  • The wooden cultural assets have the characteristics such as the fast spread of flame and leading to total destruction. Therefore, there is a need for a system for early countermeasure of recognized problem, along with the technological response for accurately recognizing the situation, for the prevention and early suppression of fire. To utilize such technology for detecting the situation through the latest ubiquitous technology and for a quick response to suppress fire, the ubiquitous sensor network (USN) technology, flame detector, image sensor, USN-based cultural asset disaster prevention management application case and malfunction identification system realization were examined in this study and the study result was presented focusing on the flame detector malfunction identification system for the ubiquitous-type cultural asset disaster prevention system.

A Study on the Improvement of the Mast Design for Wind Detector (풍향풍속 검출기 마스트 설계 개선에 관한 연구)

  • During the sea trial test for the aerovane in AOE-II, a malfunction occurred in the wind detector movement around 40 to 90° on the starboard side and around 270 to 320° on the port side. The purpose of this study was to analyze and improve the cause of the above phenomenon. The wind detector was covered with a mast structure and was not affected directly by the blowing wind, and a vortex air current was formed behind the mast structure, causing the motion malfunction. The above problem was solved by moving and installing the wind detector on the newly installed mast yard. After conducting vibration analysis and reviewing the effects of vibration, the wind detector was installed in the new mast yard and verified by a sea trial test. Since the improvement plan was slightly effective, the position of the wind detector moved away from the mast on the new mast yard and was re-verified through a sea trial test. The movement malfunction of the wind detector did not occur, confirming that it is an appropriate improvement plan.

Experiment study on the Responsiveness of Spot- Type Heat Detector (열 감지기의 응답특성에 관한 시험연구)

  • The spot-type heat detector is a main component of the automatic fire alarm system intended to signal when heat energy is produced in protected area. The most of protected area in our country is installed spot-type heat detector. On this study, the responsiveness to the change of environmental temp. of spot-type heat detec-tor were obtained and analyzed under specified temp., velocity in accordance with the KOFEIS stan-dard. The experiment was carried under the condition with the change of environmental temp. Concluion of this study is as follows : 1. It was confirmed that the responsiveness of rate-of rise heat detector is sensitive to temp. below 10 degrees above zero. The malfunction appeared at 40 degrees above zero and intended performance is disqualified at 50 degrees above zero. 2. The intended performance of fixed-temp. detector which is maintained for the change of envi-ronmental temp. But the responsiveneness is confirmed instability for the change of environmental temp.

  • There is needed the triple pyroelectric Infrared flame detector to really recognize problem, for the prevention and early suppression of fire. This system recognizes the characteristics of fire sources in various type and is communicated the message to the operators. Therefore, the prevention and early suppression of fire is available. Especially this paper focuss on development of the self diagnosis type flame detector for preventing malfunction comparing of basic and detected values.

  • The infrared, flame detector uses to detect fire situation from the characteristics of fire sources radiant energy. But it is able to malfunction on account of susceptible to interference of various surrounding waves. This paper is designed 6 independent PCB-boards to minimize the closed loops of siginal circuit. Also considering the interaction of electric and magnetic fields, this paper is designed protecting circuit of current and voltage output to reduced electromagnetic interference. And this paper is improving electromagnetic susceptibility by ferrite bid, capacitor filter and grounding circuits.

  • This paper is a study to solve the malfunction of Fire Detection System and to react swiftly in case of fire. if a fire occurs because of malfunction of the fire receiver, it may not be possible to respond appropriately. in order to solve this problem, Fire Detection System using IoT, the manager studied the method of confirming the fire occurrence with mobile phone Application. We propose a wireless Fire Detection System by building a server and a client using a micom and a mobile phone application. This is to reduce the damage caused by the fire.

A Study on Response Characteristics of Photoelectric Type Smoke Detector Chamber Due to Dust and Wind Velocity (분진 및 풍속에 따른 광전식연기감지기 챔버의 응답특성에 관한 연구)

  • The present article discusses the response characteristics of smoke detector chamber due to dust and wind velocity. Although situations have improved in terms of early sensing of fires as the smoke detectors are applied indoors, studies tend to place insufficient focus on the side effects and malfunction that can be caused by diversified life dust produced indoors and environmental requirements, etc. Therefore, in the present study, 4 types of photoelectric smoke detectors with different forms and structures of smoke chamber were selected as the experimental objects, and dust test was conducted with fly ash, talcum powder and fiber dust as experiment samples to study indoor applicability of the smoke detectors in terms of their response to diversified dust and wind velocity. Also, to observe response characteristics due to pollution level inside the smoke chamber, wind velocity for dust test were set additionally at 0.25 m/s, 0.5 m/s, and 1.0 m/s. Based to the experimental results, fly ash, talcum powder, and fiber dust (black hair powder) were found to be suitable at the dust test reference wind velocity conditions of 0.25 m/s for both operation test and non-operation test after dust application. On the other hand, under the harsh wind velocity conditions of 0.5 m/s and 1.0 m/s, malfunction of unwanted alarm was observed in non-operation tests in the case of fly ash and talcum powder, and non-operation was confirmed to occur in the case of fiber dust as the alarm failed to operate normally in operation tests.

  • This paper was carried out to survey fire hazard and improvement at the drain pump in air-conditioners. Based on the results of analysis, the proposal of electrical accidents prevention and a construction improvement are as follows. A power connection of the drain pump has two types, an electrical outlet type and direct connection type at control board of air-conditioner. The electrical outlet types need a bulletin sign or education as malfunction of the drain pump include an additional accidents, current leakage and overflowing with water on the floor from breaker trip by exterior cause and breaker off by mistake of worker. On the other hand, the direct connection types prevent a power interruption as exterior cause, but it has some trouble, cut of ground cable and without protection device. Usually it doesn't work by electrician when air-conditioner and the drain pump power work. Therefore an education or countermeasures are recommended for not electrician. Generally malfunction of the drain pump causes accumulated materials into the tank. Even though the accumulated materials lead to an overheating and burning as failure of detector occur an idling, periodic inspection of the air-conditioner filter and the drain pump tank prevent the trouble.

  • Traffic speed data may be missed due to detector malfunction or network problems. In this paper we have proposed effective methods to estimate the data which could not be collected through loop detectors. Our proposed algorithm has three steps. First step is to find the most similar neighbor data record by coefficient of correlation. Second step is to make some data records which is calculated by the 5 kinds of estimation methods. Third step is to compare the data records with history data record of observation link and thus the best method is selected. The proposed method is useful for estimating travel time.

  • Adversarial attack is a technique that causes a malfunction of classification models by adding noise that cannot be distinguished by humans, which poses a threat to a deep learning model. In this paper, we propose an efficient method to detect adversarial images using Gaussian process regression. Existing deep learning-based adversarial detection methods require numerous adversarial images for their training. The proposed method overcomes this problem by performing classification based on the statistical features of adversarial images and clean images that are extracted by Gaussian process regression with a small number of images. This technique can determine whether the input image is an adversarial image by applying Gaussian process regression based on the intermediate output value of the classification model. Experimental results show that the proposed method achieves higher detection performance than the other deep learning-based adversarial detection methods for powerful attacks. In particular, the Gaussian process regression-based detector shows better detection performance than the baseline models for most attacks in the case with fewer adversarial examples.
