This study, aimed to categorize pattern of impatient's families in the ICU and to provide useful data for development of family-supportive program was conducted from June, 12 to Aug., 28, using Q-method. After reviewing the literature the researcher proceeded to interview 4 impatient's families in the ICU, developed the statement from consisting of 38 items, and then 30 impatient's families in the ICU were sampled. The collected data were coded after having been scaled from 1 to 9 points, and analyzed using the PC QUANL program. Three types were identified; The first type focused on self-regret about the impatient, the second type of families had some concerns for their health, and the third type was thinking of preparing for their future-lives, such as insurance and savings. It was common to feel powerlessness, regret, compassion, grief and anxiety in all types. They wanted to be given some information, the prognosis of patient and the way to overcome. The study will offer better understanding for family-centered approach and be useful for the system of orientation about impatients and their families.
Purpose: Nurses' resilience plays an important role in overcoming the challenges that nurses often encounter at clinic, and many factors have been examined which influence on nurses' resilience levels. Through this study, those factors were systematically searched and quantitatively synthesized. Methods: In order to find relevant studies, both English and Korean academic databases were searched, and, finally, a total of 33 articles were identified and included in this analysis. Results: The effect size on the protective variables was large and that of the risk variables was medium. In the protective variable group, the job variable group showed a larger effect size compared to the organizational variable group. Among the protective variables, compassion satisfaction showed the highest contribution on enhancing the resilience level of nurses. In the risk variable group, the personal variable group showed the highest effect size, which was followed by the organizational and job variables. Among the risk variables, the personal stress response showed the highest contribution to decreasing the level of resilience of nurses. Conclusion: This study provides a meaningful data for future studies in terms of developing evidence-based interventions to enhance the levels of resilience among Korean nurses.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify the relation between violence experiences and the professional quality of life for hospital nurses. Methods: The participants for this study were 212 nurses in one general and three special hospitals located in the metropolitan area of Seoul, South Korea. Data gathered through October and November 2013 were analyzed using descriptive statistics and $x^2$ test. Results: Nurses experienced verbal violence, physical threats and physical violence more frequently from patients and their families rather than from doctors or peer nurses. Nurse's compassion satisfaction was low when nurses experienced violence from peer nurses. Burnout was high when nurses experienced violence from doctors, peer nurses, patients and their families. Secondary traumatic stress was affected by violence from patients and their families. The professional quality of life of nurses was associated with violence from doctors, peer nurses, patients and their families. Of the nurses, 69.3% answered that formation of a positive organizational culture would be the most effective measure for prevention of violence in hospitals. Conclusion: The formation of positive organizational culture, development of violence intervention policies and education are crucial to improve the professional quality of hospital nurses' life.
The purpose of this study was to identify calls, roles and attitudes of the Christian medical staff in a modern medical system for holistic healing through belief in God's healing methods and God's view about medical treatment. The meaning of healing in the Bible is derived from Rapha in the Old Testament, it's meaning is 'heal wound', 'restore to original condition', 'repair', 'console' and 'be heal'. In the New Testament, the meaning of healing is 'to serve' and 'be in one's service' derived from Therapuein and preserve', 'rescue', 'save a life from death' derived from Sozo. The term of soteriology originated from Sozo. Therefore the meaning of the healing in the Bible is restoring original completeness to the same as Cod's characteristics. The meaning of disease is physical, psychological, social and spiritual imbalance or disharmonious. Disease is usually depravity from moral life to immoral life and abnormal life process with accompaning specific symptoms. Medical staff were called to God's work. recognized God's will for them, and absolutely leaned on God's power to intervene and work above spatial-temporal transcendently. They use spiritual power with medical treatment skills, help sick people to possibly have dynamic and individual relation with God and help to maintain their well-being and complete healing. Attitudes of medical staff were compassion and love, virtue of modesty, strong and daring, patience with belief, healing with God's word, using spiritual insight, play. using medical knowledge and techniques, continuing spiritual training, laying on of hands and repentance.
