The Research is an alternative to environmental management in the early study of the need to conceptualize the theoretical approach to wisdom management. In other words, it presents a new management paradigm for a business environment of uncertainty and unpredictability. Furthermore, it aims to propose Wisdom Management as an alternative in the modern management environment as well as a topic of discourse. Its purpose is to provide basic knowledge to people who study and practice in this field to strengthen the competitiveness of individuals and companies. Research design, data, and methodology - This paper first provides six characteristics of the current management environment at home and abroad. It then attempts to emphasize the necessity of wisdom based on such characteristics by classifying wisdom according to recent management study research. This allows the derivation of definitions of wisdom management, suggesting its components and properties. Therefore, accordingly, wisdom can be defined and classified as: wisdom that offers potential integration beyond knowledge, practicing and maintaining knowledge wisdom as an efficient strategy for an organization wisdom as a decision-making process that addresses ambivalence wisdom as the pursuit of common goods based on ethics; and, wisdom as creativity that involves intuition and insight. This paper attempts to define Wisdom Management in accordance with these definitions of wisdom. Wisdom Management is a management system that is awareof the current environment given in the multidimensional perspective, achieves the efficiency of the organization and the goals of common good through an uncertain decision-making process, based on the organization of individual and organizational knowledge, and the internal experiences and resources. Wisdom Management components include human beings, virtue, knowledge, creativity, and ambivalent thinking. Its properties include intentionality, self-destructiveness, creative and ethical reflexivity, complexity, insight, unpredictability, ambivalence, and wholeness. Conclusions - Since all organizations face the limitations of their environment, crises, and opportunities, applying wisdom in management to develop as Wisdom Management can be an inevitable alternative to the uncertainties of the management environment faced by modern society. The conceptualization of Wisdom Management forms a valuable context to further advance knowledge management theory into practice. It is also a cornerstone of strategic management and can provide insight into its potential for success and implementation.

  • This study is a part of our research project that considers 'Science as Wisdom (SaW)' as a new approach to science education. We presented a review of previous studies on wisdom from relevant areas as philosophy, psychology and education, and drew a few educational meanings. We also conducted a survey of science teachers' perception of wisdom to obtain implications for a follow-up study. The survey was conducted on pre-service science teachers, in-service science teachers, and teachers of other subjects. The results of this study are as follows: First, all three groups of participants perceive 'practical' domain of wisdom as most important while 'interpersonal' domain was perceived as least important. Second, all three groups of participants perceive that 'to catch what the most important problem is,' is the most important among 20 elements of wisdom. Third, when participants were asked about the 'wise people around them', the interpersonal domain followed as the second most frequent response after the 'practical' domain, which was in contrast to our first finding above. Fourth, about 80% of all participants answered that wisdom can be cultivated through school education. Finally, answers to the question asking the scientific concepts related to wisdom were categorized into four types as follows: (1) the wisdom required to understand and apply scientific knowledge, (2) the wisdom included in the meaning of scientific knowledge, (3) the wisdom needed to discover scientific knowledge, (4) the wisdom that can be developed through scientific activities.

Eventually, for the decision makers are needed concentrated knowledge which is unconscious and embodied, when they make a decision. This is wisdom. Thus, wisdom is superior to knowledge for the decision makers. There are some researches on wisdom but wisdom management were overlooked. This study presents differences between knowledge and wisdom with theoretical research and empirical analysis on the wisdom management.

  • Integrating a field of transportation and IT is becoming a novel solution to social and economic problems which was previously focused on the investment in infrastructures. It also created new areas of industry such as ITS and telematics. Especially, vehicle communication is being considered very important and DSRC is also important in the field of rational ITS in recent. DSRC OBE has come into wide use through ETCS. In the field of traffic signal control, the research to implement an optimal traffic signal control system using a real-time information of good quality is being carried out and also the study of WISDOM was successfully completed. This paper shows the development of Dynamic-Dilemma zone warning service utilizing WISDOM and the evaluation of a reliability and a practicality through the field test. While the proposed Dynamic-Dilemma warning system transmits an information of signal time optimized by WISDOM, the OBE which receives this information makes dilemma zone based on its location and speed and gives warning to a driver.

  • This study proposes a service model that can effectively provide users with knowledge and wisdom contents from the experience of overcoming the crisis to sustain human growth. In order to serve as a wisdom content, the necessity of the service nature is suggested and the present knowledge contents services are analyzed from the viewpoint of service nature. As a result, it is analyzed that current knowledge contents service is unidirectional, inconsistent and can not provide various related information together. In this study, we propose a wisdom contents service model that is consistent with the current service era. We propose a new wisdom contents service model that reflects the essence of service as a way to become more useful wisdom contents service. The proposed wisdom contents service model is able to provide a story and various related information out of the existing fragmentary knowledge services. This makes it easy for users to acquire and use wisdom. This study is a basic study for the development of wisdom contents service, and further research is needed on detailed discussion of wisdom contents service, analysis of service system, and suggestion of customized service through user demand survey.
