  • Projection stereolithography is an additive manufacturing method that uses beam projection to cure the photo-reactive resin used. The light source of a cross-section layer-form illuminates photo-curable resin for building a three-dimensional (3D) model. This method has high accuracy and a fast molding speed because the processing unit is a face instead of a dot. This study describes a Scalable Projection Stereolithography 3D Printing System for improving the accuracy of the stereolithography. In a conventional projection 3D printer, when printing a small sized model, many pixels are not used in the projection or curing. The proposed system solves this problem through an optical adjustment, and keeps using the original image as possible as filling the whole projection area. The experimental verification shows that the proposed system can maintain the highest level of precision regardless of the output size.

  • In this paper, we introduce and studied a system of nonlinear projection equations with perturbation in Hilbert spaces. By using the fixed point theorem, we prove an existence of solution for this system of nonlinear projection equations. We construct an algorithm for approximating the solution of the system of nonlinear projection equations with perturbation and show that the iterative sequence generated by the algorithm converges to the solution of the system of nonlinear projection equations with perturbation under some suitable conditions.

  • Small-scale maps currently used are made by scanning and editing printed maps and its shortcoming is accumulated errors at the time of editing and low accuracy. TM projection method is used but its accuracy varies. In addition, small-scale maps are made without consideration of usability and compatibility with other scale maps. Therefore, it is necessary to suggest projection and coordinates system improvement methods in consideration of usability and compatibility between data. The results of this study reveal that in order to make the optimum small-scale map, projection that fits the purpose of map usage in each scale, coordinate system and neat line composition should be selected in consideration of interrelation and compatibility with other maps. Conic projection should be used to accurately illustrate the entire country, but considering usability and compatibility with other maps, traversing cylindrical projection should be used instead of conic projection. For coordinates system of the small-scale map, Universal Transverse Mercator (UTM-K) based on the World Geodetic System should be used instead of conventional longitude and latitude coordinate system or Transverse Mercator.

  • The suggested modular projection system can have flexible arrangements of screens. Modular and continuous arrangements of the display system enable us to modify the screen configuration easily, so that the system can be used in various applications. The image of each screen is calculated automatically by using window projection and the tracked position of the viewer. This system also uses the off-axis stereoscopic projection for the seamless stereoscopic edge blending of multiple connections of screens. The system has been successfully tested for the general navigation model and the CAU driving simulator with motion platform.

  • The approximate solvability of a generalized system for non-linear variational inequality in Hilbert spaces was studied, based on the convergence of projection methods. But little research was done in Banach space. The primary reason was that projection mapping lacked preferably property in Banach space. In this paper, we introduced the generalized projection methods. By using these methods, the results presented in this paper extended the main results of S. S. Chang [3] from Hilbert spaces to Banach space.

  • Projection method has been used in the phase equilibria study. The projection is made through the saturated phase on the smaller chemical system from larger system. This decreases the number of phases which are included in the larger chemical system. In multiple projection containing plagioclase as a projection phase, there is a difference in matrix calculation when plagioclase is treated as a single composite component and separately as an albite and anorthite. The matrix calculation is considered to be more usable and easier in multiple projection. The value of the A component in the AFM system, which is the smaller system projected from the larger one, is effected and varies according to the change in the An content in plagioclase that is examined as an example.

  • In this article, some projection methods (or fractional-step methods) are proposed and analyzed for the micropolar Navier-Stokes equations (MNSE). These methods allow us to decouple the MNSE system into two sub-problems at each timestep, one is the linear and angular velocities system, the other is the pressure system. Both first-order and second-order projection methods are considered. For the classical first-order projection scheme, the stability and error estimates for the linear and angular velocities and the pressure are established rigorously. In addition, a modified first-order projection scheme which leads to some improved error estimates is also proposed and analyzed. We also present the second-order projection method which is unconditionally stable. Ample numerical experiments are performed to confirm the theoretical predictions and demonstrate the efficiency of the methods.

  • Conventional projection welding systems suffer from lots of defective products caused by manual handling. In this paper, we introduce a projection welding system that performs automatic identification, welding and counting of components and products. The proposed system checks the existence and identifies placement of components to be welded by a vision camera. After welding of the components, it automatically updates product counts and dressing items. We show that the proposed welding system can reduce the defect rate and improve the productivity through experimental test with a existing system.
