Development of an Internet-based Robot Education System

  • Until now, many networked robots have been connected to the Internet for the various applications. With these networked robots, very long distance teleoperation can be possible through the Internet. However, the promising area of the Internet-based teleoperation may be distance learning, because of several reasons such as the unpredictable characteristics of the Internet. In robotics class, students learn many theories about robots, but it is hard to perform the actual experiments for all students due to the rack of the real robots and safety problems. Some classes may introduce the virtual robot simulator for students to program the virtual robot and upload their program to operate the real robot through the off-line programming method. However, the students may also visit the laboratory when they want to use the real robot for testing their program. In this paper, we developed an Internet-based robot education system. The developed system was composed of two parts, the robotics class materials and the web-based Java3d robot simulator. That is, this system can provide two services for distance learning to the students through the Internet. The robotics class materials can be provided to the student as the multimedia contents on the web page. As well, the web-based robot simulator as the real experiment tool can help the students get good understanding about certain subject. So, the students can learn the required robotics theories and perform the real experiments from their web browser when they want to study themselves at any time.

  • 본 논문에서는 지능형 로봇의 효율적인 제어를 위해 작업계획 생성기와 계획 실행기간의 연동방식을 제안한다. 이를 위해 본 논문에서는 먼저 작업계획 생성기와 실행기의 대표적인 유형과 연동방식들을 살펴본다. 그리고 BDI 구조의 계획 실행기에 주문형 작업계획 생성기를 연동하는 새로운 접근법을 소개하며, 이러한 연동방식에 기초한 지능형 로봇 제어구조를 설명한다. 또한 AIBO 로봇을 이용한 데모시스템의 구현을 통해 본 논문에서 제안한 이러한 연동방식과 제어구조의 유연성과 견고성을 분석해본다.

다중 프로세스 기반 웹 로봇의 수행동작 분석 (Analysis of Execution Behavior for Multprocess-based Web Robots)

  • 웹 로봇은 인터넷 검색엔진을 포함한 다양한 웹 응용프로그램에 활용되는 중요한 인터넷 소프트웨어 기술이다. 인터넷의 급격한 성장에 따라 고성능 웹 로봇의 구현이 시급히 요구되고 있다. 이를 위해서는 웹 로봇에 대한 성능확장성에 초점을 둔 연구가 수행되어야 한다. 하지만 기존의 웹 로봇에 대한 연구개발은 주로 구현에 초점을 두고 수행되어 왔으며 따라서 성능확장성에 대한 체계적인 연구 결과는 발표되고 있지 않다. 본 연구에서는 이러한 성능확장성에 관한 선행연구로서 기존 웹 로봇 모델의 수행동작(Execution Behavior)을 성능 측면에서 이해하고자 웹 로봇의 수행동작에 대한 분석 결과를 제공한다. 본 연구에서는 Fork-join을 기반으로 하는 다중프로세스 기반의 웹 로봇 모델에서 웹 로봇이 웹 서버에게로 전송하는 접속요청, 문서헤드요청, 문서본문요청 시에 설정하는 타임아웃(Timeout) 값이 성능에 미치는 영향을 분석하였다. 또한 전체 컴퓨팅 소요시간에서 URL추출 및 유일성 검사 등이 점유하는 비율을 산출하여 웹 로봇의 동작을 분석하였다. 이러한 분석 결과를 기반으로 하여 향후 웹 로봇의 성능향상을 위한 설계 방향을 제시한다.

Detecting Malicious Social Robots with Generative Adversarial Networks

  • Malicious social robots, which are disseminators of malicious information on social networks, seriously affect information security and network environments. The detection of malicious social robots is a hot topic and a significant concern for researchers. A method based on classification has been widely used for social robot detection. However, this method of classification is limited by an unbalanced data set in which legitimate, negative samples outnumber malicious robots (positive samples), which leads to unsatisfactory detection results. This paper proposes the use of generative adversarial networks (GANs) to extend the unbalanced data sets before training classifiers to improve the detection of social robots. Five popular oversampling algorithms were compared in the experiments, and the effects of imbalance degree and the expansion ratio of the original data on oversampling were studied. The experimental results showed that the proposed method achieved better detection performance compared with other algorithms in terms of the F1 measure. The GAN method also performed well when the imbalance degree was smaller than 15%.

