In this study, the effects of ground shocks due to explosive loads on the dynamic response of historical masonry bridges are investigated by using the multi-point shock response spectrum method. With this purpose, different charge weights and distances from the charge center are considered for the analyses of a masonry bridge and depending on these parameters frequency-varying shock spectra are determined and applied to each support of the two-span masonry bridge. The net blast induced ground motion consists of air-induced and direct-induced ground motions. Acceleration time histories of blast induced ground motions are obtained depending on a deterministic shape function and a stationary process. Shock response spectrums determined from the ground shock time histories are simulated using BlastGM software. The results obtained from uniform and multi-point response spectrum analyses cases show that significant differences take place between the uniform and multi-point blast-induced ground motions.
In general, the response spectrum analysis method (R.S.A) is widely used for seismic analysis of building structure. But, it is not common to apply R.S.A for the analysis of structural vibration caused by dynamic loads of equipments, machines and moving leads, etc. The time history analysis method(T.H.A) for the vibration analysis, compared with R.S.A, is very complex, difficult and time consuming. So the application of R.S.A, that is convenient to calculate maximum responses for structural vibration, is proposed in this study. At first, the procedure for the application of the R.S.A to calculate of the maximum vibration response induced by dynamic load applied on the single point is described. And then, the process, which can save the time and the memory for calculation of the maximum vibration response induced by dynamic loads on the multi-point is proposed, and the maximum structural response caused by moving loads are obtained. Lastly, the accuracy of the proposed method is verified by comparing the results of R.S.A to T.H.A for some example models.
RCP(Reactor coolant pump) must be designed to preserve it's functions on normal or abnormal environments and seismic event same as operating basis earthquake(OBE) and safe shutdown earthquake(SSE). Generally, there are static and dynamic analytical method which can be applied by a floor response spectrum or time history analysis for the seismic qualification. Initially, It was accomplished a detailed structural FE-model for finite element analysis on the bases of 3-dimensional solid model which was made by the RCP drawing. As the result of dynamic characteristic using the detailed FE-model, it's shown about 12Hz natural frequency of 1st bending mode shape and maximum displacement has 11mm with the structural bending by single-point response spectrum(SPRS) method at all elevation. But maximum displacement has 7.6mm by multi-point response spectrum(MPRS) method which was applied to the three floor response spectrum at each elevation. Therefore, On a large heighten structures as RCP, The application by SPRS method causes to be more conservative results. Finally, A simpled equivalent beam model which was developed by use of iteration of detailed FE-model is shown the result more similar with those of natural frequencies and SPRS analysis. And maximum equivalent stress and displacement of the simpled beam has verified with 180MPa and 7.1mm each at 15sec as results by SSE time history method.
It has been recognized that damage control must become a more explicit design consideration. In an effort to develop design methods based on performance it is clear that the evaluation of the inelastic response is required. The methods available to the design engineer today are nonlinear time history analyses, or monotonic static nonlinear analyses, or equivalent static analyses with simulated inelastic influences. Some codes proposed the capacity spectrum method based on the nonlinear static(pushover) analysis to determine earthquake-induced demand given the structure pushover curve. This procedure is conceptually simple but iterative and time consuming with some errors. This paper presents a nonlinear direct spectrum method to evaluate seismic Performance of structure, without iterative computations, given the structural initial elastic period and yield strength from the pushover analysis, especially for multi degree of freedom structures. The purpose of this paper is to investigate accuracy and confidence of this method from a point of view of various earthquakes and unloading stiffness degradation parameters.
Most structures are expected to deform beyond the limit of linearly elastic behavior when subjected to strong ground motion. Seismic evaluation of structure requires an estimation of the structural performance in terms of displacement demand imposed by earthquakes on the structure. Nonlinear response history analysis(NRHA) is the most rigorous procedure to compute seismic performance among various inelastic analysis methods. But nonlinear analysis procedures necessitate more practical and reliable tools for predicting seismic behavior of structures. This paper presents a nonlinear direct spectrum method(NDSM) to evaluate seismic performance of structures, without iterative computations, given by the structural initial elastic period and yield strength from the pushover analysis, especially for MDF(multi degree of freedom) system. The purpose of this paper is to investigate the accuracy and reliability of this method from a point of view of various earthquakes and structure parameters.
Spot welding is the primary method of joining sheet metals in the automotive industry. As automobiles are subjected to fatigue loading, some spot welds may fracture before the whole system has failed. This local fracture of spot welds may lead to change in the dynamic response and consequently affect fatigue behavior of an automobile. Therefore, this change in dynamic response should be taken into consideration to assess the fatigue life of structures subjected to spectrum loading, such as automobiles. In this study, vibration fatigue analysis was performed by taking into consideration the change in the dynamic response due to accumulated damage at spot-welded parts. Fatigue tests were carried out on tensile-shear spot-welded specimens under constant amplitude loading condition. And the fatigue life of spot welds under spectrum loading was predicted using vibration fatigue analysis method based on finite element analysis.
To overcome the difficulty of performing multi-point response spectrum analysis for engineering structures under spatially varying ground motions (SVGM) using the general finite element code such as ANSYS, an approach has been developed by improving the modelling of the input ground motions in the spectral analysis. Based on the stochastic vibration analyses, the cross-power spectral density (c-PSD) matrix is adopted to model the stationary SVGM. The design response spectra are converted into the corresponding PSD model with appropriate coherency functions and apparent wave velocities. Then elements of c-PSD matrix are summarized in the row and the PSD matrix is transformed into the response spectra for a general spectral analysis. A long-span high-pier bridge under multiple support excitations is analyzed using the proposed approach considering the incoherence, wave-passage and site-response effects. The proposed approach is deemed to be an efficient numerical method that can be used for seismic analysis of large engineering structures under SVGM.

The conclusions of this study are as follows; 1) NDSM is considered as practical method because the peak deformations of nonlinear system of MDF by NDSM are almost equal to the results of nonlinear time history analysis(NTHA) for various ground motions. 2) When the results of NDSM are compared with those of NTHA. mean of errors is the smallest in case of post-yielding stiffness factor 0.1, static force by MAD(modal adaptive distribution) and unloading stiffness degradation factor 0.2~0.3.
The wall shear stress in the vicinity of end-to end anastomoses under steady flow conditions was measured using a flush-mounted hot-film anemometer(FMHFA) probe. The experimental measurements were in good agreement with numerical results except in flow with low Reynolds numbers. The wall shear stress increased proximal to the anastomosis in flow from the Penrose tubing (simulating an artery) to the PTFE: graft. In flow from the PTFE graft to the Penrose tubing, low wall shear stress was observed distal to the anastomosis. Abnormal distributions of wall shear stress in the vicinity of the anastomosis, resulting from the compliance mismatch between the graft and the host artery, might be an important factor of ANFH formation and the graft failure. The present study suggests a correlation between regions of the low wall shear stress and the development of anastomotic neointimal fibrous hyperplasia(ANPH) in end-to-end anastomoses. 30523 T00401030523 ^x Air pressure decay(APD) rate and ultrafiltration rate(UFR) tests were performed on new and saline rinsed dialyzers as well as those roused in patients several times.
