케이블-막구조물의 요소이동(slip)에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Slipping Problem for Cable-Membrane Structures)

  • 본 논문에서는 케이블-막구조의 요소이동을 고려한 해석 기법을 제시하기 위하여 초기평형형상해석 및 응력해석과 요소이동성을 고려한 해석으로 구분하여 연구함으로서 이론적인 접근을 통해 요소이동성을 평가하였으며, 요소이동을 고려한 해석으로 ALE(Arbitrary Lagrangian-Eulerian) 유한요소법을 이용하여 작성된 알고리즘을 제시하여 다양한 예제의 검증을 통해 제안방법을 평가하였다.

납-고무받침과 자기유변유체 감쇠기를 이용한 사장교의 내진제어 (Seismic Protection of Cable-stayed Bridges Using LRB and MR Damper)

  • This paper presents the LRB-based hybrid base isolation system employing additional semiactive control devices for seismic protection of cable-stayed bridges by examining the ASCE first generation benchmark problem for a cable-stayed bridge. In this study, ideal magnetorheological dampers (MRDs) are considered as additional semiactive control devices. Numerical simulation results show that the hybrid base isolation system is effective in reducing the structural responses of the benchmark cable-stayed bridge under the historical earthquakes considered. The simulation results also demonstrate that the hybrid base Isolation system employing semiactive MRDs is robust to the stiffness uncertainty of the structure. Therefore, the LRB-based hybrid base isolation system employing MRDs could be appropriate in real applications for full-scale civil infrastructures.

케이블 돔의 기하학적 비선형 동적해석 (Geometrically Nonlinear Dynamic Analysis of Cable Domes)

  • Cable domes deform very largely because of the characteristics of flexible hybrid system and pre-tension, and include geometrical non-linearity in those structural behavior. Especially wind load is more dominant than seismic loads, because cable domes are flexible structures whose stiffness is very small and self-weight is very light. Therefore, in this paper, Modified Stiffly Stable Method is applied to analyze the nonlinear dynamic behavior of cable domes and compared these results with ones of Newmark-β Method which is generally used. The Seoul Olympic Gymnastic Arena is taken as an numerical example and three kinds of models with giving each different intensity of pre-tension are selected. And dynamic nonlinear behavior of cable domes are analyzed by artificial spectrum of wind velocity wave which is similar to actual wind loads.

Impact of cable sag on the efficiency of an inertial mass damper in controlling stay cable vibrations

  • Passive negative stiffness dampers (NSDs) that possess superior energy dissipation abilities, have been proved to be more efficient than commonly adopted passive viscous dampers in controlling stay cable vibrations. Recently, inertial mass dampers (IMDs) have attracted extensive attentions since their properties are similar to NSDs. It has been theoretically predicted that superior supplemental damping can be generated for a taut cable with an IMD. This paper aims to theoretically investigate the impact of the cable sag on the efficiency of an IMD in controlling stay cable vibrations, and experimentally validate superior vibration mitigation performance of the IMD. Both the numerical and asymptotic solutions were obtained for an inclined sag cable with an IMD installed close to the cable end. Based on the asymptotic solution, the cable attainable maximum modal damping ratio and the corresponding optimal damping coefficient of the IMD were derived for a given inertial mass. An electromagnetic IMD (EIMD) with adjustable inertial mass was developed to investigate the effects of inertial mass and cable sag on the vibration mitigation performance of two model cables with different sags through series of first modal free vibration tests. The results show that the sag generally reduces the attainable first modal damping ratio of the cable with a passive viscous damper, while tends to increase the cable maximum attainable modal damping ratio provided by the IMD. The cable sag also decreases the optimum damping coefficient of the IMD when the inertial mass is less than its optimal value. The theoretically predicted first modal damping ratio of the cable with an IMD, taking into account the sag generally, agrees well with that identified from experimental results, while it will be significantly overestimated with a taut-cable model, especially for the cable with large sag.

사장교 케이블의 진동거동 특성 (Vibrational Characteristics on the Cables in Cable Stayed Bridge)

  • 최근 당진-평택시에 위치한 서해대교에서 낙뢰로 인한 케이블 단선사고가 발생하였다. 이것은 자연발생 사고로 결론이 났지만 케이블교량의 단선으로 인하여 안전문제를 재검토하는 과정이 매우 중요한 일임을 상기하게 된 사건이다. 즉, 케이블 교량에서 케이블의 역할은 구조물의 안전에 지대한 영향을 미치며 이로 인해 전체구조체계에 대한 영향을 파악할 필요가 대두 되었다. 케이블 교량은 주 탑을 세우고 바닥판을 케이블로 지지하는 경제적 교량으로 케이블의 영향은 주 부재로써 전 교량시스템의 안전에 영향이 큰 부재이다. 사장교에서 케이블은 케이블의 장력이 변할 때 발생하는 사하중으로 인한 처짐의 변화 때문에 비선형 성을 가진다. 동적해석은 변형 된 사하중 접선강도행렬을 사용하여 되며 새로운 개념은 전체 교량에 대한 케이블 진동 (면내 및 스윙 모두)의 효과를 연구하기 위해 케이블을 여러 요소로 분할하였다. 이 연구의 결과는 전반적인 교량 역학에 케이블 진동의 중요성을 보여준다.

