  • A reliable set of low-energy electron collision cross sections for the triethoxysilane (TRIES) molecule was derived based on the measured electron transport coefficients for a pure TRIES molecule by using an electron swarm method and a two-term approximation of the Boltzmann equation. The electron transport coefficients calculated using the derived set are in good agreement with experimental value over a wide range of E/N values (ratio of the electric field E to the neutral number density N). The present electron collision cross section set for the TRIES molecule, therefore, is the most reliable so far for plasma discharges and for materials processing using the TRIES molecule. Moreover, the electron transport coefficients for the TRIES-Ar and the $TRIES-O_2$ mixtures were also calculated and analyzed over a wide range of E/N for the first time.

  • The influence of respiration on photosythetic electron transport were investigated in the Wid type and psaB mutants from Syneehocystis sp. PCC6803. The amount of glucose uptake in the wild type was proportional to the glucose concentration added in wild type and less than that of psaB mutants in the dark. It was suggested that psaB mutants more depend on the glucose than the wild type. It was investigated how the activities of isocitrate dehydrogenase(IDH) and glucose-6-phos-phate dehydrogenase(G6PDH) were changed. The activities of IDH were very low. While, the ac-tivities of G6PDH were much higher than that of IDH. These results agree to the reports that ex-ogenous glucose was dismilated aerobically via Oxidative Pentose Phosphate Pathway in heterotrophic cyanobacteria. PsaB mutants showed high G6PDH activity in the presence of glucose as well as in the dark and high respiratory activities especially in the dark. It was also investigated how photosynthetic electron transport activities were changed. PsaB mutants showed higher photosynthetic electron tranasport activities than wild type in the presence of glucose as well as in the dark. In the results, it was proposed that photosynthetic electron transport between PS I and PS U was complemented by respiratory electron transport through the NADPH generated by Dxidative Pentose Phophate Pathway in psaB mutant from Synechocystis sp. PCC6803. Key words: Photosynthetic electron transport, Respiration, Synechoystis sp. PCC6803, psaB mutant, Glucose uptake, IDH, G6PDH, Respiratory electron transport activity.

  • We synthesized a spirobenzofluorene type phosphine oxide (SPPO2) as a new triplet host and an universal electron transport material for phosphorescent organic light-emitting diodes(PHOLEDs). Red PHOLEDs with the SPPO2 host material showed a high quantum efficiency of 14.3 % with a current efficiency of 20.4 cd/A. In addition, the SPPO2 could be applied as an electron transport material which can be matched with any host material due to the lowest unoccupied molecular orbital of 2.4 eV. Electron injection from a cathode to the SPPO2 electron transport layer was better than common electron transport materials. In particular, the SPPO2 was effective as the electron transport material in blue PHOLEDs and the quantum efficiency was more than doubled and driving voltage was lowered by more than 3 V using the SPPO2 instead of common electron transport material.

  • In this paper, electron drift velocity is experimentally measured in SF$_{6}$+N$_{2}$ Gas by induced cur-rent method and quantitaive production of electron transport coefficient is calculated by backward-prolongation of Boltzmann equation. Then electron energy distribution function and attachment coefficients are calculated. This paper can use the electron drift velocity by experimentally and the electron transport coefficient by calculated as a basic data of mixed Gas by comparing and investigating.g.

  • The electron transport coefficients in argon gas is studied over the range of E/N values from 85 to 566 Td by the Monte Carlo method considering the latest cross section data. The result of the Monte Carlo method analysis shows that the value of the electron transport coefficients such as the electron drift velocity, the ratio of the longitudinal and transverse diffusion coefficients to the mobility. It is also found that the electron transport coefficients calculated by the two-term approximation analysis agree well with those by Monte Carlo calculation. The electron energy distributions function were analysed in argon at E/N=283, and 566 Td for a case of the equilibrium region in the mean electron energy. A momentum transfer cross section for the argon atom which was consistent with both of the present electron transport coefficients was derived over the range of mean electron energy from 10.3 to 14.5 eV, also suggested as a set of electron cross section for argon atom. The validity of the results obtained has been confirmed by a Monte Carlo simulation method.

  • The effects of simetryne on light induced electron transport and phosphorylation in isolated spinach (Spinacia oleracea L.) chloroplasts were investigated in comparison with sencor and DCMU. Simetryne, like sencor and DCMU, completely, inhibited PSII electron transport and phosphoryltion with 10-6 M treatment but did not inhibit PSI electron transport. Interference with the electron transport pathway was evidenced by the greater sensitivity of oxygen evolution and uptake than phosphorylation. The following order of decreasing inhibitory effectiveness was exihibited; DCMU>simetryne>sencor. The photoacoustic technique was also used to monitor the relative photosynthetic activity in the leaves treated with the herbicides (simetryne, sencor or DCMU) in vivo and in vitro. Photoacoustic measurements on intact leaves provide quantitative information on two related aspects of the photosynthetic process, namely, photochemical energy storage and oxygen evolution. The relative photoacoustic signal of leaves treated with the herbicides showed low level in 21 Hz, but high level in 380 Hz and on isolated chloroplasts (both 21 Hz and 380 Hz) in comparison with that of the untreated leaves. These results suggest that some of photochemical energy is converted into the heat owing to the inhibition of electorn transport pathway by the herbicides.

  • The core/shell of nanowires (NWs) with Cu-doped CdSe quantum dots were fabricated as an electron transport layer (ETL) for perovskite solar cells, based on ZnO/TiO2 arrays. We presented CdSe with Cu2+ dopants that were synthesized by a colloidal process. An improvement of the recombination barrier, due to shell supplementation with Cu-doped CdSe quantum dots. The enhanced cell steady state was attributable to TiO2 with Cu-doped CdSe QD supplementation. The mechanism of the recombination and electron transport in the perovskite solar cells becoming the basis of ZnO/TiO2 arrays was investigated to represent the merit of core/shell as an electron transport layer in effective devices.

  • Recent molecular genetics studies have revealed that cyclic electron transport around photosystem I is essential for normal photosynthesis and growth of plants. Chloroplastic NAD(P)H dehydorgenase (NDH) complex, a homologue of the complex I in respiratory electron transport, is involved in one of two cyclic pathways. Recent studies on the function and structure of the NDH complex are reviewed.

  • The electron transport coefficients, the electron drift velocity W, the longitudinal diffusion coefficient $ND_L$ and $D_L/{\mu}$, in pure $CO_2$ were calculated over the wide E/N range from 0.01 to 500 Td at 1 Torr by two-term approximation of the Boltzmann equation for determination of electron collision cross sections set and for quantitative characteristic analysis of $CO_2$ molecular gas. And for propriety of two-term approximation of Boltzmann equation analysis, the calculated results compared with the electron transport coefficients measured by Nakamura.
