The purpose of this study is to build a model of inter-library cooperation's network in the information of library materials. Results of this study are 1. The YTational Assembly Library and the Central National I, ibrar:; should be unified. 2. The unified organization should be organized its cooperative quarter for itself (in the Central National Library). .And every library should he organized his quarter and personnel for the inter-library cooperation. 3. The cooperatior, organization in the re~ion should organized by the Regional Central Public Library. 4. In case of the Central National Library, financial problems required of the performance in the inter-library cooperation should he charged equally among the Central National Library, the library belong to the reader and the reader. In case of the regional Central Public Library, it should be charged equally arnozlg the regional Central Public Library, the library belon-g' to the reader and the reader. 5. The Regional Central Public Library in the seat of provincial government should be managed the cooperation's work of the individual library, and upward the unified Central Xarional Library should generalize. 6. The purchase of materials should be done by the character of the each library 1r:ith the assignment of the each subject should be decided in the meeting of the each library personne!. -2nd the budget for purchasing per the year should be decided on the minimum by the circumstances of the each library regionally. 7. The unified Regional Central Public Library in the seat of provincial government should be charged of the Union Catalog's expense regionally, and the Central National Library should be charged of that National Union Catalog's expense to cumulative the Fegional Union Catalog within a definite period of time. 8. Books without presentation of a specimen copy to the unified Central National Library should be purchased, and r.cr 'oe included to the National Union Catalog. 9. The cooperation of the each library should be decided on the law, and considered the character of the each region.

The purpose of this paper is to investigate search efficiency of controlled vocabulary versus uncontrolled vocabulary subject access in online catalog systems. The question of the effectiveness of controlled versus uncontrolled vocabulary in information retrieval has been raised in many literatures. A debate continues in the Library and Information Science Professions over the relative merit, appropriateness, and efficiency of uncontrolled vocabulary subject access in online catalog systems. Actually users used to combine uncontrolled vocabulary subject searching with controlled vocabulary subject searching. But the success of user's subject search depends on his choice of search terms. Also the technical developments that facilitate cooperation among information services in general make it increasingly possible for such cooperation to take place on an international level. In this study, several common types of vocabularies on online catalog systems are described and compared, especially usages of vocabularies in multilingual environment are analyzed.

This study propose the union cataloging based on wiki cataloging method which guarantee the quality of imported bibliographic data by outsourcing. Wiki cataloging means to improves a quality of union catalog used the cooperation of librarians who have the knowledge and experience to the cataloging. The methods are 1) policy of wiki cataloging 2) development of wiki systems 3) establishment of wiki cataloging rule based on advanced librarian cooperation. Especially, advanced librarian take charge of an 245, 260, 300 fields as basic bibliographical elements, general librarians participate expanded fields.

The e-Marketplace is growing rapidly and providing a more complex relationship between providers and consumers. In recent years, e-Marketplace integration or cooperation issues have become an important issue in e-Business. The e-Catalog is a key factor in e-Business, which means an e-Catalog System needs to contain more large data and requires a more efficient retrieval system. This paper focuses on designing an efficient retrieval system for very large e-Catalogs of large e-Marketplaces. For this reason, a new similarity measure for e-Catalog retrieval based on semantic relationships was proposed. Our achievement is this: first, a new e-Catalog data model based on semantic relationships was designed. Second, the model was extended by considering lexical features (Especially, focus on Korean). Third, the factors affecting similarity with the model was defined. Fourth, from the factors, we finally defined a new similarity measure, realized the system and verified it through experimentation.

The purpose of this study is to evaluate current library cooperation system and to identify what fields should be cooperated with other libraries. A survey and group interviews are used for research method. The results show that only under 30% of respondents estimated the success of library cooperation system. The system needs to be changed. Online catalog and DB are evaluated as important fields, while the shared/cooperation acquisition is evaluated as less important field in current cooperation system. Also, education cooperation, the cooperation of education and culture programs, and advertisement cooperation are more necessary. The shared/cooperation acquisition is less necessary in library cooperation filed. The membership libraries of cooperation systems and library location are affected to responses as a factor. This study proposes two library cooperation systems: upload library cooperation system and download library cooperation system.

전자상거래의 급격한 확산으로 상품에 대한 많은 전자카달로그들이 만들어지고 있다. 이러한 전자카달로그들은 통일성이 결여되어 있어 이를 표준화시키기 위한 많은 연구가 이루어지고 있다. 본 논문에서도 이를 위한 일환으로 XML과 JAVA를 이용한 전자카달로그의 모델을 제시했고, 이 모델에 따라 만들어진 전자카달로그를 활용한 전자상점을 구현하였다.

In the modem information society any library can not meet the need of its user without cooperation with other libraries. After the Second World War the old West Germany in the general kept the traditional library system, but (the library system of) the old Estern Germany was influenced by the Soviet Union. The East and West Germany have developed their library interlending system on their own way, but their system was based on the regional principle. After the Unification the library interlending system of two parts of Germany is on the way to an uniform system. Above all East Germany libraries must now collect the materials which they could not buy during about 40 years due to the ideological aspect and lacking financial resources. The Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft tries here to help the East German libraries. Before reaching the final settlment of two different library interrlending rules the East and West German libraries temporary serve their user on the previous way, it means in the regional princeple. During this periode the East and West German libraries agree to cooperate on the base of partnership between their regional central catalog. If the East German user's wish can not be satisfied in the East German library, then this wish is sent to its Western partner regional central catalog.

This study investigated collection status, characteristics of their collections, and service of five institutions holding modern public records such as museums, archives and libraries in Korea. Investigation found out that most of them lack total catalog of their collections and provide limited on-line service. In addition, there was a case that one record group from the same provenance is separatedly preserved at two to three institutions. As a result of the investigation, it is suggested that cooperation among museum, archives, and research institutes will be necessary in order to arrange and use modern public records scattered in each institution.

The issue of the cataloging the electronic resources have been vigorously presented recently because of many problems involved in it. The study aims to examine the various formats of the electronic resources mainly centering around the internet as well as the need for cooperative cataloging of the resources. In addition, the study attempts to analyse the CORC of OCLC and the PCC of LC. Based on these, the cooperative cataloging system for online electronic resources in Korea is suggested.

In order to re-activation of shared cataloging, spirit of community and cooperation are most needed. But proper compensation about contribution would motivate. Through representing basic data for making compensation policy about university library's share cataloging system, this study analyzes activities about contribution and utilization of participated libraries. To put it concretely, this study considers overall status of contribution and utilization through descriptive statistics and analyzes relationship between both sides. Furthermore through clustering participating library, this study brightened the libraries that ought to be compensated and who would be need to be specially rewarded. And draw the libraries that need to be paid and need to be led for active participation of shared cataloging.
