A Novel High Speed Frequency Sweeping Signal Generator in X-band Based on Tunable Optoelectronic Oscillator

  • A novel X-band high speed frequency sweep signal generator based on a tunable optoelectronic oscillator (OEO) incorporating a frequency-swept laser is presented and the theoretical fundamentals of the design are explained. A prototype of the generator with tuning range from 8.8552 GHz to 10.3992 GHz and a fine step about 8 MHz is achieved. The generated radiofrequency signal with a single sideband (SSB) phase noise lower than -100 dBc/Hz@10KHz is experimentally demonstrated within the whole tunable range, without any narrow RF band-pass filters in the loop. And the tuning speed of the frequency sweep signal generator can reach to over 1 GHz/s benefiting from applying a novel dispersion compensation modular instead of several tens of kilometers of optical fiber delay line in the system.

  • 본 논문은 Optical Frequency Comb Generator(OFCG)fmf 이용 생체 조직의 빠른 측정을 달성하기 위한 이론적 해석을 수행하였다. 생체 조직의 고속 검출을 위해 두 개의 OFCG를 이용하여 마이켈슨 간섭계를 설계하고 수치해석을 행하였다. 수치해석 결과 기존의 기계적 방식의 마이켈슨 간섭계에 비해 수백배이상의 빠른 검출 및 해상도가 가능할 것으로 예상된다.

  • Optical frequency comb generators have been investigated as a signal source capable of generating highly stabilized ultrafast pulse lasers. The precise control of the optical frequency comb spacing by RF clock signals has led to a revolutionary paradigm shift in the precise measurement of time and frequency. Optical frequency combs also have advantages such as stable frequency spacing, stable number of lines, and robustness. Owing to these characteristics, optical frequency combs have been applied to the fields of high precision optical clock, communication, spectroscopy, waveform generation, and astronomy. In this article, we introduce the properties (i.e., generation methods, advantages, and so on) of various optical frequency combs, and discuss the expected future technological trends and applications.

SS-OCT용 고 주파수분해능 저비용 정현파 발생기 (Low Cost Signal Generator with Frequency High-Resolution for SS-OCT)

  • In this paper, the low price signal generator with capability of frequency high-resolution and variable sync pulse has implemented. It fulfils well the requirements for SS-OCT of the frequency resolution less than 1Hz, frequency stability of ${\leq}{\pm}0.5Hz$/10 min and variable sync pulse output timing. Through its performance test applied to wavelength swept laser, 120 nm sweeping range and 10 mW average optical power were obtained. This shows that the realized sine-wave generator can replace the commercial high cost and high performance signal generators employed by current SS-OCT systems.
