  • This study is about user satisfaction of the Junior College Library based on its characteristics of space composition. For this, we studied characteristics of space composition targeting the libraries in colleges in Seoul and Gyeonggi-do. First, in case of study of characteristics of space composition for books and library data, student satisfaction for traditional and normal library areas was high. It means that the service based on library areas should start from normal library areas as well as there is a change about space as the type of data in libraries change to electric data and multimedia. Second, If we look at the space for a reader and a user, satisfaction for a normal reading room was high. we can also see that satisfaction for a computer room and a multimedia reading room was not higher but still high. Also, the reason why satisfaction for a multimedia reading room that provides various activities was high was that the complex of a library space is needed to provide users with various activities. Third, in case of space for programme function and meeting, satisfaction for the room of video information and the group study room was high. we can see that user satisfaction for the space got high basically when a user is satisfied with the proper information technology based on interaction Fourth, as a result of variance analysis of 3 spaces of Junior College Library and the services, the size of the space of service does not influence user satisfaction directly. Even the space is small, if it decorates variously like with a lighting for a user, a window seat to meet the nature of users and has specific factors such as space reservation using internet, user satisfaction is high. If we summarise the result of this study, to make user satisfaction for speace in a Junior College Library higher, not just we need to try to make it extend as a educational, a cultural place but we also need to accept the student's requirement that the space also needs to be extend as a complex cultural space.

  • Library users must provide their personal information to libraries. This study surveyed these library users' perception of privacy and the effect of the education after providing library user privacy education. As a result, first, it was found that after education, users were more interested in their privacy, rated the problem of library user privacy as more severe, and rated library user data collection as more likely to be considered privacy invasion. Second, we investigated users' perception of how much user service records being collected in libraries violate users' privacy, which showed a great perception change in 25 questions after the education. Third, in the survey about library and librarians' efforts for protecting library user privacy, it was found that all 15 questions were rated as significantly more important after education. Fourth, library users have recognized that is necessary to process and handle the library record and are more sympathetic to the need for this procedure. Fifth, library users felt the possibility of a library record leak was a very serious threat.

On the basis of study result, to improve user satisfaction and user loyalty, the direction and implications of library development are presented. In order to achieve the purpose of the study, precedent research and literature were investigated, and the study model and hypothesis were established based on theoretical background. In order to verify the hypothesis, a total of 300 questionnaires were distributed to subject who had experience using the Central Library among undergraduate students at the C National University, and the final 282 sample was used for analysis. To analyze the differences depending on the general characteristics of the samples, It is the result of an independent sample t-test and one-way ANOVA. The results of the mediated effects analysis using the PROCESS macro-programs models 4 and 6 of Hayes for hypothesis testing are as follows. First, The university library user's sense of community (Service Benefits Perception and Satisfaction, Mutual sense of influence) effect the user satisfaction of university library mediated by service quality assessment at statistical significance. This showed that the higher the university library user's sense of community, the higher the service quality assessment, and the higher the user satisfaction level of university library. Second, The university library user's sense of community (Service Benefits Perception and Satisfaction, Mutual sense of influence) effect the user loyalty of university library mediated by service quality assessment and user satisfaction. This showed that the higher the university library user's sense of community, the higher the service quality assessment, the higher user satisfaction level of university library and the higher the user loyalty level of university library. The results of this study showed that the university library user's sense of community has a direct and indirect effect on enhancing user satisfaction and loyalty through the service quality assessment.

  • Virtual Reality (VR) is one of the core components of the fourth industrial revolution as a technology that makes the virtual world feel as if it is real. VR is being used in various fields such as entertainment, advertisement, education, medical care, training, sports, and tourism, as well as providing contents for such things as games and videos. Libraries are already looking for ways to utilize VR from various angles, such as operating experiential programs. The purpose of this thesis is to develop and propose a VR-based library user education program. In order to achieve the purpose of the study, we analyzed previous studies from a theoretical perspective to find a way to construct a user education program, and also to derive possible implications based on examples of countries such as the United States and Korea that are already introducing and applying VR technology to library services. Therefore, the user education program proposed in this study can be used as a basic building block when many libraries want to develop VR-based programs in the future.
