Yates' continuity correction of the chi-squared test for testing the homogeneity of two binomial proportions in $2{\times}2$ contingency tables is developed to lower the value of the test statistic slightly. The effect of continuity correction is expected to decrease as the sample size increases. However, in extremely unbalanced $2{\times}2$ contingency tables, we find some cases where the effect of continuity correction is eccentric and is larger than expected. In such cases, we conclude that the chi-squared test with continuity correction should not be employed as a test statistic in both asymptotic tests and exact tests.

In this study, we analyzed and experimented about electric continuity for human body safety from green cars. And we compared power systems of HEV and examined about human body effect of current and time. We investigated internal and external standards and regulations for human body safety from high voltage electrical equipments. Indirect contact refers to contact between the human body and exposed conductive parts. According to UNECE R100, ISO 23273-3, ISO 6469-3 and Japanese Regulation Attachment 101, electric continuity between any two exposed conductive parts shall not exceed $0.1{\Omega}$. The value of electric continuity was measured below $0.1{\Omega}$ at the actual condition of green car. We expected that the results of these experiments can utilize to data for electrical safety of green car.

Compared to other business discipline, business continuity is relatively new. In this post 9/11 era, we still do not have a meaningful tool to objectively and consistently measure the organization's disaster-readiness. The purpose of this study is to introduce various processes included in the business continuity management (BCM) and introduce the business continuity program maturity model(BCMM). The BCMM can serve two purposes: First, it provides a diagnostic tool for objective evaluation of BCM effectiveness. Second, it can suggest ways of improvement for the business continuity program by generating data from which meaningful benchmark analyses could be drawn.

This paper presents a novel approach for constructing a piecewise triangular cubic polynomial surface with $C^1$ continuity around a common corner vertex. A $C^1$ continuity condition between two cubic triangular patches is first derived using mixed directional derivatives. An approach for constructing a surface with $C^1$ continuity around a corner is then developed. Our approach is easy and fast with the virtue of cubic reproduction, local shape controllability, $C^2$ continuous at the corner vertex. Some experimental results are presented to show the applicability and flexibility of the approach.

In this paper, the effects of earth continuity conductor are deeply analyzed for reducing the level of induced sheath voltage at the single point bonded sections. The various installation conditions of an earth continuity conductor are considered including conductor dimensions, its spacing from the three phase cables, and utilization of two earth continuity conductors when the grounding fault occurs on real power cable systems. Finally, the transient characteristics including reduction effects of induced sheath voltage are proved by EMTP simulations. The optimal installation condition of earth continuity conductor is also proposed based on those results.

This paper describes the experiments to examine the sense of continuity produced by lighting between physically separated spaces. Tolerable limits of illuminance were measured for providing a sense of continuity between two rooms connected by a window. In the experiments the illuminance and color of lighting of the subjects room were changed while those of the other room were kept constant. The results show that the observers could certainly determine the range of optimum illuminance for them to recognize continuity, and the variance of the results between observers is very small. Moreover, the tolerable range of illuminance was almost constant as far as the color difference was less than some critical value. This finding would be helpful in designing a lighting system for providing a sense of continuity.

The dynamic adaptation between various service environments using the application profiles for the service continuity is a key issue of the profile-based service continuity framework (PSCF) for N-screen service using next generation networks. PSCF offers an optimized service framework for providing continuous user services, which are multimedia video streaming, educational broadcasting, game, etc., using the various devices that are not restricted by the service environment of the user. This paper specifies the functional model of PSCF, service scenario and explains the experimental results of the service continuity for N-screen service using PSCF.

In this paper, fuzzy ${\alpha}^*$-set, fuzzy C-set, fuzzy AB-set, fuzzy t-set, fuzzy B-set, etc., are introduced in the sense of Sostak [12] and Ramadan [9]. By using these sets, a decomposition of fuzzy continuity and complete fuzzy continuity are provided. Characterization of smooth fuzzy extremally disconnected spaces is also obtained in this connection.

In this paper, we introduce the concept of fuzzy r-generalized almost continuous mapping and obtain some characterizations of such a mapping. In particular, we investigate characterizations for the fuzzy r-generalized almost continuity by using the concept of fuzzy r-generalized regular open sets.

In this paper, we first analysis definition of continuity of functions in high school textbooks, the mathematics high school curriculum and university mathematics textbooks. We surveyed what was causing the students to struggle in their concept image of continuity of functions. We arrived at that students' concept for errors in images of continuity of function were caused by definition of continuity of functions in high school textbooks.