Purpose: This study is a qualitative study that investigated the nature of Koreans' spiritual health using a hybrid model, clarifying the definition and attributes of the concept. Methods: The nature and definition of Koreans' spiritual health were identified through a review of the extensive literature at the theoretical stage and then compared with an analysis of the in-depth interview data conducted by the researcher in the fieldwork stage. Results: Koreans' spiritual health comprised nine attributes: awareness of the meaning and purpose of life, self-awareness, self-acceptance and recognition, self-transcendence, self-integration, harmony of relationships, self-actualization and development, the inner affective attributes of hope, happiness, fulfillment and thankful mind, and the interpersonal affective attributes of one connected mind, compassion, generosity and humility. The scope of the Absolute is expanded to 'heaven' and 'ancestors', and harmony with the community is emphasized. Conclusion: We have found that Koreans' spiritual health is important for total nursing care and that mental, social and physical health can be improved if spiritual health is promoted. Considering this point, personal and organizational efforts are needed to ensure that spiritual nursing is positively applied in community and clinical settings.

Focusing on the issue that the conventional Kernel Correlation Filter (KCF) algorithm has poor performance in handling scale change and obscured objects, this paper proposes an anti-occlusion and scale adaptive tracking algorithm in the basis of KCF. The average Peak-to Correlation Energy and the peak value of correlation filtering response are used as the confidence indexes to determine whether the target is obscured. In the case of non-occlusion, we modify the searching scheme of the KCF. Instead of searching for a target with a fixed sample size, we search for the target area with multiple scales and then resize it into the sample size to compare with the learnt model. The scale factor with the maximum filter response is the best target scaling and is updated as the optimal scale for the following tracking. Once occlusion is detected, the model updating and scale updating are stopped. Experiments have been conducted on the OTB benchmark video sequences for compassion with other state-of-the-art tracking methods. The results demonstrate the proposed method can effectively improve the tracking success rate and the accuracy in the cases of scale change and occlusion, and meanwhile ensure a real-time performance.
Purpose: This study examined the life experiences of the wives of men who were born with normal vision but gradually developed a visual impairment, with particular focus on their way of facing and coping with their life crisis. Method: A narrative approach was used to not only understand women's experiences within sociocultural contexts, but also reveal the subjective meaning of their personal life stories through their own voices. A purposive sample of three participants having husbands unexpectedly diagnosed with visual impairment during their marriage was recruited. The data were analyzed using the narrative analysis methods suggested by Clandinin and Connelly. Results: The wives took the crisis of their husbands' visual impairment as an economic crisis of the family. They faced a variety of difficulties, including extreme despair, role changes, and economic burdens. On the other hand, they tried to keep the family secure through a range of coping strategies that were motivated by compassion toward the husbands, maternal affection for the children, and a sense of responsibility for their families. Conclusion: This study revealed the need for financial support for temporarily disadvantaged families. In addition, various nursing and counseling programs for the family members will also be needed to help recover the family functions.

The free and forced vibration in addition to electric energy harvesting of a piezoelectric disk resting on two-parameter foundation modeled by modified couple stress as well as Kirchhoff plate theory is probed. The governing equations and boundary conditions are obtained using Hamilton's principle. Then, the free and forced vibration are solved using numerical solutions, generalized differential quadrature method (GDQM) and Newmark-beta method. The forced vibration is resulted from a base excitation load. Also, the possible voltage which can be harvested from this system is obtained using generalized integral quadrature method. The validity of the formulation and solution procedure is confirmed using a compassion study. The impact of parameters such as length effect, inner to outer radius ratio, and foundations parameters on the free and forced vibration as well as energy harvesting is investigated in detail. This paper can be a basis for future studies in the area of piezoelectric harvesters in small scales.
The possibility of energy harvesting as well as controlled vibration of a three-layered beam consisting of two piezoelectric layer and one core layer made of nonpiezoelectric material is investigated using paradox-free local/nonlocal theory. The three-layered nanobeam is resting on an elastic foundation and subjected to a blast load. Also, the core layer is made of Nano-composites reinforced by CNTs and carbon fibers (MHCD). Governing equations as well as boundary conditions are obtained using Hamilton,s principle. The equations discretized by Generalized Differential Quadrature Method (GDQM) and solved by Newmark beta method. In addition, two differential and integral gains are employed for controlling the forced vibration. The size-dependency of the elastic foundation is considered using two-phase elasticity. The effect of elastic foundation, control gains, nonlocal factor, as well as parameters affecting the core material on the forced vibration and energy harvesting is investigated in detail. The equations as well as solution procedure is validated utilizing some compassion studies. This work can be a basis for future studies on energy harvesting and controlled vibration in small scales.
