The Effects of VM Components on Store Image and Purchasing Intention of Fashion Stores - Focused on Facade Color and Show Window Type - (의류매장의 VM 구성요소가 점포이미지와 구매의도에 미치는 영향 - 파사드 색상과 쇼 윈도우 유형을 중심으로 -)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of VM components(facade color and show window type) on store image and purchasing intention of fashion stores. The subjects were 428 male and female university students in Daejeon and Chungnam province. The measuring instruments were 6 stimuli manipulated by $3{\times}2$ factorial design of facade color and show window type, and a self-administrated questionnaire consisted of store image, purchasing intention, and subjects' demographic characteristics. The results were as follows. First, facade color mainly affected store image and purchasing intention. White color was preferred as more positive images(pleasurable, comfortable, neat, and modern), and showed higher purchasing intention than brown color. Second, show window type affected some store images. Semi-open type was perceived as more pleasurable image than enclosed type, whereas enclosed type was perceived as more luxurious, neat, and attractive image than semi-open type. However, show window type didn't affect purchasing intention. Third, subject' sex affected store image and purchasing intention. Male subjects perceived more positively on store image and had higher purchasing intention than females. This study suggested that facade color and show window type are important VM components affecting store image and purchasing intention.

  • This paper tried to find how the characteristics of purchasing items would have influence on the relational e-procurement. The characteristics of purchasing items include the importance and the complexity of purchasing items. In order to define these characteristics, this paper reviewed various literatures about purchasing strategies. The empirical analysis through the multi-nominal logistic regression shows that the importance of items has influence on relational e-procurement, while the complexity of purchasing process has little influence. And also, the relational e-procurement through EDI as a long term buying relationship is being converted toward the exchange through purchasing sites.

  • Purpose: This study looked at perfume buying patterns among 328 adolescents. Research design, data and methodology: The purchasing behaviors and attitudes of adolescents were divided into clusters and whether the purchasing behaviors and attitudes of each cluster had a moderating effect on purchasing behavior factors was analyzed. Results: Group classification according to attitude toward perfume purchasing behavior was divided into group 1, which purchases perfume according to one's own subjective opinion, and group 2, who purchases perfume according to external factors. Among the six purchasing behavior factors, the internal pleasure-seeking (p.<001) and fashion-seeking (p.<001) factors were statistically significant in both clusters 1 and 2, and in cluster 2, economic feasibility (p.<001)) internal product. It was found to be statistically significant other than pleasure and trend-seeking, indicating that there is a difference between the two groups. Conclusion:Adolescents consider economic feasibility when purchasing perfume, so it is necessary to set low prices and diversify products for marketing plans for perfume products

The Effects of Internet Shoppers' Trust on Purchasing Intention in China

  • Recently, owing to the rapid development of Internet and information technology in China, the growth of consumers' purchasing activities in the Internet Shopping Mall has been truly phenomenal. Thus, it is considered essential to understand what affects Chinese consumer's intention to purchase in the Internet Shopping Mall. Based on prior studies, trust is thought as a key factor affecting on Chinese consumers' purchasing intention. Hence, the purpose of the study is to investigate the effects of Chinese consumer's trust on purchasing intention of Internet Shopping Mall. In order to accomplish the purpose of this study, a research model has been established and it suggests that there are significant relationships between trust and purchasing intention, e-commerce knowledge and trust, perceived reputation and trust, perceived risk and trust, perceived ease of use and purchasing intention. The results of the study show that the relationships between these variables are all significant. This research confirms the important effect of Chinese consumer's trust on purchasing intention. Implications of these findings are discussed for researchers and practitioners.

A Study on Clothing Purchasing Behavior and Value of College Students (대학생의 가치관과 의복구매행동에 관한 연구)

  • The purposes of this study was to examine the college students'value and the status of their clothing purchasing behavior, and to compare the correlation between both of them. The questions were centered on 511 students who are attending the universities in Seoul. The results of this study were as follows. First, most students have higher value on politics, economy, and theory in the order listed. Male-students were interested in theory, while female-students were more interested in politics. Second, when they purchase their clothes, the factor of decision was based on design and their observation was another important factor. As for selecting shops, they considered the product as the most important factor and then the service & transportation. Third, I inspected the correlation between their value & the status of their clothing purchasing behavior. The students with lower theoretical value considered the quality as a purchasing factor, and the service as a purchasing factor, common shop as a purchasing shop, adn the convenient transportation system as a factor of selecting a shop.

The Relationship between Clothing Attitudes and Clothing Purchasing Motives (의복태도와 의복구매동기의 관계에 대한 연구)

  • The purposed of this study was to investigate the dimensions of clothing purchasing motives and to examine differences of these dimensions according to the demographic variables, and to examine the relationship between the clothing attitudes and clothing purchasing motives. The subjects selected for the final analysis were 595 adults rainging from 20's to 40's in age. As for the analytic method. Cronbach's $\alpha$, factor analysis, one-way ANOVA, Tukey's multiple range test, frequency and percentage were applied. The conclusions of this study were as follows: 1. The clothing purchasing motive was classified into five dimensions: advertising and promotion, finding of clothing meeting one's own taste, extra income, practical purchasing needs and impulse purchase. And the dimensions of clothing purchasing motive were significantly different according to monthly expenditure on clothing, sex and educational level. 2. The relationship between the clothing attitudes dimensions and clothing purchasing motive dimensions were significant.

