  • The purpose of this study was to evaluate the distribution of spatial scatter ray on the chest radiographs of patients on health examination bus. In this paper, we propose a method for minimize unnecessary exposure by measuring the scattered dose after exposure the actual subject and comparing the body mass index (BMI) with the tube current amount mAs. The results of this study showed that the mean BMI of the subjects was $23.31{\pm}3.12$. The mean mAs value was $2.92{\pm}1.19$, which males was higher than females. The mean value of the scatter ray at position 1 in the radiography room was $771.81{\pm}151.15{\mu}Sv/hr$. The mean value of the scatter rays at the position 2 outside the entrance of the radiography room was measured as $53.86{\pm}25.66{\mu}Sv/hr$. As the BMI and mAs was increase the spatial scatter dose was increased at position 1 and position 2 in the photographing room. In order to minimize the exposure dose of scatter ray, radiation workers should shoot the radiation as low as possible within the range that does not impair the quality of the image. It will be necessary to make efforts to not wait for a waiting person near the entrance door of the photographing room.

  • DR has had an important fact not only in the department of radiology but also in productivity or work efficiency of a whole hospital. The environment of DR has more various parameter than CR, so it is able to supply high quality of medical services. The current environment of radiology department in each hospital has been changed from Film-Screen system to DR through Full-PACS. This hospital which uses Full-PACS became to study the proper condition of CR and DDR and how the image quality of them is expressed among general photographing systems in the DR environment. From this experiment, the image quality of DDR is better than CR under the same exposure condition. And in the DDR system, the score of image which uses AEC is a little higher than the score which doesn't use it. Especially it can be known that the function of AEC of DDR is useful to improve the image quality in the part of skull and chest. (The function of AEC : It is the tool that detects the ionized current of x-ray which goes through objects with using the ion chamber which is in the detector. Also it controls the examination of X-ray when the proper density is reached.) Because the proper degree of density can be represented by this system, the photographing can be taken much easily without consideration of the exposure condition with the thickness of various objects. From the result of this experiment, it can be known that the selection of proper exposure condition plays an important rule to gain good Image Quality. More researches will be necessary about DDR system which has potential ability in the future.

  • In this paper, we achieved the study which determined the excellent diagnostic condition and searched the exposure condition with the minimum radiation exposure level having the equal diagnostic ability. To accomplish these study, chest phantom images with lesions and without ones were evaluated at various exposure conditions. With respect to the phantom with lesions and without ones, we obtained the chest PA imaging applied by photographing parts of DR apparatus and the images processed as histogram equalization and edge enhancement method. The images were acquired at the exposure conditions of 2.0, 2.5, 3.2, 4.0 and 5.0mAs. The morphological analysis was performed by ROC curves using the images obtained at each exposure condition. The exposure conditions with the most excellent diagnostic ability and with the equal diagnostic capability having the minimum radiation exposure level were determined by means of sensitivity, specificity and accuracy.

  • Quantitative Evaluation of Image Quality using Automatic Exposure Control This it leads, the relationship of control and image between of photographing condition, DR proper use method proposing. Chest phantom acquires Chest PA images which it follows in conditional change, Image evaluation factor (SNR (Signal to Noise Ratio), CNR (Contrast to Noise Ratio), PSNR (Peak Signal to Ratio), RMS (Root Mean Square)). It excepted RMS price, SNR, CNR, PSNR the case which uses AEC it came out being high The fact that the quality of image is better there was a case which does not use AEC. but Price it was slight. Image qualitative it was deficient in AEC use presence. Through this, the overall situation and most efficient use of radiation workers is better suited. But Passive AEC use would be appropriate for use rather than proactive AEC.

  • This study aims to use the avatar sizing system of the 3D apparel CAD program instead of the existing 3D body scanners, and to commercialize 3D personal avatars. Towards these ends, the study examined a difference between a 3D avatar and actual body was determined to verify the 3D avatar sizing system. For the experiment, three subjects were selected, were measured as they were, and were made to undergo 3D body scanning and photographing. Then, using avatar sizing system on the 3D apparel CAD program, three types of virtual bodies, namely 3D avatars. The 3D avatar and actual body measurements were compared, and 3D avatars and 3D body-scanned shapes were likewise compared. As a result, the three types of actual bodies and their 3D avatars that were created based on the sizing system of the 3D apparel CAD program were overall similar. but, the thin body-YY type and the normal body-A type were different from their avatars. In the case of type B, who had a bulging abdomen, the 3D avatar was bigger than the actual body as measured. Also, in all body shapes, the girths around the chest, waist and abdomen were produced with exaggerated muscular amounts compared to their actual muscular amounts.

  • To find out proper photographing conditions in the chest DR imaging, the evaluation of images using the C-D phantom was carried out on relationship of identification capability, graininess, and exposure ratio. The conclusions were obtained as follows. 1. The patient's entrance skin Exposure (ESE) was decreased as tube voltage was increased. 2. According to the tube voltage change, the C-D phantom's identification capability of the exposure conditions was most visible at 110 kVp. 3. The identification capability according to the exposure ratio (mAs) change was most visible at 90 kVp for 0.5 times of low exposure ratio and at 110 kVp for 1.5 times. Therefore, it is known that the images were able to be better identified at a high exposure than a low exposure. 4. The graininess according to the exposure ratio at tube voltage of 110 kVp resulted in the best thing at 1.5 times of ratio when the exposure ratio was 1.5 times increased and the tube voltage was changed, the graininess showed the best result at 110 kVp. Therefore, the patient's exposure dose was low when kVp was increased and the adequate kVp was found to be 110. The image was better identified when exposure ratio was 1.5 times compared to 1.0 times. The graininess was also good when the exposure ratio became 1.5 times. The tube voltage was good at 110 kVp. However, once the exposure ratio is increased, the amount of radiation dose that the patients received get increased, so that the exposure condition has to be thoroughly considered.
