However, there are still limitations to applying them as apparel materials, and research on the recognition of 3D printing or the preference for fashion products is needed to actually commercialize 3D printing in the fashion industry. In this study on the development of various product designs using 3D printing technology in the fashion industry, an analysis of 255 questionnaires was conducted to determine the preferences and purchase intention trends of fashion product design using 3D printing for college students. Data analysis was performed with IBM SPSS Statistics (V.24). 'Fashion sensitive pursuit', 'Individuality & brand pursuit' and 'Functional convenience' was interested in fashion accessories using 3D printing technology and customized fashion apparel products using 3D printing. 'Functional Convenience-oriented' and 'Practical Purchasing-oriented' type showed that the functionality and durability of products made using 3D printing technology were important. And 'Individuality pursuit' type indicated that design and applied materials were important when producing products using 3D printing technology.

One of them was in-depth interview with six people in different life situation. The other was focus group interview. Interviewees were asked to explain about two types of questions: (1) the brand name which interviewees had bought and (2) the description of interviewees' feeling and thought for the brand which the interviewees had bought assuming the brand was the person. All interviews were recorded and analyzed. Finally, it was proved that fashion product consumers had various kinds of relationship with brands, and BRQ facets including 'love', 'self-connection', 'nostalgia', 'intimacy', 'trust', 'commitment', 'symbol', and 'mystery' were identified.

  • As mobile phone has acquired a status of a fashion item expressing one's character, it is necessary to understand the fashion needs for this new fashion product. The purpose of this study was to apply the fashion orientation construct developed in the clothing research field to mobile phone and explore its validity. The multi-dimensional construct of fashion orientation which most widely represented the fashion aspects was examined for the two product categories of clothing and mobile phone. Data were collected from an online questionnaire survey, and a total of 1,136 responses were analyzed. The construct structure of fashion orientation of mobile phone resulted in individuality, innovation, and fashion was different from that of clothing extracted to interest/importance, fashion/innovation, and individuality. Fashion sensitivity and an early adoption of a new product were two different dimensions in mobile phone while not separable in clothing. Despite a higher predictability of the fashion/innovation orientation of clothing on fashion orientation rather than on innovation orientation of mobile phone, innovation orientation was more important to purchase behaviors of mobile phone. The study still implies that it is valid to use clothing fashion innovative consumers for mobile phone marketing.
