Archival contents service for education is now a major service program in a foreign National Archives. Therefore We need to study their archival contents services in more depth-analysis methods for the development of our contents. My study is based on the summary of the Homepage Sites for Education of the TNA of UK and the NARA of USA. And also a depth-case study on structures of the samples, 'Coldwar' contents of the TNA and the 'McCarthy' contents of the NARA. As a results, first, the formats of archival contents for teaching-learning materials should be in consistent contents structures like a standard textbooks. Second, archival contents service for teaching-learning materials certainly have to support original images of primary resources and educational kits in order to read easily primary sources. Third, given the costs of development, it's desirable for archive to develop archival contents for teaching-learning materials in the way of cross-use by age and curriculum. Forth, when selecting primary sources for teaching-learning materials, priorities have to be given to the text-sources in the light of learning purposes for history education. Fifth, National archives must develop archival contents for teaching-learning materials in connection with standard curriculums in order to promote a nation-wide use.

The local history research started from the 1960's postmodernism neted in the local history as the subject of diversity instead of National history. The local is being magnified as a new research theme among history scholar. In these circumstances, the local history research shows sign of activity and the movement that used in various ways at education has become more active. Compared to the contents business of local history, development of education contents what serviced for student is insufficient. Therefore, this research suggests development plan of local history education contents using archives which efficient tool of history education. Students can grow the ability of historical inquiry, thinking, insight through archives-assisted learning. Also, self-learning is possible instead of a lecture by teacher. This research shows a development of archival contents for local history education though literature research, abroad case analysis, focus group interview with history teachers. Concepts of the local history, local history education, education contents are examined at literature research. Local history education of the State Archives of the United States of America, the United Kingdom, Australia web site is analyzed. These state archives have been providing the web based service of archival contents for local history education for a long time. With these theoretical background, carry out a focus group interview with middle school history teachers. It draw conclusion that 14 category and 35 subcategory and these are reflected in the development of archival contents for local history education.

As the teaching environment of schools has significantly shifted toward using various types of educational contents, the need for the use of educational contents as class resources has increased. Having an archive is an effective way of organizing information that can provide various educational contents. The National Archives (TNA) of the UK has been actively producing and providing educational contents for teachers and students for a long time. The purpose of this study is to analyze in depth the detailed examples and structure of the contents, the process of producing educational contents, and the methods of providing various contents of the TNA, which systematically provides diverse educational contents. It intended to help archivists discover the educational values of archives in providing users with various types of educational contents. Then, the study compared the analysis results with the National Archives of Korea and suggested for its improvement, as well as that of other archives in the country.

This study proposes the formation of education service models using presidential archives based on ubiquitous technology. To accomplish these, this study analyzed various education programs of presidential archives in Korea and other countries. The reason behind the use of ubiquitous technology is to allow interinstitution cooperation and create synergy effects. With this, this technology is grafted onto the modified BIG6 Model, which is developed for information literacy. This study can be useful and valuable in the aspects of education, contents development, and service development.

In this study, educational service programs of archives have been reviewed through articles and case studies. As a result, five main educational services of archives were found. First, educational services are provided to K-12 students and teachers. Secondly, most educational services have focused on application of primary resources connected to current educational courses. Thirdly, cooperations among teachers, education experts, and archivists have been proceeded. Fourth, besides the direct instructions, printed materials and web based educational contents were also provided for students. Fifthly, utilization of primary resources were applied not only to history area, but also many subject areas such as social science, arts and humanities.
