  • Short message service (SMS) is a Popular mobile data service in cellular networks. One SMS message can carry 50 Korean alphabets. Cellular operators standard and develop multimedia message service (MMS) based on P2P as color phones having multimedia solutions such as MIDI, MP3, JPG, PNG, and MPEG have been developed. MMS can be a key cash flow in the non-voice mobile revenue together with SMS. Copyrights protection of contents in a MMS message can be issued as MMS can be the popular P2P service such as MMS. In this paper, we propose MMS DRM system to protect copyrights of contents in MMS with the minimum change of MMS system. The proposed MMS DRM system protect copyrights of contents using DRM Packager, DRM Server, and DRM Agent and support various use cases to activates MMS in mobile networks.

  • This paper describes our design of a contents distribution framework that supports transparent distribution of digital contents on the Internet as well as copyright protection of participants in the contents distribution value chain. Copyright protection must ensure that participants in the distribution channel get the royalties due to them and that purchasers use the contents according to usage rules. It must also prevent illegal draining of digital contents. To design a contents distribution framework satisfying the above requirements, we first present four digital contents distribution models. On the basis of the suggested distribution models, we designed a contract system for distribution of royalties among participants in the contents distribution channel, a license mechanism for enforcement of contents usage to purchasers, and both a packaging mechanism and a secure client system for prevention of illegal draining of digital contents.

  • DRM 을 통한 저작권 보호는 대부분 컨텐츠를 암호화하여 보호하고, 요금을 지불한 사용자에게 컨텐츠를 부호화할 수 있는 암호화키를 포함한 라이센스를 발급하여 컨텐츠를 사용할 수 있도록 하는 방법을 사용한다. 암호화된 컨텐츠는 내부 정보를 보호할 수 있도록 설계된 secure container 라는 구조체에 컨텐츠에 대한 메타데이터 및 컨텐츠 사용에 관한 비즈니스 룰과 함께 패키징되어 구매자에게 배포된다. 현재 개발된 DRM 시스템들은 컨텐츠 유통업자와 구매자 사이의 단순한 유통 모델을 지원하도록 설계되어 있으므로 패키징 작업 또한 유통업자에서만 수행된다. DRM 을 통한 컨텐츠 유통이 활성화되면 컨텐츠 제작자에서부터 제공자, 유통업자, 구매자에 이르는 모든 컨텐츠 유통 채널에서 컨텐츠가 보호되어야 하며, 이런 경우 각 유통주체에서 컨텐츠의 패키징이 발생할 수 있다. 이처럼 다양한 유통 모델에서의 컨텐츠 보호를 위해서는 각 유통 모델을 지원할 수 있도록 유연한 구조로 secure container를 설계하고 이를 지원하는 도구로써 컨텐츠 패키저를 설계하여야 한다. 본 논문에서는 유연성 있는 컨텐츠 패키저의 구조를 기술하고 컨텐츠 창조자, 유통업자, 구매자가 참여하는 유통모델에서 이를 적용하여 보고자 한다.

  • Digital Multimedia Broadcasting (DMB) is the mobile TV service based on a digital radio transmission system that provides high quality audio/video and other auxiliary data services. As users want to store the DMB content in their device to be consumed later or to be shared among users, a standardized format needs to be specified to guarantee the interoperability for the DMB contents for various devices. DMB AF (Application Format) specification defines a file format for DMB contents and services. It specifies how to combine the variety of DMB contents with associated information for a presentation in a well-defined format that facilitates storage, interchange, management, editing, and presentation of the DMB contents in protected, governed, and interoperable ways. In this paper we present our implementation of DMB AF as part of the development of DMB AF reference software. Our implementation of DMB AF is developed as the reference software for the standard specification that consists of a three applications: packager, media player, metadata browser and collection of supporting libraries used by the applications.

Reliability of Sn-8Zn-3Bi Solder Paste Applied to Lead and Lead-free Plating on Lead-frame under Thermal Shock Test (다양한 유무연 도금 리드프레임에 적용된 Sn-8Zn-3Bi 솔더 접합부의 열충격 신뢰성 평가)

  • The pull strength and fracture mechanism were investigated to evaluate the reliability and compatibility of Sn-8Zn-3Bi joints, the solder paste on lead and lead-free plating under thermal shock conditions. At the Sn-8Zn-3Bi solder joint, no crack initiation was observed during thermal shock test. After 1000 cycles, the strength of the solder joint decreased not sharply but reduced gradually compared with initial conditions. The decrement of strength was affected by ${\gamma}-Cu_5Zn_8$ IMC growth which caused the IMC fracture on the fracture surface and a change in fracture mode and initial crack point. Clearly, the Sn-8Zn-3Bi solder shows good reliability properties and compatibility with lead-free plated Cu LF under thermal shock temperatures between 248K and 423K.

An I/O Interface Circuit Using CTR Code to Reduce Number of I/O Pins (CTR 코드를 사용한 I/O 핀 수를 감소 시킬 수 있는 인터페이스 회로)

  • As the density of logic gates of VLSI chips has rapidly increased, more number of I/O pins has been required. This results in bigger package size and higher packager cost. The package cost is higher than the cost of bare chips for high I/O count VLSI chips. As the density of logic gates increases, the reduction method of the number of I/O pins for a given complexity of logic gates is required. In this paper, we propose the novel I/O interface circuit using CTR (Constant-Transition-Rate) code to reduce 50% of the number of I/O pins. The rising and falling edges of the symbol pulse of CTR codes contain 2-bit digital data, respectively. Since each symbol of the proposed CTR codes contains 4-bit digital data, the symbol rate can be reduced by the factor of 2 compared with the conventional I/O interface circuit. Also, the simultaneous switching noise(SSN) can be reduced because the transition rate is constant and the transition point of the symbols is widely distributed. The channel encoder is implemented only logic circuits and the circuit of the channel decoder is designed using the over-sampling method. The proper operation of the designed I/O interface circuit was verified using. HSPICE simulation with 0.6 m CMOS SPICE parameters. The simulation results indicate that the data transmission rate of the proposed circuit using 0.6 m CMOS technology is more than 200 Mbps/pin. We implemented the proposed circuit using Altera's FPGA and confimed the operation with the data transfer rate of 22.5 Mbps/pin.

  • Due to the large-scale TV display, the convergence of broadcasting and broadband, and the advancement of signal compression and transmission technology, terrestrial digital broadcasting has evolved into UHD broadcasting capable of providing simultaneous broadcasting of fixed UHD and mobile HD. The Korean standard for terrestrial UHDTV broadcasting is based on ATSC 3.0, the broadcasting standard of North America. The terrestrial UHDTV broadcasting standard chose that as a new AV codec standard, HEVC video codec which can compress with higher efficiency compared to AVC, and MPEG-H 3D audio codec for realistic audio. Also, DASH and MMT are adopted as transmission format instead of MPEG-2 TS to support broadband as well as broadcasting network, and in order to provide 4K UHD/mobile HD service simultaneously ROUTE multiplexing technology is applied. In this paper, we propose an audio/video encoder, which is required to provide HDR/WCG supported high quality video service, 10.2 channel/4 object supporting stereo sound service, fixed UHD and mobile HD simultaneous broadcasting service based on ATSC3.0, also we implemented the ATSC 3.0 LDM system for ROUTE/DASH packager, multiplexing system and physical layer transmission/reception, and verified the service ability by applying it to real time broadcast environment.
