$CS_2$ / KOH Catalysis에 의한 ${\varepsilon}$-Caprolactam의 음이온 중합 (제3보) (Anionic Polymerization of ${\varepsilon}$-Caprolactam via $CS_2$ / KOH Catalysis (Ⅲ))

  • $CS_2$/KOH catalysis를 이용해서 ${\varepsilon}$-caprolactam의 음이온중합을 시키고 percent conversion과 점도를 측정하였다. $80^{\circ}C,\;105^{\circ}C$의 비교적 낮은 온도에서는 $CS_2$/KOH mole ratio가 0.5일때 percent conversion이 가장 높았으며 또 KOH의 당량에 비례하여 percent conversion도 증가하였다. 그러나 $130^{\circ}C,\;155^{\circ}C$로 중합온도를 상승함에 따라 $CS_2$/KOH mole ratio와 KOH양에는 크게 관계없이 높은 percent conversion을 얻을 수 있었다. 그리고 30分 정도의 짧은 중합시간으로도 $80{\%}$ 이상의 높은 percent conversion을 얻을 수 있었다.

  • 양생온도(養生溫度)가 혼화재(混和材)를 사용(使用)한 모르터의 강도(强度)에 미치는 영향(影響)을 조사(調査)키 위해서 양생온도(養生溫度)를 $20^{\circ}C$, $30^{\circ}C$, $35^{\circ}C$로 하여 모르터의 압축(壓縮), 인장(引張), 곡강도시험(曲强度試驗)을 실시(實施)하였고 그 결과(結果)를 요약(要約)하면 다음과 같다. 양생온도(養生溫度) $1^{\circ}C$ 상승(上昇)에 대(對)한 강도증가(强度增加)는 기준강도(基準强度)에 대(對)하여 연탄재첨가시(添加時) 압축강도(壓縮强度)에서 1.58%, 인장강도(引張强度)에서 0.96%, 곡강도(曲强度)에서 1.26% 증가(增加)했다. 동일(同一)한 경우 플라이애쉬 첨가시(添加時) 압축강도(壓縮强度)에서 1.3%, 인장강도(引張强度)에서 0.99%, 곡강도(曲强度)에서 1.18%의 증가(增加)를 나타냈다. 압축강도(壓縮强度)는 플라이애쉬 첨가량(添加量) 25%에서 인장강도(引張强度)는 20%, 곡강도(曲强度)도 20%에서 최대치(最大値)를 나타냈다. 연탄재를 혼합(混合)한 경우 압축강도(壓縮强度)에서 20% 인장강도(引張强度)에서 15~20%, 곡강도(曲强度)에서 20% 첨가(添加)할 때 최대치(最大値)를 나타냈다. 연탄재 첨가(添加)의 경우가 플라이애쉬 첨가(添加)의 경우 보다 저강도(低强度)이나 양생온도(養生溫度)의 조절(調節)로 소요(所要)의 강도(强度)를 얻을수 있기 때문에 혼화재(混和材)로서 개발(開發)할 여지(餘地)가 충분(充分)히 있는 것으로 사료(思料)된다.

먹장어 어묵 제조 (PROCESSING OF STEAMED FISH JELLY PRODUCT FROM HAGFISH)

  • 먹장어를 연제품원료로서 이용하기 위한 기초자료를 얻고자 먹장어 어묵의 최적가공조건을 실험한 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 채육한 육에 대하여 전분은 $5\%$, 식염은 $3\%$, tripolyphosphate는 $0.3\%$, 수세회수는 6회, 1단가열은 $45\~50^{\circ}C$에서 1시간, 2단가열은 $90^{\circ}C$에서 30분간이 좋았다. 1단가열 대신 자연응고 현상을 이용할 경우에는 $25^{\circ}C$에서 1시간 자연응고 시킨 다음 $90^{\circ}C$에서 30분간 가열하는 것이 좋았다.

