Characteristics of organic acid degradation by isolated yeast strain was investigated. Optimum initial pH was 5. Increase in cell mass was proportional to the decrease in organic acid degradation. Also no accumulation of byproduct was observed during degradation. Acetic acid degraded fast, followed by butyric acid and propionic acid in order. No significant substrate inhibition was observed up to 12 g/L of acetic acid 7 g/L of propionic acid, respectively. However, inhibition of butyric acid was significant above 4 g/L. Cell mass yield was 0.2-0.4 g cell/g acids and decreased at high decreased at high organic acid concentration. 95% of organic acid (7.5 g/L), corresponding to 13,000 ppm, was degraded in 30-40 hours.

The changing trend of longevity from 1955 through 1985 and its interprovincal variation were studied with longevity rate as indicator. In order to detect the affecting factors of longevity rate, eleven urbanalizational, geographic-environmental, demographic and social-economic variables were employed to carry out multiple stepwise regression analysis. The data used for this study were from Population Census Reports 1955-1985 published by EPB and Year book of Public Health and Social Statistics 1986 published by Ministry of Health and Social Affairs and other reference. Subsequent to that longevity rate decreased during 1950's it has increased continuously by the yeat of 1980's. This trend was especially remarkable in the south area and the GIRI mountain area in Korea. The stepwise regression analysis shows that the longevity rates were significantly associated with the independent variables, and the dependent variables explained at the level of 93.7percent-99.9 percent. Longevity is a reflection of the demographic and socio-economic, environmental and health resourses factor etc., longevity problems cannot be dealt with in isolation. The possible research and services which could be provided by government will be discuss.

A self completed survey of 250 housewivies living in the Seoul. The aim of this study was to investigate the perceptions and preferences of 20's, 50s housewives to Korean traditional cookies. The result is as follows. As to the preference of Korean traditional cookies, 86.0% answered they liked it. The frequency rate or eating Korean traditional cookies showed that 2 times a year reached the highest 45.6%. They usually purchase Korean cookies on the market rather than making them by themselves. The study showed that 50s housewives preferred Korean cookies are yakwa(74.3%), maejackwa(35.7%) and kangjung(34.3%) otherwise 20s housewives preferred Korean traditional cookies are yakwa(79.4%), hanging(60.0%) and yeat gangiung(39.4%) This survey study may contribute to the improvement of Korean traditional cookies.

Localized rainfall due to abnormal climate has caused extensive damages killing several tens to hundreds of people for yearly basis. The typhoon 'Lusa' of year 2002 has resulted 5,400 billion won of property damage and the damages for roads were approximated to be 2,860 billion won at 12,377 locations holding 53% damage of total. The recent typhoon, 'Aewinia' of yeat 2006 caused the 1,400 billion-won property damage including sweeping and flooding of 127 roads and 65 rivers, respectively. There are needs to minimize the damages for important structures for repeated heavy rainfalls every year and, especially, because debris flow might be a main cause of road damage, the design criteria and guideline for roads are required to be improved. Therefore, this paper presented design method of debris-flow control structure for road protection.

CD1d is an unique antigen presenting molecule which provides antigenic repertoires to NKT cells. To examine molecules required for CD1d antigen presentation, we determined an interaction between CD1d and several endoplasmic reticulum (ER) resident molecular chaperones by co-immunoprecipitation. Results indicated that calnexin and calreticulin seem to be bound to mouse CD1d, but TAP and tapasin do not bind. Further, we screened an yeat two hybrid system to identify proteins that help mouse CD1d transportation in the cytosol. We found that two proteins, heat shock protein a sub-unit $(Hsp90{\alpha})$ and protein kinase C and casein kinase substrate in neurons 3 (PACSIN-3), interact with CD1d. Future study will be focus on the role of these molecules during the CD1d antigen presentation.

