  • Recently in the health service the globalization and opening their market to foreigners are realized in Korea. So, it becomes necessary for the health service institutes to execute their management to focus on service quality to satisfy their customers. We examined the customer orientation of the individual health professional rather than the market orientation concept based on the health institute. For the market orientation of the health institute should require the individual health professional worked there. The hypotheses for the effect of the role conflict, ambiguity, and job satisfaction of the health professionals to their customer orientation were established based on the literature review and previous researches and tested to the 250 health professionals such as health technician, nurse, radiologist, and management clerk in D hospital located in Busan, in summer 2008. First, the hypothesis 'The role conflict between the individual health professionals might effect to the customer orientation' was rejected. Second, the hypothesis 'The role ambiguity of the individual health professional might effect to the customer orientation' was accepted. Third, the hypothesis 'The satisfaction of the individual health professional might effect to the customer orientation' was rejected. and the multiple regression analysis was taken with the dependent variables as each construct of customer orientation-responsiveness, empathy, tangibility, and reliability, and independent variables as role conflict, role ambiguity, and job satisfaction. With these analysis, we found also the role ambiguity effected to the customer orientation.

  • Low energy x-rays that occur in the low tube voltage radiography of general radiography are absorbed strongly in the body and do not aid image quality enhancement. This study maintains titer in general radiography while using tube current that are proportional to density and the tube voltage 15% principle according to density to reduce patient exposure doses, and area doses and entrance surface doses were measured to compare patient exposure doses. In hand, knee, abdomen, and skull radiography, kVp was increased to 115% and mAs was decreased to 50% and kVp was decreased to 85% while mAs was increased to 200% and area doses and entrance surface doses were measured to compare relative doses. Also, 5 places in each image were set, density was measured, and Kruskal wallis H test was conducted to observe significance probabilities between groups. To fix density, kVp was increased to 115% and mAs was decreased to 50% and after measurements of mean area doses and entrance surface doses were made by each part, each decreased to 58.68% and 59.85% when standard doses were set to 100%, and each increased to 147.28% and 159.9% when kVp was decreased to 85% and mAs was increased to 200%. Comparisons of density changes showed that hand, knee, abdomen, and skull radiography all displayed significance probabilities>0.05, showing no changes in concentration. Radiography that increases kVp and lowers mAs through reasonable calculations within ranges that don't affect resolution and contrast seems to be a simple way to decrease patient exposure doses.

  • Panorama of dental radiation generators can observe the wide anatomical structures of oral and maxillofacial areas but there can be distortion of lengths, angles, or shapes. CBCT can diagnose 3D images and get the ones whose errors by superposition and interference are remarkably smaller between anatomical structures. But the quality of the images by movement of subjects can be lowered as it takes long to diagnose them. And if there are impermeable radiation objects like metal in mouths, impermeable radiation lines can radially appear with the objects as center. This study tries to analyze accuracy of panorama and CBCT and get useful anatomical information in dental treatment by comparing the length of wisdom teeth which were measured by Panorama and CBCT with the teeth which were actually extracted and analyzing distortion of the teeth. The test result could be found that Panorama is expanded by average 7.3% as the errors of Panorama and Digital Vernier Caliper range from 110.7% to 103.9%. The length of wisdom teeth which were measured in CBCT and Digital Vernier Caliper could be found that the error range is 1.3%. And the length of wisdom teeth which were measured in Panorama and Digital Vernier Caliper has found that the error range shows 7.3%. So it could be found that the images of CBCT is about 6% more exact than those of Panorama. It could be found that CBCT shows the more exact images than those of Panorama. But because the examination expenses of CBCT are higher than those of Panorama and exposure dose of CBCT is much more than that of Panorama, it is thought to find proper ways in examination.

  • U.S. nuclear power plant decommissioning guidelines(MARSSIM and MARLAP) are recommends to use DQOs when planning and conducting site surveys. The DQOs which is constructed in the site survey planning stage provide a way to make the best use of data. It helps we can get the important information and data to make decisions as well. From fifth to seventh steps of DQOs are the process of designing a site survey by using the collected data and information in the previous step to make reasonable and reliable decisions. The gray region that is set up during this process is defined as the range of concentrations where the consequences of type II decision errors are relatively small. The gray region can be set using DCGL and the average concentration of radionuclide in the sample collected at the survey unit. By setting up the gray region, site survey plan can be made most resource-efficient and the consequences on decision errors can be minimized. In this study, we set up the gray region by using the DCGL of Kori-1 which was derived from the previous research. In addition, we proposed a method to assess the concentration of radionuclide in samples for making decisions correctly.

  • National groundwater monitoring stations have been managed throughout the country by Korea Water Resources Corporation (KOWACO) in order to monitor variations in quantity and quality of groundwater resources. A multi-sensor installed in each monitoring station well measures groundwater level, water temperature and electrical conductivity every six hours and the logged data are automatically transmitted to a host computer in KOWACO. Meanwhile despite regular station inspection and replacement of deteriorate or broken devices, abnormal values or outliers often occur due to intrinsic limitations of automatic monitoring and transmission. Thus prompt recognition and measures to these values are essentially required to reduce disturbance and missing period of the data. In this study, time and frequency of outlier occurrence were analyzed for the water level data obtained from national groundwater monitoring stations within the Han river basin in 2000. The analysis results indicated that the most prominent patterns of the outliers were rapid decline for water level, no variation for temperature and steep decline for electrical conductivity. This study provided a sample criterion for determining the outlier for each parameter.