Statistical flexural toughness modeling of ultra high performance concrete using response surface method

  • This paper aims to model the effects of five different variables which includes: cement content (C), the steel fiber amount (F), the silica fume amount (SF), the superplasticizer (SP), the silica fume amount (SF), and the water to cementitious ratio (w/c) on 28 days flexural toughness of Ultra High Performance Concrete (UHPC) as well as, a study on the variable interactions and correlations by using analyze of variance (ANOVA) and response surface methodology (RSM). The variables were compared by fine aggregate mass. The model will be valid for the mixes with 0.18 to 0.32 w/c ratio, 4 to 8 percent steel fiber, 7 to 13 percent cement, 15 to 30 percent silica fume, and 4 to 8 percent superplasticizer by fine aggregate mass.

Effect of Antioxidant Fortification on Preservability of Buffalo Semen

  • During the process of freezing, spermatozoa suffer cold shock which increases their susceptibility to lipid peroxidation which plays an important role in ageing of spermatozoa, shortening their life span and affecting the preservation of semen. An experiment was therefore conducted to study the effect of addition of natural antioxidants into semen diluents on the preservability of buffalo semen. Split semen samples were extended in milk egg yolk diluents fortified with vitamin E (MYE), vitamin C (MYC) and control group (MYO); Tris-egg yolk diluents fortified with vitamin E (TYE), vitamin C (TYC) and control group (TYO) and evaluated for their preservabilities at 4-7$^{\circ}C$ and $37^{\circ}C$. Overall least squares mean of percent motility observed after 0, 24, 48, 72 and 96 h of preservation at 4-7$^{\circ}C$ were 66.70, 54.00, 36.80, 21.90 and 12.50, respectively while the estimates for semen extended in MYE, MYC, MYO, TYE, TYC and TYO were 44.80, 42.70, 38.70, 36.00, 35.20 and 33.00 percent, respectively. The results showed that motility was significantly (p<0.01) affected by extender (extender-antioxidant combination) and preservation interval. Overall least squares mean percent motility observed after 0, 4, 8, 12 and 24 h of preservation at $37^{\circ}C$ were 68.50, 58.90, 45.00, 38.10 and 18.10 percent, respectively, while the estimates for semen extended in MYE, MYC, MYO, TYE, TYC and TYO were 48.20, 49.30, 46.80, 45.30, 42.30 and 42.50 percent, respectively. Extender and storage interval were found to be significantly (p<0.01) affecting spermatozoa motility on room temperature preservation. The results indicated that the incorporation of antioxidants, especially vitamin E, had beneficial effect on preservability of buffalo semen.

신생아의 정맥천자시 통증 감소 효과 : 경구 포도당액, EMLA 크림 및 노리개 젖꼭지 (Pain reduction at venipuncture in newborn infants : oral glucose solution, EMLA cream and pacifiers)

  • 목 적 : 신생아에서 포도당의 경구 투여, 국소 마취 크림인 $EMLA^{(R)}$와 노리개 젖꼭지의 통증 감소 효과를 비교하고자 하였다. 방 법 : 2003년 3월부터 12월까지 조선대학교병원 신생아실에 입원한 신생아들을 대상으로 4가지 방법으로 통증 감소를 측정하였다. 제 A군(대조군)은 아무것도 투여하지 않은 군, 제 B군은 $EMLA^{(R)}$ 크림을 바른 군, 제 C군은 10% 포도당액을 먹인 군, 제 D군은 30% 포도당액을 먹인 군, 마지막 제 E군은 노리개 젖꼭지를 물린 군으로 나누어서 통증의 감소를 비교하였다. 통증의 평가는 PIPP 점수를 측정하였다. 결 과 : 미숙아와 만삭아 사이에서 평균 PIPP 점수에는 유의한 차이가 없었다. 각 군의 평균 PIPP 점수를 보면 A군 $12.5{\pm}2.5$, B군 $10.1{\pm}2.6$, C군 $9.4{\pm}2.0$, D군 $6.5{\pm}2.1$, E군이 $8.7{\pm}2.3$로 대조군에 비해서 다른 군들이 유의하게 낮았다($EMLA^{(R)}$ 크림군 P<0.05, 그 외 모두, P<0.001). D군의 평균점수가 B, C, E군들의 평균 PIPP 점수에 비해 유의하게 낮았다(각각, P<0.001, P<0.005, P<0.05). 통증을 느끼는 PIPP 6점 이상의 비율을 비교하면 A군 100%, B군 82%, C군 56%, D군 40%, E군은 70%로 D군에서 가장 낮았다. 심한 통증을 느끼는 PIPP 12점 이상의 비율을 비교하면 A군 72%, B군 30%, C군 22%, D군 0%, E군은 14%로 D군이 가장 낮았다. 결 론 : 신생아에서 통증의 감소에 포도당액의 경구 투여, $EMLA^{(R)}$ 크림, 노리개 젖꼭지가 모두 효과가 있었으며, 특히 30% 포도당액의 경구 투여가 가장 효과적이었다.

