  • Starting with painting, it is the frame that plays the main role in movies, cartoons, and games as well as the act of attracting the audience's attention. Knowing about a frame is to be able to read and use the frame. Therefore, this paper deals with frames of digital games, especially multiple frames that complement the limited configuration of primary frames. In this paper, frame within frames are classified into structural frames, which are the basic components of the game, temporal frames, which reflect player behavior, and surface frames representing the characteristics of existing visual media. Through this, we examine the aspects of frame within a frame as digital game design equipment. This paper is meaningful in that it derives the possibility of using frame within a frame of games in the future and provides a mechanism for frame within a frame analysis.

  • This study is for analyzing the tone, the frame and the characteristics of political news in social media. Social news media is not same as old media in sharing news freely by SNS like tweeter, facebook and reporting, editing by anyone using SNS with various opinions. With Content analysis, sampling 419 cases from 'Wikitree' by the keyword, 'presidential election', all the full text analysed each how is social media making public opinion differently and which frame is using in. As the result, the social media has different tone, frame, and characteristic due to the reported figure, type of report, information source, attitude to the government, specifically shows a lack of in-depth report and distinct soft-journalism just same as old media's. Because the tone of social news media is not probable, specific but improbable, vague, using the irrational, strategic and episodic frame mainly.

  • N-screen is a promising technology to improve support for multimedia multicasting, content sharing, content mobility, media scalability, and seamless mobility. In this paper, the WiMedia distributed-MAC (D-MAC) protocol is adopted for development of a seamless N-screen wireless service. Furthermore, to provide a multi-hop, one source multi-use N-screen service through point to point streaming in a seamless D-MAC protocol, a dynamic multi-frame transmission technology is proposed. In this technology, a dynamic time slot allocation scheme and a multi-hop resource reservation scheme are combined. In the proposed dynamic time slot allocation scheme, two thresholds, a hard threshold and a soft threshold, are included to satisfy the power consumption and delay requirements. A multi-frame DRP reservation scheme is proposed to minimize end-to-end delay during the multi-hop transmissions between N-screen devices. The proposed dynamic multi-frame transmission scheme enhances N-screen performance in terms of the multi-hop link establishment success rate and link establishment time compared to the conventional WiMedia D-MAC system.

  • Doctoral Candidate, Department of Communication, Pusan National University This study analyzed the political and social significance of the disaster accident news with the frame and bias concept. In particular, this study confirmed theoretically how domestic media biased frame when it presents problem definition, causing interpretation, moral evaluation, and post-prescription on the ferry Sewol accident, In addition, the bias of the frame was analyzed comparing what is the difference between the conservative newspapers and liberal newspapers. Findings are as follows. First, in diagnosis of ferry Sewol accident, news slanted fragmentation frame>personalization frame>authority-disorder frame. The Chosun Ilbo focus on fragmentation bias, meanwhile Hankyoreh focus on the authority disorder relatively. Second, in accident evaluation, responsibility frame> moral frame> problem-solution frame. The Chosun Ilbo focus on responsibility frame and moral frame. But Hankyoreh focus on responsibility frame and problem-solution frame. Third, in the matter of responsibility, government frame>personal frame>organizational frame. Chosun Ilbo biased responsibility of the government and individuals, while the Hankyoreh is relatively more emphasis on government responsibility and the responsibility of the organization also showed. Fourth, in problem solving, thematic frame and episodic frame bias appeared as rough and level. Chosun Ilbo showed episodic frame, Hankyoreh showed thematic frame. News frame and bias as well as ideological differences of media on ferry Sewol accident was discussed in the context of the social dimension.

  • Immersive 360-degree media has a problem of slowing down the video recognition speed when the video is processed by the conventional method using a variety of rendering methods, and the video size becomes larger with higher quality and extra-large volume than the existing video. In addition, in most cases, only one scene is captured by fixing the camera in a specific place due to the characteristics of the immersive 360-degree media, it is not necessary to extract feature information from all scenes. In this paper, we propose a reference frame selection method for immersive 360-degree media and describe its application process to copyright protection technology. In the proposed method, three pre-processing processes such as frame extraction of immersive 360 media, frame downsizing, and spherical form rendering are performed. In the rendering process, the video is divided into 16 frames and captured. In the central part where there is much object information, an object is extracted using an RGB vector per pixel and deep learning, and a reference frame is selected using object feature information.

  • The first purpose of this paper is to design brand logo sign analysis frame, 'SCoL'(Analysis frame of signification and communication for the brand logo). It has semiotic view and communication function. And the second is to prove propriety of the suggested frame by application to social media brand logos. The SCoL frame is based on 4 features of logo sigh to have analytic consistency. Also, it covers whole semiological process with index, icon, symbol as signification understanding and reach communication step with Jakobson's theory. As the results, the findings are follow; The SCoL frame can be useful to get comprehensive semiotic understandings and communication functions about logo signs. The social media brands build their own meaning area with logo signs and they depend on different communication function.

  • This study examined the effect of media and personal frames on readers' attitude towards newspaper articles and on their perceived fairness. Study 1 examined the frame effects with the issue of the Candlelit Protest in 2008 and Study 2 did with the issue of the Four Major Rivers Restoration Project. Results indicated that in both studies two frames had main effects on readers' attitude and yet their interaction was not significant. In both studies, effects of personal frame were partially significant on the perceived fairness of the article, but main effects of media frame and interaction effects between two frames were not significant. These findings demonstrated that readers' attitude towards newspaper articles and on their perceived fairness would be influenced by their headlines and their source along with their content.

  • Public sectors around the world utilize social media tools and technologies in their daily activities for a variety of purposes, including disseminating useful information, fostering mass collaboration, and enforcing laws and regulations. A number of social media-based government stage models have emerged to document this use. In this chapter, we conducted a qualitative meta-synthesis of four social media-based government models. These models include 1) the open government maturity model, 2) the social media utilization model, 3) the adoption process for social media, and 4) the social media-based engagement model. The concepts, metaphors, and themes contained in these developmental models are extracted through a series of in-depth semantic analyses of descriptions, resulting in a common frame of reference.