케이블로 지지된 프리스트레스트 콘크리트 박스거더 정착부의 응력특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on Stress Properties for Cable Anchorage zone of Cable Stayed Prestressed Concrete Box Girder)

  • Anchorage zone in prestressed concrete cable stayed bridges is very important area due to the more accurate analysis is needed to estimate the behavior. In the study, since the cable anchorage zone in the prestressed concrete cable-stayed bridge is subject to a large amount of concentrated tendon forces, it shows very complicated stress distributions and causes a serious local cracks. Accordingly, It is necessary to investigate the parameters of affecting the stress properties, such as the cable inclination, the position of anchor plate, the modeling method and the three dimensional effect. The tensile stress distribution of anchorage zone is compared to the actual design condition by varing the stiffness of spring element in the local modeling and an appropriate position of anchor plate is determined. These results would be elementary data to the stress state of anchorage zone and more efficient design.

A Numerical and Experimental Study on Dynamics of A Towed Low-Tension Cable

  • The paper presents a numerical and experimental investigation on dynamic behaviors of a towed low tension cable. In the numerical study, an implicit finite difference algorithm is employed for three-dimensional cable equations. Fluid and geometric non-linearity and bending stiffness are considered and solved by Newton-Raphson iteration. Block tri-diagonal matrix method is applied for the fast calculation of the huge size of matrices. In order to verify the numerical results and to see real physical phenomena, an experiment is carried out for a 6m cable in a deep and long towing tank. The cable is towed in two different ways; one is towed at a constant speed and the other is towed at a constant speed with top end horizontal oscillations. Cable tension and shear forces are measured at the top end. Numerical and experimental results are compared with good agreements in most cases but with some differences in a few cases. The differences are due to drag coefficients caused by vortex shedding. In the numerical modeling, non-uniform element length needs to be employed to cope with the sharp variation of tension and shear forces at near top end.

  • 본 논문에서는 선행논문(김 등, 2005)을 확장하여 다절점 케이블요소를 포함하는 보-기둥 요소의 기하학적 비선형성에 대해서 논의하기로 한다. 먼저 이를 위해서Hermitial 다항식을 형상함수로 채택하고 보-기둥요소의 2차 효과를 포함하는 접선강도행렬에 다절점 케이블-트러스 요소에 대한 접선강도 행렬을 추가하여 전체좌표계에 대한 접선강도행렬을 구성하고 하중증분법에 의한 유한요소 해석과정을 제시한다. 이렇게 새로이 개발된 다절점 케이블-트러스 요소를 포함하는 뼈대 구조물의 기하학적 비선형성과 그 타당성을 검증하기 위하여 IPS(Innovative Prestressed Support) 시스템의 기하학적 비선형 해석을 실시하고 이의 결과를 선형탄성해석의 결과와 비교한다.

  • Dynamic responses of a bridge retrofitted with cable restrainers are examined under seismic excitations. A simplified and idealized mechanical model is developed to analyze the effects of the restrainers, which can consider the plastic behavior as well as the fracture of the cable. Using the proposed model, the effects of the stiffness and the clearance length of the restrainer upon the global bridge seismic behaviors are estimated. The changes of pounding forces, shear forces, and bending moments due to the application of restrainers are also investigated. The main effect of restrainers upon global bridge motions is found to reduce the relative distances between adjacent vibrations units. It is also found that the relative distances are decreased as the clearance length of the restrainer decreases and the stiffness of restrainer increases.

폐합 전 강사장교의 안정성 해석 (Stability Analysis of Steel Cable-stayed Bridges under Construction Stage)

  • 본 연구에서는 비선형 해석을 통하여 폐합 전 강사장교의 주요한 좌굴 거동 특성을 고찰한다. 케이블의 새그효과, 주탑과 거더의 P-${\Delta}$ 효과, 구조물의 대변위효과 등의 주요한 기하학적 비선형성을 모두 고려하기 위해 기하학적 비선형 해석으로써 구조물의 좌굴 해석을 수행하였다. 초기형상 해석 및 시공단계 해석을 통해 사하중을 받고 있는 시공 단계에 있는 구조물의 해석을 수행하였고 이 후 데릭 크레인과 키 세그먼트의 자중에 대한 비선형 해석으로 폐합 전 사장교의 좌굴 해석을 수행하였다. 본 해석 연구에서는 케이블의 배치 형태 및 주탑과 거더간 강성비에 따른 좌굴 모드 및 임계 하중계수의 변화를 분석하였다. 연구 결과 주요한 좌굴 모드를 구분하고 케이블 배치 형식이 다른 각 사장교에서 각 좌굴 모드가 나타나는 주탑과 거더간 강성비의 범위를 도출하였다.
