  • We investigate the multiplicity of the nontrivial periodic solutions for a class of the system of the nonlinear suspension bridge equations with Dirichlet boundary condition and periodic condition. We show that the system has at least two nontrivial periodic solutions by the abstract version of the critical point theory on the manifold with boundary. We investigate the geometry of the sublevel sets of the corresponding functional of the system and the topology of the sublevel sets. Since the functional is strongly indefinite, we use the notion of the suitable version of the Palais-Smale condition.

  • In this paper, the global stability and almost periodicity are investigated for generalized Hopfield neural networks with time-varying neutral delays. Some sufficient conditions are obtained for the existence and globally exponential stability of almost periodic solution by employing fixed point theorem and differential inequality techniques. The results of this paper are new and complement previously known results. Finally, an example is given to demonstrate the effectiveness of our results.

  • The Reidemeister orbit set plays a crucial role in the Nielsen type theory of periodic orbits, such as the Reidemeister set does in Nielsen fixed point theory. In this paper, using Heath and You's methods on Nielsen type numbers, we show that these numbers can be evaluated by the set of essential orbit classes under suitable hypotheses, and obtain some formulas in some special cases.

  • A class of periodic type boundary value problems of coupled impulsive fractional differential equations are proposed. Sufficient conditions are given for the existence of solutions of these problems. We allow the nonlinearities p(t)f(t, x, y) and q(t)g(t, x, y) in fractional differential equations to be singular at t = 0, 1 and be involved a sup-multiplicative-like function. So both f and g may be super-linear and sub-linear. The analysis relies on a well known fixed point theorem. An example is given to illustrate the efficiency of the theorems.

  • Investigating local dynamics requires precise control to effectively manage the subtle differences that distinguish it from global dynamics. This paper aims to study the localized perspective of the recently proposed continuum-wise expansive measures [13]. Let f : M → M be a diffeomorphism on a closed smooth manifold M and let p be a hyperbolic periodic point of f. We prove that if the homoclinic class Hf (p) of f associated to p is C1-robustly measure continuum-wise expansive then it is hyperbolic.

  • We show the existence of the nontrivial periodic solution for a class of the system of the nonlinear suspension bridge equations with Dirichlet boundary condition and periodic condition by critical point theory and linking arguments. We investigate the geometry of the sublevel sets of the corresponding functional of the system, the topology of the sublevel sets and linking construction between two sublevel sets. Since the functional is strongly indefinite, we use the linking theorem for the strongly indefinite functional and the notion of the suitable version of the Palais-Smale condition.

  • In this paper, a class of impulsive fuzzy bi-directional associative memory (BAM) neural networks with distributed delays and variable coefficients are considered. Using Lyapunov functional method and fixed point theorem, we derived some sufficient conditions for the existence and globally exponential stability of unique periodic solution of the networks. The results obtained are new and extend the previous known results. In addition, an example is given to show the effectiveness of our results obtained.

  • The present study deals with the nonlinear dynamics and stability of autonomous dissipative either imperfect potential (limit point) systems or perfect (bifurcational) non-potential ones. Through a fully nonlinear dynamic analysis, performed on two simple 2-DOF models corresponding to the classes of systems mentioned above, and with the aid of basic definitions of the theory of nonlinear dynamical systems, new important phenomena are revealed. For the first class of systems a third possibility of postbuckling dynamic response is offered, associated with a point attractor on the prebuckling primary path, while for the second one the new findings are chaos-like (most likely chaotic) motions, consecutive regions of point and periodic attractors, series of global bifurcations and point attractor response of always existing complementary equilibrium configurations, regardless of the value of the nonconservativeness parameter.
