The Study on the Wafer Surface and Pad Characteristic for Optimal Condition in Wafer Final Polishing (최적조건 선정을 위한 Pad 특성과 Wafer Final Polishing의 가공표면에 관한 연구)

  • Polishing is one of the important methods in manufacturing of Si wafers and in thinning of completed device wafers. This study will report the characteristic of wafer according to processing time, machining speed and pressure which have major influence on the abrasion of Si wafer polishing. It is possible to evaluation of wafer abrasion by load cell and infrared temperature sensor. The characteristic of wafer surface according to processing condition is selected to use a result data that measure a pressure, machining speed, and the processing time. This result is appeared by the characteristic of wafer surface in machining condition. Through that, the study cans evaluation a wafer characteristic in variable machining condition. It is important to obtain optimal condition. Thus the optimum condition selection of ultra precision Si wafer polishing using load cell and infrared temperature sensor. To evaluate each machining factor, use a data through each sensor. That evaluation of abrasion according to variety condition is selected to use a result data that measure a pressure, machining speed, and the processing time. And optimum condition is selected by this result.

  • There was no useful milling standard to produce high quality milled rice efficiently and adequately in Rice Processing Complex. Therefore, the whiteness of milled rice produced Rice Processing Complexes were different according to Rice Processing Complexes and milling periods at the same Rice Processing Complex. This research was carried out to contribute the production and distribution of high quality milled rice through determination of whiteness condition of milled rice as a milling stndard based on degree of bran removal using New $May-Gr\ddot{u}wald$ reagent dyeing method and taste of cooked rice. The optimum whiteness value of milled rice for efficient milling in Rice Processing Complex was found to be from 40 to 41, while the degree of milling was from $8.9\%\;to\;9.2\%.$ At this whiteness condition, the first derivative of whiteness value according to degree of milling was higher than the average value from brown rice to well milled rice, and the broken kernel ratio was from $3.0\%\;to\;3.4\%.$ This whiteness condition ($40\~41$) could be considered as a milling condition in Rice Processing Complex.

  • The control of the roll velocities is essential in maintaining stability during ring rolling, but such control is difficult. The determination of the best roll velocities can be helped with the use of FE simulations and processing maps, which give the useful information such as power dissipation and flow instability for hot metal forming processes. In the current study, the workability of 7050 aluminum alloy is evaluated by using processing map. With the developed information, the stability of the ring rolling condition, called the Constant Growth Velocity Condition (CGVC), is evaluated.

  • The purpose of this study is to find the optimization processing on expanded tube using Taguchi method which was generally used to analyze the effects of various control factors. Mini-Tab is a good for program that is making a selection using Taguchi method. The results of experimental test and analysis are as follows. Optimization processing on a expanded tube is dependent on lubrication condition. The slight eccentricity of expanded tube was obtained a good results on the expanded tube. When expending processing on the expanded tube was performed, the test specimens were almost unaffected by changing pressure loading. The tendencies of test results were related to lubrication condition and eccentricity in expending processing. As a result, a proper lubrication condition and eccentricity in the step of design will improve the optimization processing of expanded tube.

  • Friction stir welding(FSW) was developed as a new solid state welding technique by The Welding Institute (TWI). On the basis of FSW, a new processing technique, friction stir processing (FSP), has recently been developed. FSP has been applied to cast aluminum alloy to modify the microstructure to enhance mechanical characteristic. FSP is a new solid state processing technique for microstructural modification in metallic materials. FSP has been applied to aluminum alloy to modify the microstructure to enhance mechanical characteristic. In this study, we investigated optimum condition friction stir processing with the evaluation of mechanical characteristic for 5456-H116 Al alloy. The mechanical characteristics of base metal similar with in 15 mm/min, 250 RPM with full screw probe. This condition is concluded that optimum friction stir processing condition. The result of this investigation will be able to application for repair of welding part for aluminum ship.

  • Drop size is one of the most important parameters which are control the performance of the engine using liquid fuel/oxidizer and drop formation is mainly controlled by aerodynamic force caused by ambient gas. Because of this, empirical data and correlation acquired under standard ambient condition are not valid. So experiments under high ambient pressure condition to measure the drop size using image processing method And find the empirical correlation between SMD and chamber pressure(density), injection velocity.

  • The wear particle analysis has been known as very effective method to foreknow and decide a moving situation and a damage of machine parts by using the digital computer image processing. But it was not laid down and trusted to calculate shape parameters of wear particle and wear volume. In order to apply image processing method in the foreknowledge and decision of lubricated condition, it needs to verify the reliability of the calculated data by the image processing and to lay down the number of images and the amount of wear particle in one image. In this study, the lubricated friction experiment was carried out in order to establish the optimum image capture with the SM45C specimen under experiment condition. The wear particle data were calculated differently according to the number of image and the amount of wear particle in one image.

  • This paper presents a design methodology of a distribution transformer with condition monitoring sensors and its data processing unit. The proposed distribution transformer includes various type of condition monitoring sensors such as load current/voltage, temperature and heat aging of insulating oil. The data processing unit is installed at the distribution transformer site. It integrates sensed data and transmits these to a central server system. The proposed distribution transformer and its data processing unit will help an on-line condition monitoring system for distribution transformers.

  • In this paper, precision processing is carried out for the pre hardened steel(HRC 54), which is one of injection mould materials. Processing characteristics are estimated according to the number of tool cutting blade and roundness is observed by the 3-Dimensional measuring machine. The surface roughness affected by the wire electric discharge machining are measured. Cutting component force of STAVOX is the highest in condition of 2F processing because load per a blade of cutting tool is high. Especially, the difference in Fz is over 20N by cutting load. The slower spindle rotation speed and tool feed rate are, the better cutting component force is. The roundness of hole processed in condition of 4F is good because feed rate is able to be fast. When rotation speed is increased, the surface roughness is decreased. The surface roughness acquired in condition of 2F processing is higher about 50% than 4F processing.

  • Quality of injection molded parts is dependent on both mold design and processing conditions. From the mold design point of view, an optimal shrinkage should be used to compensate the shrinkage of molded parts. From the processing point of view, it is important to analyze the priority of processing conditions because a number processing conditions affect the quality of molded parts. Processing analysis employing the design of experiment was performed, and the shrinkage of molded part was considered as a characteristic parameter to improve the quality. As the result of the analysis of variance on SN ratio of a characteristic value, injection speed and bolding pressure were selected as two effective process parameters. Regression analysis on shrinkage and processing conditions was carried out, and an optimal processing condition was obtained by the response surface analysis. Shrinkage at the optimal condition could be used to reduce the number of try-cut at the step of mold making. The ranges of indirect control parameter, such as maximum cavity pressure or weight, measured at the optimal processing condition were used for monitoring the quality of molded parts in process.