네트워크기반 로봇 축구 시스템 (Network Based Robot Soccer System)

  • In this paper, a network based robot soccer system is proposed. The system consists of robots, an image processing sub-system, a game server, and client systems. Embedded technique is applied to the hardware and software for controlling the robots and image processing. In this robot soccer system, a gamer can see and control robots in a remote site through Internet. During the game, the game server gives geometrical information on robots such as positions and orientations. We demonstrated the game in public and obtained optimistic results even though some technical problemssuch as communication delay and precise control for the robots should be improved.

네트워크를 통해 동작하는 애완 로봇 시뮬레이터 (Pet Robot Simulator Coordinated over Network)

  • A graphic simulator can be a useful tool for planning gaits or dynamic behaviors to a walking pet robot. Microsoft describes robotics developer studio (MSRDS) as an end-to-end robotics development platform including simulation engine based on dynamics. In this paper, we propose a pet robot simulator (PRS), based on MSRDS, which supports interactively controlled two walking robots connected over network. To be pet robot simulator, modeling a commercial pet robot is performed and gait planning is also implemented. By using concurrency and coordination runtime (CCR) and decentralized software services (DSS) of MSRDS software platform, we connect two robots which are displayed together but controlled separately over network. The two walking pet robots can be simulated interactively by joysticks. It seems to be an internet game for pet robots.

  • This paper represents the mobile robot control system remote controlled by PDA(personal digital assistance). So far, owing to the development of internet technologies, lots of remote control methods through internet have been proposed. To control a mobile robot through internet and guide it under unknown environment, We propose a control method activated by PDA. In a proposed system, PDA acts as a user interface to communicate with notebook as a controller of the mobile robot system using TCP/IP protocol, and the notebook controls the mobile robot system. The information about the direction and velocity of the mobile robot feedbacks to the PDA and the PDA send new control method produced from the fuzzy inference engine.

  • As robotic technology expands into various fields, robots need to execute some complicated tasks in diverse environments. However, the previous robotic software solutions were limited to independent systems. We can not adapt to diverse functionalities and environments. This makes it hard to provide rapid and effective services and leads to costs and losses in the development process. To overcome these problems, we propose a robot software framework with behavior trees based on ROS2. This framework simplifies complex robot behaviors through behavior trees and makes it easy to modify, extend, and reuse robot behaviors. Furthermore, ROS2 standardizes connections between software modules, enhances the robot's flexibility, and enables independent development and testing of software. Our framework aims to provide a foundation for high-quality robot service provision by supporting the modularity, reusability, independent development, and testing required by intelligent robots that need to provide services in various environments.

  • This paper discusses the interacting mobile robots for tele-operation system using the world wide web. In multi-agent and web-based teleoperation environment the problem of communication delay must be solved for the efficient and robust control of the system. The standard graphic user interface(GUI)is implemented using Java Programing language. The web browser is used to integrate the virtual environment and the standard GUI(Java applet) in a single user interface. Users can access a dedicated WWWserver and download the user interface. Reinforcement learning is applied to indirect control in order to autonomously operate without the need of human intervention.   • 인터스트리4.0의 주요 기술인 인간-로봇 협업은 작업자의 안전을 보장하기 위한 추가적인 조치들이 필요하다. 협동로봇과 작업자간 충돌을 회피하는 기존 방식은 주로 로봇에 부착된 센서와 카메라를 기반으로 총돌을 탐지한다. 이러한 방식은 로봇, 사람 물체를 지속적으로 추적하고 충돌회피를 위한 복잡한 알고리즘이 필요하며, 작업 환경 변화에 빠르게 대응하지 못하는 단점이 있다. 본 논문은 인간과 로봇이 협업하는 과정에서 작업자가 위험을 느낄 때의 감정을 인식하여 협동로봇과의 충돌을 방지할 수 있는 웹 기반 플랫폼을 개발하였다. 이를 위해 웨어러블 뇌파장치를 이용하여 감정 관련 뇌파를 수집하고 저장하는 웹 기반 애플리케이션을 개발하였으며, 중립/긍정/부정 감정의 특징을 추출하고 분류하는 딥러닝 모델을 제안하였다. 또한 분류된 감정에 따라 모터동작을 제어하는 사물인터넷 인터페이스 프로그램을 개발하였다. 구현된 시스템의 성능분석을 위해 공개 데이터세트와 실제 수집된 데이터 세트를 사용하여 제안한 딥러닝 모델의 성능을 분석하였다. 공개 데이터 세트의 경우 정확도는 96.8%이며, 실제 수집 데이터세트의 경우 정확도는 70.7%이다.
