  • This paper proposes a robust H$_{\infty}$ tracking filter to improve the unacceptable target tracking performance for systems with parameter uncertainties. Also, we use here the input estimation approach to account for the possibility of maneuver. Simulation results show that the robust H$_{\infty}$ tracking filter which is proposed here to solve the systems with all system parameter uncertainties, has a good tracking performance for a maneuvering target tracking problem.m.

  • In this paper, an improved method for tracking maneuvering target is proposed. The proposed tracking filter is constructed by combining the input estimation approach with the variable dimension filtering approach. In this approach, the filter also provides the estimated time instant at which target starts maneuver, when the target maneuver is detected. Using this estimated maneuvering time, the maneuver input is estimated and the tracking system changes to the maneuver model. Simulations are performed to demonstrate the efficiency of the proposed tracking filter.

  • In this paper, we consider the maneuvering detection and target tracking problem in uncertain linear discrete-time systems. The maneuvering detection is based on X$^{2}$ test[2,71, where Kalman filters have been utilized so far. The target tracking is performed by the maneuvering input compensation based on a maximum likelihood estimator. KF has been known to diverge when some modelling errors exist and fail to detect the maneuvering and to track the target in uncertain systems. Thus this paper adopt the FIR filter[l], which is known to be robust to modelling errors, for maneuvering detection and target tracking problem. Various computer simulations show the superior performance of the FIR filter in this problem.

  • This work is concerned with the problem of tracking a maneuvering target. In this paper, an error monitoring and recovery method of perception net is utilized to improve tracking performance for a highly maneuvering tar-get. Many researches have been performed in tracking a maneuvering target. The conventional Interacting Multiple Model (IMM) filter is well known as a suboptimal hybrid filter that has been shown to be one of the most cost-effective hybrid state estimation scheme. The subfilters of IMM can be considered as fusing its initial value with new measurements. This approach is also shown in this paper. Perception net based error monitoring and recovery technique, which is a kind of geometric data fusion, makes it possible to monitor errors and to calibrate possible biases involved in sensed data and extracted features. Both detecting a maneuvering target and compensating the estimated state can be achieved by employing the properly implemented error monitoring and recovery technique. The IMM filter which employing the error monitoring and recovery technique shows good tracking performance for a highly maneuvering target as well as it reduces maximum values of estimation errors when maneuvering starts and finishes. The effectiveness of the pro-posed method is validated through simulation by comparing it with the conventional IMM algorithm.

  • This paper presents the intelligent external noise analysis method for nonlinear maneuvering target. After recognizing maneuvering pattern of the target by the proposed method, we track the state of the target. The external noise can be divided into mere noise and acceleration using only the measurement. divided noise passes through the filtering step and acceleration is punched into dynamic model to compensate expected states. The acceleration is the most deterministic factor to the maneuvering. By dividing, approximating, and compensating the acceleration, we can reduce the tracking error effectively. We use the fuzzy c-means (FCM) clustering as the method to divide external noise. FCM can separate the acceleration from the noise without criteria. It makes the criteria with the data made by measurement at every sampling time. So it can show the adaptive tracking result. The proposed method proceeds the tracking target simultaneously with the learning process. Thus it can apply to the online system. The proposed method shows the remarkable tracking result on the linear and nonlinear maneuvering. Finally, some examples are provided to show the feasibility of the proposed algorithm.

  • Accuracy in maneuvering target tracking using multiple models relies upon the suit-ability of each target motion model to be used. To construct multiple models, the interacting multiple model (IMM) algorithm and the adaptive IMM (AIMM) algorithm require predefined sub-models and predetermined acceleration intervals, respectively, in consideration of the properties of maneuvers. To solve these problems, this paper proposes the GA-based IMM method as an intelligent tracking method for a maneuvering target. In the proposed method, the acceleration input is regarded as an additive process noise, a sub-model is represented as a fuzzy system to compute the time-varying variance of the overall process noise, and, to optimize the employed fuzzy system, the genetic algorithm (GA) is utilized. The simulation results show that the proposed method has a better tracking performance than the AIMM algorithm.

  • This paper describes the tracking filter performance for Naval Gun Ballistic Computation Unit(BCU). BCU needs tracing filter for gun firing. Using data of tracking sensor, BCU calculates the future position of Target and Gun order in the time of flight. In this paper, tracing filter is designed with interacting multiple model(IMM). The tracking algorithm based on the IMM requirers a considerable number of sub-model for the various maneuvering target in order to have a good performance. But, in the case of ship target, the maneuvering is restricted compared with the air target. Considering the maneuvering properties and adjusting the mode transition probabilities and the process noise of sub-model, We designed the IMM3 algorithm for Naval tracking filter with three sub-model.

  • In this paper, we propose a new adaptive single model to track a maneuvering target with abrupt accelerations. We utilize the stochastic differential equation to model acceleration of a maneuvering target with stochastic volatility (SV). We assume the generalized autoregressive conditional heteroscedasticity (GARCH) process as the model for the tracking procedure of the SV. In the proposed scheme, to track a high maneuvering target, we modify the Kalman filtering by introducing a new GARCH model for estimating SV. The proposed tracking algorithm operates in both the non-maneuvering and maneuvering modes, and, unlike the traditional decision-based model, the maneuver detection procedure is eliminated. Furthermore, we stress that the improved performance using the GARCH acceleration model is due to properties inherent in GARCH modeling itself that comply with maneuvering target trajectory. Moreover, the computational complexity of this model is more efficient than that of traditional methods. Finally, the effectiveness and capabilities of our proposed strategy are demonstrated and validated through Monte Carlo simulation studies.

  • Tracking error performance is investigated for the typical maneuvering pattern of the anti-ship missile for tracking filters based on IMM filter in both clear and cluttered environments. Threatening targets to a navel vessel can be categorized into having three kinds of maneuvering patterns such as Waver, Pop-Up, and High-Diver maneuvers, which are classified according to launching platform or acceleration input to be applied. In this paper, the tracking errors for three kinds of maneuvering targets are represented and are investigated through simulation results. Studying estimation errors for each maneuvering target allows us to have insight into the most threatening maneuvering pattern and to construct the test maneuvering scenario for radar system validation.

  • This paper proposes the design methodology of genetic algorithm (GA)-based fuzzy Kalman filter for tracking the maneuvering target. The performance of the standard Kalman Filter (SKF) has been degraded because mismatches between the modeled target dynamics and the actual target dynamics. To solve this problem, we use the method to estimate the increment of acceleration by a fuzzy system using the relation between maneuver filter residual and non-maneuvering one. To optimize the fuzzy system, a genetic algorithm (GA) is utilized and this is then tuned by the fuzzy logic correction. Finally, the tracking performance of the proposed method has been compared with those of the input estimation (IE) technique and the intelligent input estimation (IIE) through computer simulations.