A Study on the effect of perceived online shopping mall attribute on trust, commitment, purchasing intention

  • This study presents perceived reputation, perceived quality, perceived assurance of online shopping malls as the attributes factors of online shopping malls and identifies the impact of perceived online shopping mall attributes on trust, involvement and purchasing intention. Also we analyzed whether trust on online shopping mall affect involvement and purchasing intention, and whether involvement on online shopping mall affect purchasing intention. The results show that perceived quality, perceived assurance of online shopping malls influence positively on trust, but perceived reputation does not. Second, perceived reputation, perceived quality, perceived assurance of online shopping malls doesn't influence positively on involvement. Third, perceived quality, perceived assurance of online shopping malls influence positively on purchasing intention, but perceived reputation does not. Forth, trust on online shopping mall influence positively on involvement and purchasing intention. Fifth, involvement on online shopping mall influence positively on purchasing intention.

A Study on the Specific Character of the High Income Woman-brackets Manner in Purchasing the Clothes (고소득층 여성의 의복구매행동특성에 관한 연구)

  • This study gives information for the enterprise to map out a positive marketing strategy and facilitate a new product development by researching and analyzing the specific character of the high income woman-brackets. In order to do that, based upon the materials of the National Statistical office, I made a selection of the high income brackets, subdividing their scholastic ability into four serfs. The subject of the study was the women from twenties to sixties among customers of a high class dress shop in Taejeon. I made up 600 questionnaires for them. using 441 of these for the statistical analysis and making available the correlation analysis, the primary factor analysis, and $X^2$-test. This study is classified into the type of women customers purchasing clothes who are the high-income brackets. Intended to study a special quality of purchasing according to income. 1. The purchasing manner of the high-income brackets customers is exposed the luxurious vain purchasing manner, the rational reasonable manner, and idiosyncrasy individual manner in order 1) The consumer of the high-income brackets in general prefer to a high class clothes. In the contrast, low-income brackets prefer to rational reasonable consumption in spending money on clothes. 2) The favorite consumption manner of the high income brackets is the luxurious vain purchasing manner. This consumption values the more symbolic means the things show than owing the goods. 2. The higher standard of education and younger tends to be high in the luxurious, vain purchasing. 3. The unreasonable purchasing show an high irrelation at the impulse buying arid self-satisfaction. 4. Self-satisfaction shows the highest interrelation than any other variations in the concern of clothes. 5. The symbolic images which exerts an influence upon purchasing manner are the notable elements of constituting as growing older. 6. The high standard of education prefers to the rational resonable purchasing, but on the other hand shows a high rate at the unreasonable individual purchasing manner.

The Determinant Factor on the Cautious Purchasing and Satisfaction of Online Shopping Mall: Moderating Effect of Emotional Intelligence (온라인 쇼핑몰 신중구매의 영향과 결정요인 : 정서지능의 조절효과를 중심으로)

  • Purpose The purpose of this study is to identify the related factors of cautious purchasing for buyers who have purchased products in online shopping mall. First, we focus on the prevention focus, which is one of the personal characteristics, that affect the cautious purchase, and analyze the satisfaction of purchasing according to cautious purchase. Furthermore, we investigate the influence of emotional intelligence (self-awareness and social-awareness) on the process of cautious purchasing and satisfaction. Design/methodology/approach In order to verify the hypotheses, this study surveyed individuals who purchase products on the Internet for about 2 months from August to September 2016. A total of 250 copies were returned, but 20 questionnaires that were incomplete were excluded. Thus, the final 230 samples were analyzed. Structural equation modeling (SEM) was used for hypothesis testing. Findings The result of this study showed that the cautious purchasing is stronger for the buyers with the prevention focus. And consumers who purchase carefully have higher satisfaction after purchasing. In addition, emotional intelligence in the cautious purchasing process has a positive moderating effect. Based on the results of this study, the theoretical and practical implications are suggested.

Internet Utilization of Purchasing Management in Food Service Industry -Based on the buyers' perceptions- (단체급식업체 구매관리의 인터넷 활용에 관한 연구 -구매업무 담당자의 인지도를 중심으로-)

  • The purposes of this research were to; (a) identify useful information source; (b) assess the usefulness of the Internet as an information source; and (c) assess the degree of Internet utilization for purchasing process in food service industry. The results were as follows; 1. 'personal experience and colleague recommendation' was perceived as the most useful information source, whereas the most frequently used source was 'Internet web site' for real purchasing practice. 2. the most frequently used purchasing activity through Internet was 'online ordering', followed by 'gathering product/component information', however e-marketplace or Internet bidding were less performed by Internet. 3. acquisition of real time information, rapidity, accuracy, and increasing effectiveness of purchasing process were reported the advantages of Internet utilization. 4. respondents somewhat or strongly agreed with the importance of Internet in terms of present and future purchasing management. The results of the research suggest that Internet should be able to improve purchasing process and enhance buyer-supplier relationship directly or indirectly, therefore food service industry should consider making attempt to new purchasing systems through Internet for strategic sourcing and effective procurement management.
