The illustrations of picture book for children transmit not only one image but also the summary and contents of the picture book by connecting images harmoniously. The images of picture book give children a variety of emotion and impression depending upon the location of image at various factors such as blank and form, texture and colors, and space feeling, etc. Therefore, the picture book for children has the continuity transmitting the flow of images by not only the contents of natural story but also uniform and rhythmical factors. The continuity of images can transmit images by visual ideas that are produced depending upon the connections of pictures between writings and picture, between images, and inside images. In such a way, children can understand the contents of story. The paper examines the continuity of the images of the picture book for children and describes correct expressions on harmonious connections of the images made based on children's individuality and ingenuity.

In this paper, speech enhancement using nonnegative matrix factorization with temporal continuity has been addressed. Speech and noise signals are modeled as Possion distributions, and basis vectors and gain vectors of NMF are modeled as Gamma distributions. Temporal continuity of the gain vector is known to be critical to the quality of enhanced speech signals. In this paper, temporal continiuty is implemented by adopting Gamma-Markov chain priors for noise gain vectors during the separation phase. Simulation results show that the Gamma-Markov chain models temporal continuity of noise signals and track changes in noise effectively.

Box sections are symmetrical sections and they have high moment of inertia in both directions, therefore they are good members in tall building structures. For the rigid connection in structures with box column continuity plates are used on level of beam flanges in column. Assembly of the continuity plates is a difficult and unreliable work due to lack of weld or high welding and cutting in the fourth side of column in panel zone, so the use of experimental stiffeners have been considered by researchers. This paper presented an experimental investigation on connection in box columns. The proposed connection has been investigated in four cases which contain connection without internal and external stiffeners(C-0-00), connection with continuity plates(C-I-CP), connection with external vase shape stiffener (C-E-VP) and connection with surrounding plates(C-E-SP). The results show that the connections with vase plates and surrounding plates can respectively increase the ultimate strength of the connection up to 366% and 518% than the connection without stiffeners, in case connection with the continuity plates this parameter increases about 39%. In addition, the proposed C-E-VP and C-E-SP connection provide a rigid and safe connection to acquire rigidity of 95% and 98% respectively. But C-I-CP connection is classified as semi-rigid connections.

Data Mining is mainly used for pattern extracting and information discovery from collected data. However previous methods is difficult to reflect changing patterns with time. In this paper, we introduce Streaming Decision Tree(SDT) analyzing data with continuity, large scale, and changed patterns. SDT defines continuity data as blocks and extracts rules using a Decision Tree's learning method. The extracted rules are combined considering time of occurrence, frequency, and contradiction. In experiment, we applied time series data and confirmed resonable result.

This study investigates English medium instruction (EMI) in an institution of higher education in Seoul, Korea to see whether this course creates cultural correction (reproduction of inequitable relations of power in EMI settings) or cultural continuity (opportunities for transporting students into a third space and enabling them to explore cultural diversity and to create new knowledge for themselves). A single site where EMI is carried out, a class on fairy tales and child education taught by a native English speaking professor, was chosen because it was hypothesized that the professor would display some of her unconscious dominant cultural orientation. The results of the study show that there more cases of cultural correction than there were of cultural continuity. Cases of cultural correction included lack of knowledge about the local context, fixing Korean classroom discourse as if it were American classroom discourse, and reproducing orientalism in the local educational setting. Cases of cultural continuity included using comparison to consider the cultural reality of the milieu, creating new knowledge for the local milieu, and learning as a dynamic ongoing process. Implications of this research are discussed including the important realization that EMI should be managed by subject specialists who are trained in language education and have knowledge of the students' needs and discourse in the L1 and in the local context.

