a Guiding System for the High-Speed Self-Align Cable Winding)

  • Recently, the demand for the optical cable is rapidly growing because the number of internee user increases and high speed internet data transmission is required. But the present optical cable winding systems has some serious problems such as pile-up and collapse of cable usually near the flange of the bobbin in the process of the cable winding. To reduce the pile-up collapse in a cable winding systems, a new guiding system is developed for a high-speed self-align cable winding. First of all, the winding mechanism was analyzed and synchronization logics for the motions of winding, traversing, and the guiding were created. A prototype cable winding systems was manufactured to validate the new guiding system and the suggested logic. Experiment results showed that the winding system with the developed guiding system outperformed the system without the guiding system in reducing pile-up and collapse in the high-speed winding.

Winding function theory를 이용한 flux switching motor의 토크 계산 (Torque Calculation of Flux Switching Motor by Winding Function Theory)

  • 본 논문에서는 winding function이론을 이용하여 플럭스 스위칭 전동기의 토크 계산에 대하여 기술하였다. 먼저 플럭스 스위칭 전동기의 토크 리플을 줄이기 위하여 기존의 전동기 모델에서 회전자 형상을 최적화한 새로운 플럭스 스위칭 전동기를 제시였고, 유한요소해석을 통하여 최적화된 전동기의 토크 리플의 감소를 확인하였다. 그리고 Winding function 이론을 이용한 시뮬레이션 결과와 유한요소해석 결과를 비교 검토하였다. 또한 최적화된 플럭스 스위칭 전동기와 구동 실험 장치를 제작하였고, winding function 이론을 이용한 토크 특성 해석 결과와 실험결과를 비교한 결과로부터 winding function 이론을 이용한 해석 방법의 가능성을 확인하였다.
