  • This paper discusses the general properties and the design procedures of Internal Model Control(IMC) scheme for nonlinear plants. Also we propose new nonlinear IMC(NIMC) design method using linear IMC. Although all IMC controllers can be thought simple 'inverse controller', its nonlinear realization is not easy. Propose NIMC is composed multiple linear models, IMC controllers, and switching scheme. The advantages of this method are we can use simple linear IMC design method and need not nonlinear modelings.

  • Vibration at the tip of various flexible manipulators may affect their operation accuracy and work efficiency. To suppress such vibrations, the feasibility of using MFC actuators and sensors is investigated in this paper. Considering the convergence of the famous filtered-x least mean square (FXLMS) algorithm could not be guaranteed while it is employed for vibration suppression of plants with varying secondary path, this paper proposes a new multiple model switching adaptive control algorithm to implement the real time active vibration suppression tests with a new multiple switching strategy. The new switching strategy is based on a cost function with reconstructed error signal and disturbance signal instead of the error signal from the error sensor. And from a robustness perspective, a new variable step-size sign algorithm (VSSA) based FXLMS algorithm is proposed to improve the convergence rate. A cantilever beam with varying tip mass is employed as flexible manipulator model. MFC layers are attached on both sides of it as sensors and actuators. A co-simulation platform was built using ADAMS and MATLAB to test the feasibility of the proposed algorithms. And an experimental platform was constructed to verify the effectiveness of MFC actuators and sensors and the real-time vibration control performance. Simulation and experiment results show that the proposed FXLMS algorithm based multiple model adaptive control approach has good convergence performance under varying load conditions for the flexible cantilever beam, and the proposed FX-VSSA-LMS algorithm based multiple model adaptive control algorithm has the best vibration suppression performance.

  • This paper presents an intelligent autopilot for STT missiles with multiple controllers. The mixed H$_{2}$/H$_{\infty}$ control technique is applied for each controller and implemented by using the genetic searching algorithm. To facilitate automatic switching of multiple controllers under different operating conditions, an error based switching scheme is also combined with the multiple controllers at the higher level, which constitutes a hierarchical intelligent control system. It is shown via computer simulation that the proposed autopilot outperforms the conventional one..

  • The Multiple Model/Controller IMC(MMC-IMC) is a model-based control method which uses a set of model/controller pairs rather than a single model/controller to handle all possible operating conditions in the IMC control structure. During operation, one model/controller pair that best fit, for current plant situation is chosen by the switching algorithm. The major drawback of the switching controller is the bad transient performance due to the model error and the use fo linear controller for nonlinear plants. In this paper, we propose a method that transient response of the MMC-IMC using two recurrent neural networks. Simulation result shows that the proposed method represents better performance than the usual MMC-IMC`s.

  • Many physical systems are hybrid in the sense that they have continuous behaviors and discrete phenomena. In control system with multiple models, switching strategy and stability of the closed-loop system under switching are very important issues. In this paper, a novel adaptive control scheme based on multiple parameter models is proposed to cope with a change in Parameters. Switching strategy guarantees the non-increase in the global control Lyapunov function if the estimation of Lyapunov function value converges. Least-square estimation is used to find the estimated value of the Lyapunov function. Switching and adaptation law guarantees the stability of closed-loop system in the sense of Lyapunov. Simulation results on anti-lock brake system are shown to verify the effectiveness of the proposed controller in view of a large change in system parameters.

  • Conventional cell characterization does not consider Multiple Input Switching(MIS). Since the impact of MIS on gate delay variation is large, it is not possible to predict the accurate gate delay with the conventional cell characterization. We observed the maximum 46% difference in gate delay due tn MIS. In this paper, we propose a gate delay model considering the delay variation caused by the temporal proximity of MIS. The proposed model calculates the delay variation using the Radial Basis Function. The experimental results show that the proposed method can more accurately predict the gate delay when MIS occurs.

  • This study analysed impact of service quality on customer satisfaction and loyalty in the take-out coffee shop. The switching barrier was also studied as a moderating effect. Particularly, this study focused on relationships between customer loyalty and switching barriers. A lot of previous studies interest only in customers satisfaction. This study also analysed relationships among service quality, customer satisfaction, switching barriers and brand loyalty. Eventually, service quality significantly affects customer satisfaction, moderating effects, brand loyalty and marketing performance. SERVQUAL model which was established by PZB (1988) was used as a service quality factors. The impact on customer satisfaction was analysed using multiple regression analysis. Simple regression analysis was used to find effects of customer satisfaction and customer loyalty. Additional factors of switching barriers was classified based on previous studies. Hierarchical multiple regression analysis was used to find factors of customer loyalty among switching barriers. In the result, we can find that the importance of tangibles, responsiveness in service quality factors and contract cost, search cost and continuous cost in moderating effects.

  • This paper present a new optimization model to generate aggregate production planning by considering electric cost. The new Time Of Switching (TOS) electric type is introduced by switching over Time Of Day (TOD) and Time Of Use (TOU) electric types to minimize the electric cost. The fuzzy demand and Dynamic inventory tracking with multiple plant capacity are modeled to cover the uncertain demand of customer. The constraint for minimum hour limitation of plant running per one start up event is introduced to minimize plants idle time. Furthermore; the Optimal Weight Moving Average Factor for customer demand forecasting is introduced by monthly factors to reduce forecasting error. Application is illustrated for multiple cement mill plants. The mathematical model was formulated in spreadsheet format. Then the spreadsheet-solver technique was used as a tool to solve the model. A simulation running on part of the system in a test for six months shows the optimal solution could save 60% of the actual cost.

  • Bayesian inference is considered for switching mean models with the ARMA errors. We use noninformative improper priors or uniform priors. The fractional Bayes factor of O'Hagan (1995) is used as the Bayesian tool for detecting the existence of a single change or multiple changes and the usual Bayes factor is used for identifying the orders of the ARMA error. Once the model is fully identified, the Gibbs sampler with the Metropolis-Hastings subchains is constructed to estimate parameters. Finally, we perform a simulation study to support theoretical results.