Comparison of Carcass Composition of Iranian Fat-tailed Sheep

  • Most breeds of sheep in Iran are adapted to their agro ecological niches where it is likely that they were also artificially selected by their owners. In general, most of sheep breeds are multipurpose producing lambs, wool and milk. To compare the physical and chemical composition of the carcasses of ten Iranian native fat-tailed sheep breeds, 243 male lambs (6-7 months of age) of ten fattailed, Iranian breeds of sheep, Sanjabi (S), Ghezel (G), Afshari (A), Mehrabani (M), Lori (L), Lori Bakhtiari (LB), Kordi Khorasan (K), Sangesari (Sa), Baluchi (B) and Chal (C) were studied. Lamb breed group had a significant (p<0.05) effect on all the carcass traits measured. The LB and C lambs showed the same live weight which was significantly (p<0.05) higher than the other breeds. Carcass dressing- out percentage in S lambs was lowest (p<0.05), but not different from G lambs. K and Sa breeds showed the highest (p<0.05) carcass dressing-out percentage. The S lambs had the highest (p<0.05) lean meat percent. Lean meat percentage was not significantly (p>0.05) different in the G, A, M and C breeds. The Sa and K breeds showed the lowest lean meat percent. The S lambs showed the lowest (p<0.05) fat percent in their carcass, while K and Sa showed the highest (p<0.05). Subcutaneous fat in K, Sa and B was higher (p<0.05) than the other breeds. Lambs of S, G, A and M breeds had the lowest subcutaneous fat in their carcasses (p>0.05). Intramascular fat was significantly (p<0.05) lower in M, S and C despite the fact that this values were highest in B and K lambs. The K and Sa breeds had highest fat-tail percentage (p<0.05) in their carcass, whereas S and G showed lowest. Lambs of G, S and A breeds had higher bone percent than other breeds (p<0.05). Lowest bone percent (p<0.05) was seen in K and Sa lambs. The carcass moisture percent was not significantly (p>0.05) different in S, G, A, M, L and C breeds. M lambs showed the lowest crude protein percentage and S breed the highest (p<0.05). There were no significant (p>0.05) differences among other lamb breeds for this trait. Chemical fat percentage was the same in S, G, A, C and M breeds, but significantly (p<0.05) lower from LB, K, Sa and B. Ash percent in S, G and A had no significant (p>0.05) difference. According to higher lean meat and lower fat percentages in the carcass, the ranking of breeds would be S, G, A, M and C.

빙해선박용 강재의 저온특성에 관한 연구 (On the Mechanical Properties at Low Temperatures for Steels of Ice-Class Vessels)

  • Tensile tests were conducted at low temperatures for the steel materials which are used for outer shell of the vessels making transit through the polar regions. The selected steel materials were GL-DH32, GL-DH36 and GL-EH36. In comparison with the results at room temperature, the yield stress increases approximately by 10 to 13 percent at $-30^{\circ}C$ and by 13 to 19 percent at $-50^{\circ}C$ while the tensile strength increases about by 9 percent at $-30^{\circ}C$ and 11 to 14 percent at $-50^{\circ}C$. To obtain true stress-true strain, i.e. correct plastic hardening characteristics, Bridgman's(1952) necking correction formula was introduced taking triaxial state of stresses after onset of diffuse necking into consideration. Photographs of fractured surfaces were taken by using Scanning Electron Microscope immedately after tensile tests completed and one for GL-EH36 has been presented in this paper.

