전기장이 튜브내 예혼합화염 전파속도에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구 (Effect of Electric Fields on Flame Speed of Propagating Premixed Flames in Tube)

  • The effect of electric fields on flame speed has been investigated experimentally by observing propagating premixed flames in a tube for methane/air mixtures. The flame speeds were measured in both the normal and micro gravity conditions to substantiate the measurements. The results show that the flame speeds were enhanced by both the AC and DC electric fields, as the flame approached to the high voltage electrode located on the one end of the tube. The enhancement of flame speed was proportional to the square root of the electric field intensity, defined as the voltage applied divided by the distance of flame from the high voltage electrode, when the electric field intensity is sufficiently large. When the electric field intensity was low, there existed critical intensities, below which the electric fields did not influence the flame speed. This critical electric field intensity correlated well with the flame speed.

  • The effect of DC electric fields on the flame extinction was investigated experimentally in counterflow configurations for the methane/oxygen/nitrogen diffusion flame. The electric fields was applied by connecting the high voltage and ground terminals to the upper and lower burners, respectively. In case of having electric fields, several modes of flame extinction was observed according to the electric field intensity and strain rate defined by the exit velocity. To visualize and characterize the flame structure and intensity, planar LIF technique was adopted for OH radicals. Consequently, several length scales, including the flame width, thickness, and height from the burner tip, were introduced to explain the various flame behaviors and to characterize the flame extinctions. It was found that the variation of flame width and the chemical reaction are strongly related to a critical electric field intensity, thus the various modes of diffusion flame extinction could be observed due to the electric fields.

  • This paper describes a rotation-type field mill to measure the electric field intensity caused by thunderclouds on the ground level. The field mill developed is consisted of two isolated electrode vanes, a grounded stator and a rotor. To develop a high sensitive field mill, the principles and design rules of a rotation-type field mill are studied. Also, two types of calibration system, such as a cylindrical guard electrodes and a parallel-plate electrodes, are proposed to determine the sensitivity and frequency bandwidth of the field mill. From the calibration experiment, the frequency bandwidth and the sensitivity of the field mill arc DC ∼ 200 [MHz] and 0.267 [mV/Vm], respectively. Therefore, it can measure the electric field intensity from 73[V/m] to 18.7[kV/m].

  • In this paper, electromagnetic waves were measured in accordance with propagating the discharge when positive and negative DC high voltage was applied to needle-plane electrdes and plane-plane electrdes that solid dielectric was inserted between the electrodes. The radiated electromagnetic waves were investigated in bandwidth of VHF($30{\sim}230$[MHz]) using an biconical antenna. In needle-plane electrodes high electric field intensity is shown in both frequency band of 90(MHz) and 170[MHz], and gradually decreasing characteric is appeared at high frequency band. However high electric field intensity is shown in both 80[MHz] and 140[MHz] in case of plane-plane electrodes configuration. And over 150[MHz] frequency band, rapidly decreasing characteristic is shown. Moreover, electric field intensity of positive DC is about $5{\sim}10$[dB] higher than negative DC.

Output Voltage Characteristics of HVDC Electric Field Mill Sensor for Different Speed Variables of Rotating Electrode

  • This paper explains the effects of the weak signal of a rotating-type electric field mill sensor fabricated for measuring the intensity of the electric field generated by high-voltage direct current (HVDC) power transmission lines. The fabricated field mill consists of two isolated electrode vanes, a motor driver, and a ground part. The sensor plate is exposed to and shielded from the electric field by means of a rotary shutter consisting of a motor-driven mechanically complementary rotor/stator pair. When the uncharged sensor plate is exposed to an electric field, it becomes charged. The rotating electrode consists of several conductive vanes and is connected to the ground part, so that it is shielded. Determining the appropriate design variables such as the speed of the vane, its shape, and the distance between the two electrodes, is essential for ensuring optimal performance. By varying the speed, the weak signal characteristics which is used to signal processing and calibration experiment are quite different. Each weak signal pattern was analyzed along with the output voltage characteristics, in order to be able to determine the intensity of the electric field generated by HVDC power transmission lines with accuracy.

