And the media specialist known as teacher-librarian is. primarily responsible for the successful operation and effective management of the media center. It is true that effectiveness of the school library depends greatly on the cooperative coordination among teacher-librarian, teacher and principal in addition to the strong support and effective supervision of school district authority, specifically, supervisor of school library program. The successful program therefore is influenced by their perception of the teacher-librarian's role. The purpose of this study was to investigate the teacher-librarian's. educational role perceived by teacher-librarian, teacher, principal and school district supervisor. A standard task model describing both the management and educational functions and expectations of teacher-librarian was proposed after studying the relevant current standards of four countries. Serveral hypotheses were made regarding role perception and a survey instrument was designed based on this proposed task model and the results of the literature review to validate the hypotheses. The questionnaires were mailed out and the returned questionaires were analyzed by SPSS computer routine. The major findings are summarized as follows: 1) There was difference of the role perception among teacher-librarian, teacher, principal and district supervisor at the significance level of p<0.001 for both management and educational functions of teacherlibrarian. The mean score of the teacher-librarian was highest among four groups and the score for the educational function tasks were lower than that of management function tasks. 2) The positive correlation exists at the significance level of p<0.001 between the role perception and the attitude toward changing social trends such as acceptance of new technology, need for better communication and information. 3) The positive correlation exists at the significance level of p<0.001 between the role perception and the view on the curriculum and teaching method.

  • The idea of Library 2.0 originated from the concept of Web 2.0 social interactions within the Web. From this aspect, Library 2.0 is a library blended with Web 2.0. The most remarkable features of Library 2.0 are interactions and user involvement. Users' roles in new library environments are greater since they can contribute to establishing a library collection by annotating, blogging, reviewing, etc. While users' roles become important, the responsibilities of the librarians increase due to the unfiltered information created by users. Librarians now should extend their roles as information creators, organizers, providers, managers, as well as moderators. In this paper, we reviewed the current literature on the new paradigm of digital libraries, Library 2.0, and the development of Library 2.0. In addition, we discuss the extended role of the Librarian 2.0 in Library 2.0.

  • This study aimed to compare and analyze librarian teacher evaluation index from evaluation of teachers' competency development with the the topics of information utilization education. To this end, LDA topic modeling was conducted by collecting papers related to information utilization education published in four major journals in the field of literature and information from 1995 to May 2022. As a result of topic modeling, it can be seen that information utilization education (T10) was the most actively discussed at 12.0% of the 20 topics, followed by library utilization classes (T2) 10.4% and user service (T3) 8.8%.On the other hand, 3.3% of reading discussion (T7), 2.9% of reading education (T19), 2.1% of manpower management (T13), and 2.1% of librarian teacher job satisfaction (T17) showed the lowest distributions 3.3%, 2.9%, 2.1%, and 2.1%, respectively. In addition, although librarian teacher's class model development (T1) and curriculum development (T20) are essential processes for collaborative classes and information utilization education, they were not reflected in the current teacher competency development evaluation index. Therefore, this study proposed that 'instructional model and curriculum development' indicator should be added on 'training and support classes' factors in the Librarian Teacher Evaluation Index in Teachers' Competency Development Evaluation for further evaluation.

The survey period took place from 14 Oct. to 4 Nov. 2013. 533 librarians at 13 public and 28 private university libraries were included in the survey. Of the 533 surveys distributed, 529 were returned and used in the final analysis. SPSS Win 21.0 was used for statistical analysis, factor analysis, regression analysis and differential analysis. The survey also shows that a librarian's emotional labor affects emotional intelligence of supervisor, social support and library service level positively. This finding is not the case for the employees in the general service industry. Because the librarian is professional and manages stress better than general employees. This research suggest the following practical measures. Educational programs for librarian's emotional intelligence should be planned in order to improve library service.

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the perception of RDA by university library librarians and the level of perception of emotions, familiarity, understanding, introduction, obstacles, and education, and to secure basic data to improve awareness. The data needed for the study were obtained through a survey of 76 librarians in 4-year university libraries. As a result of the survey, 67.1% of librarians had listened to RDA, and school classes were the highest at 51.0% of cognitive means. Second, librarians perceived that they were more positive emotions than negative emotions about RDA, and that they were not familiar with RDA-related principles or concepts. In particular, it was recognized that the RDA itself and FRAD were not more familiar. The librarian recognized that they understood RDA-related principles or concepts at a normal level, and in particular, recognized that they did not further understand the authority and encoding. Third, librarians recognized the introduction of RDA at a slightly higher level than usual, but among the questions, 'RDA replaces AACR2' was recognized at a normal level. The librarian recognized the obstacles to the introduction of RDA at a higher level than usual, and in particular, the lack of education related to RDA was highly recognized. Fourth, librarians recognized the need for RDA-related education at a high level, especially the use of RDA Toolkit, changes in RDA records, differences between RDA and AACR2, and the need for RDA and MARC21-related education. In this study, based on the research results, a plan to improve librarian awareness of RDA was proposed.