견의 중성염류에 의한 염축에 관한 연구 (Studies on the Shrinkage of Silk Yarn by Neutral Salts)

  • 견사에 대한 실용적인 염축조건 구명을 위하여 3종 중성염류의 처리농도시간 및 온도조건이 처리견사의 수축율 및 물성에 미치는 영향을 검토한 결과 1. Ca(NO3)2의 처리조건, 비중 1.45, 9$0^{\circ}C$ 또는 비중 1.46, 8$0^{\circ}C$에서 견사의 수축율이 35% 내외였다. 2. CaCl2는 비중 1.33, 9$0^{\circ}C$, 5분 또는 85$^{\circ}C$ 10분의 처리조건에서 견사의 수축율이 40% 내외였다. 3. LiBr은 비중 1.38, $25^{\circ}C$ 24시간 처리에서 견사의 수축율 40% 내외였다. 4. 수축율 증가는 여러 가지 물리적 성질변화를 가져오는데 3종의 중성염류에 따라 변화율은 다소 차이가 있으나 강도의 감소가 현저히 나타나며 신도는 증가하는 추세를 나타내었다. 5. 염축견사의 팽화도는 미처리견사에 비하여 100% 이상 향상되었으나 처리견사의 강력은 미처리견사의 반 정도로 감소되었다.

일부 도시지역에 있어서 중, 고교생의 월경에 관한 조사연구 (Survey on Menstruation of Middle & High School Girls in an Urban Area)

  • The conclusions were obtained from the detailed survey of 1,285 students experiencing menstruation, who were chosen among 1,717 students in middle & high school girls in Seoul. The survey was conducted during July 20-July 24, 1971. 1. Age of Menarche An average age of menarche was 13.3$\pm$1.07. The earliest age of menarche was 9 and the latest age 18. Ages of menarche were between 12 and 14 in 84.3 percent of the students surveyed. a. By present age distribution, the aged students were lower, than younger students in the average age of menarche. b. By father′s educational levels, among the students whose fathers were graduated from high schools, college & ever the earliest average age of menarche was found with 13.2, and among the students whose fathers were graduated from primary schools that wag latest with 13.6. c. By father′s occupations, among the students whose fathom engaged in "workers not classifiable"the earliest age of menarche was found with 12.5$\pm$0.27, among the students whose fathers were in "service business"the second was 12.9$\pm$1.07, and among the students whose fathers were in "miners, quarrymen and related workers"that was latest with 13.8$\pm$1.14. d. By economic status, among the students of "wealthy"families the age of menarche was 13.1$\pm$0.25, the among the students of "ordinary"families the lags of menarche 13.3$\pm$1.06. and the among the students of "poor" families that was 13.8$\pm$0.31. e. By home discipline, among the students being treated "rigid" the age of menarche was 13.5$\pm$1.13, among the students being treated "moderate"the age of menarche was 13.3$\pm$0.22, and those being treated "indifferent" that was 13.0$\pm$0.26. f. By students physical condition, among the students of "good" condition the average of menarche was 13.3$\pm$0.16, and among the students "poor" that was 13.5$\pm$0.31. 2. Menstruation a. For the six months after the average of menarche 39.0 percent of the students had normal menstruations, and 61.3 percent of them had abnormal ones. Of the students with abnormal menstruation 21.7 percent had abnormal menstruation from time to time, 25.4 percent had no menstruation for one month to three months, 7.2 percent had menstruation for four to six months and 6.7 per cent had no menstruation for more than sin months. Most students became to have normal menstruations a few months later the age of menarche. b. At the time interviewed, the percentile of cycle of menstruation as following: 23 days types: 46.8 percent 30 days types: 40.6 percent others : 12.6 percent The average cycle of menstruation was every 28.9 days. c. The average duration of menstruation is 4.69 days. d. The subjective symptoms during menstruation period: Out of the total 89.7 per cent had some pains, while 10.3 percent had no symptom. Among the symptoms, abdominal pain occupied 29.9 percent, neurotic symptoms 19.0 percent and lumbago 15.1 percent. e. By attitude or Action at first physical change, "Treated it by own experience" : 30.0 percent "Don′t know what to do because of ignorance" : 20.1 percent "Asked others about it" : 43.0 percent
