  • Marine seismic processing is characterized by a great amount of data, several professional processing steps, and various parameters to be decided in each step. In general, adequate processing sequence and optimum parameters are obtained through test processing with sample set of data representing the whole group. The sequence and parameters are then applied in processing the whole data. In this paper, optimum processing sequence and parameters for the data acquired in Korean continental shelf are examined through test processing with real data. Finally, a good-quality migration section is produced using those sequence and parameters decided on the basis of the test results.

GeoNet : Web-based Remotely Sensed Image Processing System

  • Previous technology of remote sensing was focused on analyzing raster image and gaining information through image processing. But now it has extended to diverse fields like automatic map generation, material exploitation or monitoring environmental changes with effort to utilizing practical usage. And with rapid expansion of information exchange on Internet and high-speed network, the demand of public which want to utilize remotely sensed image has been increased. This makes growth of service on acquisition and processing remotely sensed image. GeoNet is a Java-based remotely sensed image processing system. It is based on Java object-oriented paradigm and features cross-platform, web-based execution and extensibility to client/server remotely sensed image processing model. Remotely sensed image processing software made by Java programming language can suggest alternatives to meet readily demand on remotely sensed image processing in proportion to increase of remotely sensed data. In this paper, we introduce GeoNet and explain its architecture.

  • This paper describes the implementation of a high speed image processing board. This image processing board is consist of a image acquisition part and a image processing part. The image acquistion part is digitizing the image input data from CIS and save it to the dual port RAM. By putting on the dual port memory between two parts, during acquistion of image, the image processing part can be effectively processing of large-volume image data. Most of all image preprocessing part are integrated in a large-scaled FPGA. We arwe using ADSP-2181 of the Analog Device Inc., LTD. for a image processing part, and using the available all memory of DSP for the large-volume image data. Especially, using of IDMA exchanges the data with the external microprocessor or the external PC, and can watch the result of image processing and acquired image. Finally, we show that an implemented image processing board used for the simulation of image retreval by the one of the typical application.

  • Most applications using the PKI allows a user to execute the certificate validation processing. The efficiency of user system can be declined by the user-side processing resulting the overhead and low speed of the validation processing. Therefore, in this paper, we propose a new certificate validation processing method can decrease the overhead on user by allowing CAs of the hierarchical PKI to participate in the validation processing. Therefore, our proposed scheme can not only reduce the considerable overhead caused by the user-side whole processing without a new implementation of the delegated server but also improve the time spent for the processing by the reduction of the validation processing job on user.

  • This study aims to examine factors affecting the seafood processing business of primary cooperatives. For this purpose, I divided primary cooperatives that participate to seafood processing business into three group by sales scale. And then analyzed survey results for the four items that might be affecting the seafood processing business, type of seafood processing methods, HACCP certification status, distribution channels, processing difficulties during project implementation, etc. The result offers four implications. First, It is desirable to reduce the burden of the initial investment by leveraging the consignment process at the initial entry to seafood processing business. Second, HACCP certification is essential factor in order to promote seafood processing business as a long-term economic business. Third, To the steady growth of the seafood processing business, it is important to secure fixed large customers, as well as a individual customer. Fourth, For the continued growth of the seafood processing business it should be approached differently by way of sales, when the National Federation of Fisheries Cooperatives support to primary cooperatives.

Happiness from What We Have and What We Experience: Attribute Non-alignability Increases Anticipated Satisfaction from Experiential Purchases

  • This research examines how processing type and alignability moderate the effect of product type on satisfaction (i.e., happiness). It is well known that there are two types of processing-deliberative and intuitive processing. Based on the previous literature that the intuitive processing is compatible with experiential purchases and the deliberative processing is fit with material purchase, the current research demonstrates that processing type moderates the effect of product type on happiness. Moreover, we hypothesize that alignability moderates the effect of product type on anticipated satisfaction. As expected, participants in the intuitive processing condition reported greater happiness from their experiential purchases than material purchases. However, in the deliberative processing condition, there was no significant difference between happiness levels from material and experiential purchases. Furthermore, when the attributes of choice options were presented in a non-alignable manner, participants reported greater anticipated satisfaction from experiential purchases than from material purchases. However, this difference disappeared when attributes were presented in an alignable manner. Finally, we propose 'choice process' satisfaction as a potential mediator of the moderating effect of processing type on the relationship between product type and (anticipated) satisfaction.