In this study, the effect of superstructure-abutment continuity on the distribution of live load effects among the girders of integral abutment bridges (IABs) is investigated. For this purpose, two and three dimensional finite element models of several single-span, symmetrical integral abutment and simply supported (jointed) bridges (SSBs) are built and analyzed. In the analyses, the effect of various superstructure properties such as span length, number of design lanes, girder size and spacing as well as slab thickness are considered. The results from the analyses of two and three dimensional finite element models are then used to calculate the live load distribution factors (LLDFs) for the girders of IABs and SSBs as a function of the above mentioned parameters. LLDFs for the girders are also calculated using the AASHTO formulae developed for SSBs. Comparison of the analyses results revealed that the superstructure-abutment continuity in IABs produces a better distribution of live load effects among the girders compared to SSBs. The continuity effects become more predominant for short span IABs. Furthermore, AASHTO live load distribution formulae developed for SSBs lead to conservative estimates of live load girder moments and shears for short-span IABs.

To investigate the mechanism generated by irradiation in the insulator layer irradiated MIS (Metal - Insulator - Semiconductor) device, the various types of MIS capacitors depending on insulator thickness, insulator types and implanted impurities are fabricated on the P-type wafer. MIS capacitors exposed by 1Mrad Co$^{60}$ .gamma.-ray are measured for flat band voltage and charge density shifts pre- and post-irradiation. The measuring results of post-irradiation show the flat band voltage shifting toward negative direction and charge density increasing regardless of parameters. This results have a good agreement with calculated data by computer simulation. Si$_{3}$N$_{4}$ layers have a good radiation-hardness than SiO$_{2}$ layers compared to the results of post-irradiation. Also, radiation-induced negative trap is discovered in the implanted insulator layer. Using numerical analysis, four continuty equations (conduction-band electrons continuity equation, valence-band holes continuity equation, trapped electrons continuity equation, trapped holes continuity equation) are solved and charge distributions according to the distance and Si-Insulator interface states are investigated.

This study aims to propose a reasonable and effective kiosk operation plan for hotels planning to introduce kiosks by verifying how the quality attributes of hotel kiosks, which have recently been rapidly increasing starting with mid-priced hotels, affect customer satisfaction and relationship continuity intention. An online survey was conducted for customers using hotel kiosks. 300 copies were collected, 61 insincere responses were removed, and 239 copies were verified. As a result of the analysis, first, hotel kiosk quality attributes, display color, device design, internal UI, amount of information, display brightness and response speed were found to have a significant impact on customer satisfaction and were partially adopted. Second, in terms of relationship continuity intention, the display color, internal UI, amount of information, and response speed were found to be significant and were partially adopted. Third, customer satisfaction showed significant results in relationship continuity intention. These research results showed partial differences from previous studies on general kiosk users and restaurant kiosk users, and based on these results, academic and practical implications were derived.

This study analyzed the current operational status, business continuity, and business continuity strategies of 11 Soho fashion shopping malls through a longitudinal case study (2019/2020 and 2022/2023). The aim was to determine how Soho fashion shopping malls are continuing their business having been successfully established in the fiercely competitive current online fashion market. Regarding changes in shopping mall operation status, all cases displayed changes in items, distribution channels, marketing channels, core values, and profit structures. After establishing the businesses, a crisis arose due to the COVID-19 pandemic, leading to difficulties in creating new customers. Moreover, there was excessive business expansion, resulting in saturation of the online platform store market. This meant companies were experiencing reduced sales (5) or difficulties in maintaining their business (3). However, there were differences in the direction of overcoming the crisis and continuing or converting the business. These revealed that to continue the business after successful establishment of an online fashion shopping mall, it is essential to have the expertise of entrepreneurs, work performance, and marketing ability, as well as differentiation capabilities such as product power and management strategy and core competitiveness that provides a relative advantage over other shopping malls. Customized government support at the level of the start-up ecosystem is also essential for the survival and business continuity of a SOHO online fashion shopping mall with poor human and material resources.

We introduce the notions of bigeneralized topological spaces and quasi generalized open sets, and study some basic properties for the sets. We also introduce the notion of quasi generalized continuity on bigeneralized topological spaces, and investigate characterizations for the continuity.
