  • The present experiment was performed in order to know the therapeutic effect of laserpuncture and aquapuncture with methionine on recovery in artificially induced hepatic damaged rats by carbon tetrachloride. The animals were divided into control, laserpuncture and aquapuncture groups. The changes of serum enzyme activities(ALT and AST), serum total protein contents, protein fractions(ALB and GLB) and A/G ratio were examined before and after application of laserpuncture and aquapuncture. In change of serum ALT activity, recovery with treatment in laser and aquapuncture groups was more rapid than that of control. The significant decreased value was shown on 3rd(P < 0.05) and 7th day(P < 0.01) after treatment in laserpuncture group and on 7th day(P < 0.05) after treatment in aquapuncture group. In addition, significance was detected on 2nd day(P < 0.05) between laserpuncture and aquapuncture groups. In change of serum AST activity, recovery with treatment in laserpuncture and aquapuncture groups was more rapid than that of control. The significant lower values on 7th day(P<0.01) in aquapuncture groups. In addition, significant low value was detected on 7th day(P < 0.05) in aquapuncture group comparing with that of laserpuncture group. The change of serum TP contents showed similar pattern in control, laser and aquapuncture groups. The significances were detected on 7th day(P < 0.05) in both experimental groups. In addition, significant high value was detected on 2nd day(P < 0.05) in laserpuncture group comparing with that of aquapuncture group. The change of serum ALB content with treatment in laser and aquapuncture groups was more rapid than that of control. The significant high value was shown on 2nd(P < 0.01), 5th(P < 0.05) and on 7th day(P < 0.01) in laserpuncture group. In addition, significant high value was detected on 3rd day(P<0.01) only in aquapuncture group comparing with laserpuncture group. The change of serum GLB content showed similar pattern among groups. The significant low values were detected on 2nd day(P < 0.05) in aquapuncture group. In addition significant high value was detected on 5th day(P < 0.01) only in laserpuncture group comparing with that of aquapuncture group. In change of A/G ratio laser and aquapuncture groups showed higher values than that of control. The significant high values were detected on 1st day(P < 0.Of) and 2nd day(P < 0.05) in laserpuncture group, and on 1st day(P < 0.05) and 2nd day(P < 0.01) in aquapuncture group. In addition, significant high value was detected on 5th day(P < 0.05) in aquapuncture group comparing with that of laserpuncture. Considering above findings collectively, it was considered that both laserpuncture and aquapuncture were effective; aquapuncture was more effective than laserpuncture for recovery of hepatic damage.

  • This study was performed to investigate the effect of acupuncture in dogs with experimentally induced thoracic disease. Twenty four dogs and 16 cats for the heart study, were divided into four groups(each of 6 in dogs, each of 4 in cats): laserpuncture, electroacupuncture, acupuncture and control group. Heart disease was induced by partial pericardiectomy, and then treatment was done once daily for 4 days. The acupoints used were Xin-shu and Nei-guan. The effect of acupuncture was evaluated by clinical symptom, blood chemical values, electrocardiogram(ECG) and histopathological findings. In dogs, acupuncture group revealed relatively fast recovery and laserpuncture group revealed secondly fast recovery after treatment. In catsl lasewuncture group revealed relatively fast recover and acnpuncture group reveaBed secondly fast recovery after treatment Sixteen dogs for the lung study, were divided into flour groups(each of 4) : laserpuncture, electroacupunchuf, acupuncture and control group. Lung disease was induced by partial lung lobectomy, and then treatment was done once daily for 4 days. The acupoints used were Fei-shu and Shen- zhu. The effect of acupuncture was evaluated by clinical symptoms blood chemical values and histopathological findings. Acupuncture and laserpuncture group revealed relatively fast recovery compared with other groups.

  • This study evaluated the effect of acupuncture in dogs with experimentally induced spleens pancreas and urinary bladder disease. For the spleen studys sixteen dogs were divided into four groups(each of 4 in dogs): laserfonctnreg electroacupunctnre, acupuncture and control group. Spleen disease was brought by experimentally induced spleen traumata and then treatment was done once daisy for 4 days. The acupoints used were Pi-shu and Ge-shu. The effect of acupuncture was evaluated by clinical grmptomi hematological findings and blood chemical values. Acupuncture and Iaserpunctore group revealed rotatively fast recovery compared with other sloops. For the pancreas study, sixteen dogs were divided into four groups(each of 4 in dogs): laserpuncture, electroacupuncture, acupuncture and control group. Pancreas disease was brought by experimentally induced pancreas trauma, and then treatment was done once daily for 4 days The acupoints used were Wei-shu and Pi-shu. The effect of acupuncture was evaluate6 by clinical symptom, hematological findings and blood chemical values. Laserpuncture revealed relatively frost recovery and acupuncture group revealed secondly fast recovery after treatment. For the urinary bladder study, sixteen dogs were divided into four groups(each of 4 in dogs): laserpuncture, electroacupuncture, acupuncture and control group. Spleen disease was brought by experimentally induced urinary stoner and then treatment was done once daily for 4 days. The acupuncture used were Pang Guang-shu and Shen-shu. The effect of acupuncture was evaluated by clinical symptom, hematological findings, and blood chemical values. Ethylene glycol was administered orally at 1 ml/kg in 24 cats, and then 6 cats were treated by acupunchuture 6 cats were treated by electroacupuncture, 6 cats were treated by acupuncture and 6 cats were not treated as a control group. Treatment was done once daily far 4 dsys. The acupoint used were Gan-shu and Tai-xi. The effect of acnpuncture was evaluated by clinical symptom, blood chemical values, electrocardiogram (ECG) and histopathologkal findings. After treatement, acupuncture group revealed relatively fast recovery compared with other groups, in clinical symptoms, blood chemical values, ECG waves and histopathological findings.