A Study on the Restructuring of Seaweed Processing Industry (완도지역 미역가공업의 구조재편에 관한 사례 연구)

  • The seaweed processing industry in Korea has developed since the late of 1970s, motivated by exports of salted seaweed to the Japan market. However, due to the keen competition of Korean salted and dried seaweed with chinese products in the japan market, exports of Korean seaweed have been in the decreasing. It also has promoted the restructuring of the seaweed processing industry itself as follows: first, the processing type has been changed from the slated seaweed processing to the dried seaweed processing. Second, domestic markets for seaweed have been significantly expanded. This study is aimed to investigate some problems that the seaweed processing industry currently faces and to provide responding strategies for its development by analyzing a background, characteristics, and business types in the Wando region of Jeollanamdo that is a primary region of the seaweed processing industry in Korea. The background that the seaweed processing industry in Wando region could be started and developed is that first, small and mid-size salted seaweed processing companies have grown fast due to the exports to the japan market. Second, various business conditions, including seaweed materials, labors that are very important factors for the seaweed processing were more suitable compared to other regions. As characteristics of the seaweed processing industry, it shows that small-scale companies have a larger decreasing rate in sales and over 85% companies process seaweed together with other materials such as kelp, etc. The biggest problem that the seaweed processing industry has is that it has not timely responded to changes in domestic and international markets. Therefore, it is very important to cope with market changes by both introducing an aquaculture outlook service for seaweed and promoting higher value-added products and demands through publicities.

  • This study is to analyse marketing and industrial structure of meat processing industry and to examine it's current situation related to agriculture. For this purpose 1. This paper surveys the history of meat processing industry, and analyses current situation of meat processing industry, based upon economic statistic data. 2. For the research of marketing structure of meat processing products, this paper not only ciassifies into three catagories; the supply of raw meat, main marketing organization, and path, but measures magnitude of Marketing Bill and Farmer's Share practically through statistic data and an on-the-spot survey. 3. This study also attempt to explain the relation of meat processing industry and the other industry and role of meat processing industry is Korean economy by the use of input-output table. The results of the study are as follows; 1. The meat processing industry in Korea produces low quality, and expensive raw meat with limited quality, inefficiency of marketing structure, and unrelated livestock and meat processing industry. 2. Korea market structure of meat processing products has been changed into oligopoly from monopoly by a new corporation entered into monopoly and the size of meat processing market firms has been normalized. 3. Meat processing industry is very important considering with its high back-linkage-effect. In order to develop meat processing industry and marketing, it is essential that operation of intergrated meat market center, meat market center should be efficiently operated. The efficient utilization of domestic resource for raw meat and development of processing technique have to be required, by means of the governmental support.

Comparison of Social Quotient and Sensory Processing According to the Toileting Ability in Children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (자폐스펙트럼장애 아동에서 대소변 가림 여부에 따른 사회지수 및 감각처리기능 비교)

  • Purpose : The purpose of this study was to investigate the differences in social quotient and sensory processing function between completed-toileting and incomplete-toileting children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). We aims to provide a basis for the training of children with autism spectrum disorders. Methods : The subjects of this research were children with ASD, aged from 4 to 7, receiving sensory integration therapy at the H-Child Development Research Center in Busan, South Korea. After recruiting 30 parents who had children with ASD, we interviewed them and we divided their children into completed-toileting group and incomplete-toileting group based on the past researches. We assessed them using the Social Maturity Scale and Sensory Profile. Spearman correlation was used to analyze between the sensory processing score and social quotient. Mann-Whitney U test was used to compare the Sensory Profile scores of the two groups. Results : The social quotient was correlated with the sensory processing score in the most of component as for auditory processing, vestibular processing, touch processing, multisensory processing, orosensory processing, except for visual processing. The groups of completed-toileting and incomplete-toileting group showed statistically significant intergroup difference in sensory seeking, emotional reactive, oral-sensory sensitivity, and inattention/distractibility in the sensory factor region. No statistically significant difference from intergroup was observed in any modulation areas, nor in behavioral & emotional response domains. Conclusion : A significant intergroup difference was observed in the most of sensory processing areas, except for modulation areas and behavioral & emotional response domains. The result revealed that toileting is significantly correlated with sensory processing. Therefore, this study suggests that the sensory processing function should be considered in the toilet training of children with ASD.

Effect of freezing on electrical properties and quality of thawed chicken breast meat

  • Objective: The objective of this research was to study the electrical properties and quality of frozen-thawed chicken breast meat and to investigate the relationship between these parameters at different times of frozen storage. Methods: Thawed samples of chicken breast muscles were evaluated after being kept in frozen storage at $-18^{\circ}C$ for different periods of time (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8 months). Results: The results showed that water-holding capacity (WHC) and protein solubility decreased while thiobarbituric acid-reactive substances content increased with increasing storage time. The impedance module of samples decreased during 8-month frozen storage. Pearson correlation coefficients showed that the impedance change ratio (Q value) was significantly (p<0.05) related to pH, color, WHC, lipid oxidation and protein solubility, indicating a good relationship between the electrical properties and qualities of frozen-thawed chicken breast meat. Conclusion: Impedance measurement has a potential to assess the quality of frozen chicken meat combining with quality indices.