  • The electric property in the $GaAs-Al_{x}Ga_{1-x}$ quantum well with the Si ${\delta}-doping$ layer in a non-central position is studied through the effect of the electric field intensity on the electron distribution. The finite difference method is used for the calculation of the subband energy level and its wavefunction. In order to account for the change of the potential energy due to the charged particles, the self consistent method is employed. As the Si ${\delta}-doping$ layer becomes closer to the heterojunction interface, the electrons less affected by Coulomb scattering are greatly increased under the external electric field. Therefore, the high speed device is suggested due to the fact that the high mobility electrons can be increased by positioning the ${\delta}-doping$ layer in the quantum well and by applying the electric field intensity.

고전압 전력기기 개발을 위한 기중 절연파괴특성 분석에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Lightning Impulse Dielectric Characteristics of Air for the Development of Air-Insulated High Voltage Apparatuses)

  • The accidents caused by dielectric instability have been increasing in power grid. It is important to enhance the dielectric reliability of a high voltage apparatus to reduce the damage from electrical hazards. To develop an electrically reliable high voltage apparatus, the experimental study on the electrical breakdown field strength is indispensable, as well as theoretical approach. In this paper, the lightning impulse breakdown characteristics considering utilization factors are studied for the establishment of insulation design criteria of an high voltage apparatus. The utilization factors are represented as the ratio of mean electric field to maximum electric field. Dielectric experiments are performed by using several kinds of sphere-plane electrode systems made of stainless steel. As a result, it is found that dielectric characteristics are affected by not only maximum electric field intensity but also utilization factors of electrode systems. The results are expected to be applicable to designing the air-insulated high voltage apparatuses.

전력선통신을 위한 고압 배전선로의 방사전계강도 계산 (Calculation of Radiative Electric Field Intensity of Overhead Medium-Voltage Power lines for Power Line Communication)

  • 본 논문에서는 전력선 통신을 위해 사용되는 고압 배전선로에서 통신신호 및 잡음신호에 의해 방사되는 방사전계강도를 계산하였다. 전력선 통신 네트워크의 2포트 등가모델 및 기본적인 전송선로 이론을 이용해 입력임피던스를 계산하였다. 그리고 계산된 입력임피던스를 이용해 전력선상 전류를 계산하고 최종적으로 방사전계강도를 계산하였다. 전력선의 특성임피던스가 매우커서 입력 단에서의 반사가 심하기 때문에 입력임피던스는 일정한 주기를 가지는 정재파 형태를 가진다. 계산된 전류 및 방사전계 또한 이러한 형태임을 알 수 있었다. 실제 측정한 결과계산 치와 측정치가 매우 유사함을 알 수 있었다.

변압기와 GIS 주변에서 전장과 자장 분포의 특성 (Characteristics of Electric and Mgnetic Field Profiles from Transformer and GIS Perimeters)

  • 이 논문은 옥내 변전소의 변압기와 가스절연개폐장치(GIS) 주변에서 상용주파수의 전장과 자장의 분포에 관한 것으로 전장과 자장의 측정은 지표상 Hill]의 높이에서 1차원과 3차원 측정기로 수행되었다. 변압기 주변에서 전 장과 자장의 분포는 2차원적 평면도로써 나타내었으며, 전장의 세기는 2.3~9[v/m]으로 비교적 작은 값이었고, 자장의 세기는 $0.3~20.3[{\mu}T]$이었다. 또한 GIS의 주변에서 전장의 세기는 2.2~2.5[V/m]이고, 자장의 세기는 주 로 GIS의 중간부위에서 국부적으로 크게 나타났으며 $1.2~39.5[{\mu}T]$의 값이었다. 변압기와 GIS의 금속 외함은 전장을 감소시키는 역할을 하고, 자장은 변압기와 GIS의 외함으로부터 거리에 따라 급속하게 감소하는 특정을 보이고 있다.