  • In this study, the Charpy impact test along with metallurgical observation was conducted to evaluate low temperature impact toughness of structural steel welds with different welding processes to find out the optimal welding process to guarantee the required impact toughness at low temperatures. The welding processes employed are shield metal arc welding (SMAW) and flux cored arc welding(FCAW), which are commonly used welding methods in construction. The Charpy impact test is a commercial quality control test for steels and other alloys used in the construction of metallic structures. The test allows the material properties for service conditions to be determined experimentally in a simple manner with a very low cost. To investigate the impact toughness at low temperatures of the steel welds, specimens were extracted from the weld metal and the heat affected zone. Standard V-notch Charpy specimens were prepared and tested under dynamic loading condition. The low temperature impact performance was evaluated based on the correlation between the absorbed energy and the microstructure. Analysis of the results showed that the optimal welding process to ensure the higher low temperature impact toughness of the HAZ and the weld metal is SMAW process using the welding consumable for steels targeted to low temperature use.

  • This study was carried out to find out favorable soil conditions to give good quality of Scutellaria baicalensis George for Korean medicine. The samples were collected from the 7 fields of An-dong gun and Eui-sung gun. The plants were grown under soils of different physicochemical properties and the available constituents from their roots were analyzed by HPLC. The average N, P, K contents in roots was determined to be 0.28-1.26%, 0.17-0.46% and 1.00-1.49%, respectively. The baicalin contents of root was determined to be 11.41-14.76% (An-dong gun) and 13.67-16.31% (Eui-sung gun). The contents of N, P in root were negatively correlated with the contents of exchangeable cations (K, Ca, Mg), clay and organic matter in soil, whereas it was not significant with the contents of total nitrogen and available phosphorus of surface soils. The baicalin contents was positively correlated with the exchangeable potassium contents in soil, but negatively correlated with nitrogen and phosphorus contents in the root of Scutellaria baicalensis George.

  • Comparative analyses of canopy structure were conducted using newly bred high yield rice cultivars (IR 667-Suwon 213 and 214) and commercial varieties (Jinhung and Paldal) under the field condition. "Canopy score" as criteria of canopy structure was proposed. The results were summerized as follows: 1. IR667 line (IR8${\times}$Taichung Native 1${\times}$Yukara) showed lower canopy height, greater tiller openness, smaller leaf openness and leaf length ratio (flag leaf/3rd), shorter 4th and 5th internode length, greater diameter of 5th internode, consequently greater leaf area index, panicle weight and leaf weight ratio (leaf/leaf sheathculm) as merits, and greater leaf width, smaller leaf number(number of leaf/$m^2$)and specific leaf area($cm^2/g$) and faster destruction of canopy by senescence as demerits comparing with commercial varieties. 2. IR 667 line showed much higher "Canopy score", subsequently higher yield. 3. The quality of individual leaf was better in the commercial varieties indicating that the best combination for the better yield would be the leaf of commercial varieties with the structure of IR667 line.

  • As a silicate source to rice, a coal ash (50%) was mixed with a phosphogypsum (hereafter, gypsum, 50%). Field experiments were carried out to evaluate rice (Oryza sativa) productivity in silt loam (SiL) to which 0, 20, 40 and $60Mg\;ha^{-1}$ of the mixture were added. The mixture increased rice yield and showed the highest yields following the addition of $30Mg\;ha^{-1}$. The mixture did not result in an excessive uptake of heavy metals by the rice grain. The mixture improved available silicate and phosphate and exchangeable calcium contents in soil. The available boron content in soil increased with the mixture application levels up to $1.42mg\;kg^{-1}$ following the application of $60Mg\;ha^{-1}$, but boron toxicity in rice was not found. It is concluded that the coal ash and gypsum mixture could be a good alternative to inorganic soil amendments to restore the soil nutrient balance in paddy soil.

  • Mulberry leaves contain many natural components and are considerable resource for natural antiokidants. The antioxidant effect of 'Cheongilppong' collected from Chuncheon, Suwon and Wanju regions were investigated with minilum L-100 device and ARAW-KIT (anti-radical ability of water-soluble substance), in comparison to the ascorbic acid. The measurement parts were mulberry leaves collected from different areas and some kinds of mulberry branches. We obtained that even if samples were same variety, antioxidant capacity of those showed different results according to collected regions. Also, antioxidant effect of mulberry leaves were higher than that of branches. The order of antioxidant effect in Spring was Chuncheon > Suwon > Wanju. The antioxidant effect of mulberry leaves collected from Chuncheon, Suwon and Wanju regions of just before the coloration stage with anthocyanin in fruits were 3627.5 nmol, 2620.0 nmol 1360.7 nmol (ascorbic acid equivalents), respectively. In Autumn, the antioxidant effect and hardness quality of mulberry leaves were increased gradually until just before fallen leaves stage. Therefore, we concluded that being the most suitable period for collecting mulberry leaves as a antiokidant resource is from the latter part of May to the first ten days of June.
