In a very time, the Internet has affected the lives of millions of peoples. Some serious advances have been made in software development, information exchange, publishing, database retrieval, educational opportunities, commercial expansion, political awareness, and more. But this network of network is still in its infancy. More advanced search concept, World Wide Web(or Web) will continue to help users move boldly onto the information highway. It help user work effectively and efficiently. In this article, we explain how to utilize web to enhance research in Industrial Engineering area.

오늘날 정보의 대부분이 유통되고 있는 웹(World Wide Web)은 기술의 발달과 함께 교환되는 정보의 질과 양이 증가하면서 3차원 정보가 중심을 이루는 방향으로 발전하고 있다. 그러나 우리가 본질적으로는 현실의 3차원 환경에 익숙해져 있더라도 모니터에 비추어지는 3차원 정보는 생소한 것으로 사용자 뿐 아니라 디자이너 역시 이 새로 등장한 매체에 대해 적절히 대응하지 못하고 있다. (중략)

세계화, 정보화, 개방화 등으로 대변되는 오늘날의 불확실하고 변화 무방한 경영환경은 규모나 업종에 관계없이 모든 기업들로 하여금 과거와는 다른 경쟁무기를 강구할 것을 강요하고 있다. 이러한 흐름에 발맞추어 기업들은 인터넷, 특히 World Wide Web (WWW)의 활용에 지대한 관심을 기울이고 있다. 기업들이 WWW의 활용에 관심을 기울이는 목적은 여러 가지가 있을 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 기업들의 이러한 활동을 분석해 보기 위하여 미국의 대기업, 미국이외 지역의 대기업, 그리고 대형 Website들에 있어서 7가지 마케팅 활동을 위한 WWW의 활용도에 초점을 맞추었다. 본 연구의 결과에 의하면, 미국의 대기업과 미국이외 지역의 대기업은 주로 기업의 홍보(Public Relation)에, 대형 Website들은 주로 사용자들의 site 방문을 장려(Encouragement)하는데 WWW을 활용하는 것으로 나타났다. 또한, 본 연구는 미국의 대기업들은 대화형 안내책자 (Interactive Brochure)에도 WWW을 적극 활용하고 있으며, 대형 Website들과 미국이외 지역의 대기업들은 직접판매와 고객화 (Direct Sales and Customization)를 위한 WWW의 활용측면에서 상당히 다른 형태를 보여주고 있음을 보여주고 있다.

With the rapid growth of internet infrastructure, World Wide Web is evolving recently into various services such as cloud computing, social network services. It simply go beyond the sharing of information. It started to provide new services such as E-business, remote control or management, providing virtual services, and recently it is evolving into new services such as cloud computing and social network services. These kinds of communications through World Wide Web have been interested in and have developed user-centric customized services rather than providing provider-centric informations. In these environments, it is very important to check and analyze the user requests to a website. Especially, estimating user preferences is most important. For these reasons, analyzing web logs is being done, however, it has limitations that the most of data to analyze are based on page unit statistics. Therefore, it is not enough to evaluate user preferences only by statistics of specific page. Because recent main contents of web page design are being made of media files such as image files, and of dynamic pages utilizing the techniques of CSS, Div, iFrame etc. In this paper, large log analyzer was designed and executed to analyze web server log to estimate web contents preferences of users. With mapreduce which is based on Hadoop, large logs were analyzed and web contents preferences of media files such as image files, sounds and videos were estimated.

This paper reviews how to access the ergonomic information through internet-the world-wide computer networks. Recently, with the growth of hypertext type Internet-the WWW (World-Wide Web), it becomes much easier to access to the Internet and we can retrieve information very effeciently. In order to search the ergonomic information, this paper also reviews the famous Web search engines like Lycos, Web Crawler, and meta-indices like YAHOO. Also, useful Web-sites of ergonomics/human factors such as ErgoWeb are summarised.

The easily use of WWW and Web browser of INTERNET makes the world our stage. But when we search for the information and resource that we want, the information supplied by search engine (e.g., Yahoo, Lycos, WebCrawler, Alta Vista) is inadequate to acquire the necessary and related information of research issues. This paper surveys AMT(Advanced Manufacturing Technology) which is the research topics recently on the WWW(WorLd Wide Web) and provides searching methods and information for academic research, technical report, proceedings, software, etc. It also briefly surveys WWW-VL(Virtual Library) and reviews the major three technology, CALS (Commerce At Light Speed), AMS(Agile Manufacturing System), CE(Concurrent Engineering), that is recently the focus of the research issue of Industrial Engineer.

World Wide Web을 이용하여, 원격 제어 핵자기 공명 영상이 시도되었다. 이를 위하여, MRI시스템의 host computer에 HTTP server를 구축하였다. 원활한 원격 실험을 위하여 화상 및 음성통신기능도 추가하였다. 개발된 시스템으로 광운대학교의 신호처리연구실에서 대전 KAIST의 의학 영상 공학 센터에 있는 원격 MRI시스템을 이용하여 성공적으로 MRI 영상을 얻을 수 있었다.

The structure of a Web site can prevent the search robots or crawling agents from confusion in the midst of huge forest of the Web pages. We formalize the view on the World Wide Web and generalize it as a hierarchy of Web objects such as the Web as a set of Web sites, and a Web site as a directed graph with Web nodes and Web edges. Our approach results in the optimal hierarchical structure that can maximize the weight, tf-idf (term frequency and inverse document frequency), that is one of the most widely accepted content centric measures in the information retrieval community, so that the measure can be used to embody the semantics of search query. The experimental results represent that the optimization model is an effective alternative in the dynamically changing Web environment by replacing conventional heuristic approaches.
