Recycling of Ready Mixed Concrete Sludge as artificial aggregate (레미콘 슬러지의 인공골재로서의 재활용 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is recycling of ready mixed concrete sludge as artificial aggregate by product technique of artificial aggregate in the normal temerature. For the qulity test of artificial aggregate using ready mixed concrete sludge, it is tested in the various aspect. Therefor, Quality of artificil aggregate is suitable as coarse aggregate except absoption, abrasion. For the application of aggregate in cement concrete, Coarse aggregate are replaced with artificial aggregate using ready mixed concrete sludge 100% of volume. The results of test shown that the artificial aggregate using ready mixed concrete sludge could be used replacement of coarse aggregate in cement concrete.

Mechanical Properties of Artificial Aggregate Concrete using the Crushed-stone Sludge (석분 슬러지를 사용한 인공골재 콘크리트의 역학특성)

  • In this study, ambient temperature curing artificial aggregate were developed by using crushed-stone sludge. In order to evaluate the mechanical properties, the artificial aggregate was tested on 7 items. Test results showed that the artificial aggregate mostly satisfied the basic requirements of normal aggregate. The concrete with the artificial aggregate made by weathered rock and granite sludge was tested on the compressive test and flexural test. From the test results, It is confirmed that the concrete with the granite artificial aggregate develope the higher compressive strength than the crushed rock aggregate and the concrete with artificial aggregate concrete have the lower elastic modulus and flexural strength than the concrete with crushed rock aggregate.

  • This study is described the experimental result of the development of artificial aggregate using paper sludge ash and the application of it in concrete. Artificial aggregates are prepared with crushed stone in the variety aspect. Therefore, Quality properties of artificial aggregate using paper sludge ash are fairly corresponded with it of crushed stone. For the application of artificial aggregate using paper sludge ash in concrete, Coarse aggregates are replaced with artificial aggregate using paper sludge ash in the constant of volume(0%, 30%, 70%, 100%). It is conclued from the test results that the artificial aggregate using paper sludge ash could be used replacement of coarse aggregate in concrete. Continuous study should be planned for improvement of it's quality.

  • This study was a result of laboratory test to confirm the porperties of concrete containing the domestic artificial lightweight aggregate. The domestic artificial lightweight aggregate is made with bottom ash which waste material in the thermal power plant. In the experimental result air contents of fresh concrete was measured lower than other artificial lightweight aggregate. This air contents is important for retaining the resistance of freezing and thawing. Therefore air contents of concrete will be considered for retaining the resistance of freezing and thawing when manufacture the concrete containing the domestic artificial aggregate.

  • The purpose of this study is to produce artificial lightweight aggregate. The properties of aggregate are deducted by analysing the plasticity of aggregate according to the addictive contents of $CaCO_3$ and $Al_2O_3$ on constant plastic temperature($1150^{\circ}C{\sim}1160^{\circ}C$) and the specific gravity, the percentage of water absorbtion. The density on the temperature of $1150^{\circ}C{\sim}1160^{\circ}C$ which results from that the plastic temperature of pottery stone is decreased by increasing the addictive contents of $CaCO_3$ and $Al_2O_3$ manufacturing artificial light weight aggregate using pottery stone is included in the arrange of light weight aggregate density. And the percentage of water absorbtion is 4.2~14% which is similar to or lower than existing artificial light weight aggregate. The unit volume weight is in inverse proportion to density and to increase addictive contents of flux.

  • Immense quantities of coal combustion by-products are produced every year, and only a small fraction of them are currently utilized. The purpose of this study is to investigate reused techniques of coal to highly economic growth and expansion of country base industry. So, in this study, artificial aggregate was developed to recycle coal ash by non-sintering technique and crush method. And characteristic of developed artificial aggregate was examined. Also, noise barriers using developed artificial aggregate was made by link of development of ECO-construction product and is preparing sound absorption and transmission loss experiment. Result of study was showed that artificial aggregate was more proper to use a noise barriers and this is expected to satisfy sound absorption standard in this study. So, if shape and color considering surround and design technology is studied continuously, it can be expected to make ECO-precast product as well as maximize waste recycling.

  • To make artificial light-weight aggregate with EAF-dust and estimate ability to apply to concrete, characteristics of the aggregate were considered in density, weight of unit volume, fineness modulus and so on. And then it was executed to experiments of the concrete mixed with the light-weight aggregate. As it was results that artificial light-weight aggregate with EAF-dust was heavier and more watertight than with only clay, concrete weight of unit volume was heavier than with expended clay aggregate. But it was regarded that concrete with EAF-dust artificial aggregate was able to field application as light-weight concrete because concrete of the weight of unit volume was lighter and compress strength and workability were similar to normal concrete.

  • The purpose of this study is to evaluate basic properties of artificial aggregate using concrete sludge according to mixing ratio. Cement, waste phosphogypsum and Powder of blast furnace slag are used with binder of artificial aggregate. Specific gravity, absorption are tested for basic property, and impacting, abrasion and crushing tests are done for characteristics of strength on the aggregate, including comparison with crushed stone. Bry specific gravity was ranged about 1.16 to 1.30 the test result of the aggregates and shape is round In the result of tests, it is concluded that qualities of the aggregates using concrete sludge are slightly lower than crushed stone but it is similiar with sintering artificial lightweight aggregate in high temperature.