Orthostatic proteinuria is documented as a benign condition and the most common cause of isolated proteinuria. The etiology and pathogenesis of orthostatic proteinuria is not clear yet. Recently there were a few report that nutcracker syndrome seemed to cause orthostatic proteinuria. We experienced a case of a twelve-yeat-old female patient with incidently discovered orthostatic proteinuria who was suspected to have nutcracker phenomenon by doppler sonography. We confirmed this patient as nutcracker syndrome by renal venography.

1. Objectives This study focuses on the reliability of the Questionnaire about Sasang Constitution Classification for Mongolians 2. Methods Test-retest method and internal consistency method have been performed based on the absolutely diagnosed group of 87 cases who respond to the questionaries during the time interval of one yeat between July 2003 and July 2004 to verify the confidence level. 3. Results and Conclusions (1) In the test-retest for each question of the Questionnaire of Sasang Constitution Classification for Mongolians, the dependency ratio is 40% and the agreement ratio is 92%. Therefore, this questionnaire has credibility because it has question relations and high agreement ratio. (2) In the internal consistency method for the measure of the Questionnaire of Sasang Constitution Classification for Mongolians, the value of Cronbach alpha is mote than 0.60. As a result, this questionnaire has internal consistency for each question which explains each physical constitution and it has credibility (3) In the internal consistency method for the measure of the Questionnaire of Sasang Constitution Classification for Mongolians, the Pearson's correlation coefficient, r, falls between $+0.38\;{\sim}\;+0.54$ in each measure. Accordingly, this questionnaire has internal consistency between each physical constitution measure and it has credibility.

Today, we live in the fastly changing society, rapidly developing scientific civilization and repeatly confusing political culture. Therefore, man persuits the emotional rest in "eros" and sympathizes with eroticism. Such an eroticism represents too much in art and costume all over the world. the purpose of this study is to classify the ex-pressive style of eroticism which is the feature of the costume in the first year of 1990's and to analyze its expression meaning. This study will be a basic data of new design development and help predict the costume in the latter half of the yeat. The method of this study was performed by using the literature related to the eroticism and the study of preceeding researchers. To analyze the costume style the its implied meaning being used to express the eroticism of 1990's, the magazines(Elle, Vogue, WWD, Collections etc) and the literatures related to fashion were used. The styles and meaning of eroticism expressed eroticism by using the minimal design which exposes wholly or partly by using a transparent vinyl and a see-through clothing. The sexy style arose from the expression of social rebellion and the exposure of suppressive sex as a psychological repulsion against the older generation. 2) Deshabille style : This style is the conver-sion to the outer garment of an underwear. The excessive exposure which just concerns the inti-mate parts of the body by using the thin cloth or lace for an underwear. This style can be recognized as the beauty destruction and ugly 3) Glamour style : The style is made up of the high-grade cloth such as silk and velvet and expresses the bodily beauty. This style falls into a rebellious culture and comes from the inten-tional expression to escape the modern life which is straight and hard. 4) metallic style : This style uses variously the new material such as vinyl-coating, enamel and represents the eroticism through the original expressions.pressions.

The strain of Nuruk yeat No. 15 (NY-15) which ferments lactose in milk was Isolated from Nuruk and identified as Saccharomyces marxianus according to the API 20C profile index. The lactose hydrolysing ability of NY-15 was similar to that Saccharomyces fragilis ATCC 8583 which has ${\beta}-galactosidase$ activity. Its optimum growth temperature, pH and time for the production of maximum enzyme activity showed $28^{\circ}C$, 4.5 and 28hr, respectively. Galactose as well as sucrose as carbon sources, and urea as nitrogen source Increased the production of enzyme. In order to test the production of alcohol, NY-15 was inoculated in whey medium and whey medium added with sugar. In the former, NY-15 produced 2% alcohol and in the latter, it showed 12% alcohol production. The optimal medium pH for lactose hydrolysis of NY-15 is 4.5, whereas that of Saccharomyces fragilis ATCC 8583 is 3.5
