Feedback Linearization Control of Grid-Interactive PWM Converters with LCL Filters

  • This paper proposes a feedback linearization control scheme of AC/DC PWM converters with LCL input filters using no damping resisters. Feedback linearization techniques use a transformation from nonlinear system models into equivalent linear models in a simpler form. The feedback linearization scheme in this work has cascade structures unlike usual feedback linearization, therefore it has an advantage that it is possible to limit the capacitor current to a certain level. The performance of the proposed controller is validated with simulation and experimental results.

  • The dynamic feedback is well-known to be much more powerful tool in control than the static one. This paper deals with the dynamic feedback linearization of the nonlinear systems which are not (static) feedback linearizable. The dynamic feedback linearization problem is however too difficult to solve at momemt. Thus we introduce a restricted class of the dynamic feedback (pure integrators followed by the static feedback) which is often used to study the problems using dynamic feedback and obtain the necessary and sufficient conditions of the linearization problem using this class of the dynamic feedback.

  • The implementation of Nonlinear Feedback Linearization control for Electro-Magnetic Suspension system is presented. The controller using TMS320C31 DSP chip was proposed and the experiments were performed Control law for EMS system using feedback linearization is derived and implemented in the DSP. Some tests were constructed far experimental comparison between feedback linearization and classical state feedback The experimental results demonstrate that the feedback linearization controller shows bettor performance than that of the classical state feedback controller and it is robust with respect to disturbance and parameter variation, though some steady-state errors appear.

  • In this Paper, the design of a feedback linearization controller using multilayer neural network is proposed. The Proposed feedback linearization control scheme is designed by finding Lie derivatives from an identified neural networks. Lie derivatives are expressed as a combination of weights and neuron outputs. The proposed method is applied to an antenna arm problem and the simulation results show performance comparisons between the ordinary feedback linearization and the Proposed method.

  • This paper studies on the feedback linearization of the looper system for hot strip mills, where the looper system plays an important role in regulating the strip tension. Firstly, nonlinear dynamic equations of the looper system are simply introduced. Secondly, using the static feedback linearization algorithm, a linear model of the looper system is obtained, of which usefulness is validated from comparison between the linear model and the nonlinear model, and design of LQI(Linear Ouadratic Integral optimal control) and ILQ (Inverse Linear Quadratic optimal control) looper control systems.   • This paper presents a study on nonlinear time varying systems based on differential geometry. A brief introduction about controllability and involutivity will be presented.   • In this paper, the synchronous generator model which is derived from the swing equation and the Park's equation is transformed to an adequate form for feedback linearization. And the single controller is designed in order to play the role of both PSS and AVR. The result of the simulations shows that the stability of the system is guaranteed in the wide range of operating points.

  • Electromagnetic levitation system(EMLS) is one of the well known nonlinear systems. Often, it is not easy to control an EMLS due to its high nonlinearity. In this paper, we first apply two linearization method(jacobian and input-output feedback linearization) to design two feedback controllers for an EMLS. Then, by observing the advantages of each controller, we design a switching control algorithm which engage two controllers depending on the position of the steel ball in order to achieve the improved performance over each controller. The validity of our switching control approach is verified via both simulation and actual experimental results.

Feedback Linearization Control of the Looper System in Hot Strip Mills

  • This paper studies on the linearization of a looper system in hot strip mills, that plays an important role in regulating a strip tension or a strip width. Nonlinear dynamic equations of the looper system are analytically linearized by a static feedback linearization algorithm with a compensator. The proposed linear model of the looper is validated by a comparison with a linear model using Taylor's series. It is shown that the linear model by static feedback well describes nonlinearities of the looper system than one using Taylor's series. Furthermore, it is shown from the design of an ILQ controller that the linear model by static feedback is very useful in designing a linear controller of the looper system.
