The machine log files recorded by a scanning control unit in proton beam therapy system have been studied to be used as a quality assurance method of scanning beam deliveries. The accuracy of the data in the log files have been evaluated with a standard calibration beam scan pattern. The proton beam scan pattern has been delivered on a gafchromic film located at the isocenter plane of the proton beam treatment nozzle and found to agree within ${\pm}1.0mm$. The machine data accumulated for the scanning beam proton therapy of five different cases have been analyzed using a statistical method to estimate any systematic error in the data. The high-precision scanning beam log files in line scanning proton therapy system have been validated to be used for off-line scanning beam monitoring and thus as a patient-specific quality assurance method. The use of the machine log files for patient-specific quality assurance would simplify the quality assurance procedure with accurate scanning beam data.

This study investigates faculty support for quality assurance in online education, and offers suggestions for its improvement based on feedback from Instructional Design (ID) staff working at a public university in the U.S. Qualitative research using semi-structured interviews was conducted with seven ID staff in order to examine their perceptions regarding faculty support related to quality assurance in online education. The results of the data analysis indicate that four types of faculty support-quality assurance reviews using Quality Matter (QM) standards, templates, individual consultations with ongoing support, and monitoring-were offered for faculty. Faculty support for quality assurance in online education could be improved by developing specific quality assurance standards, recruiting external experts, examining learning effects, developing a quality assurance management system, and sharing documents among ID staff. This study highlights the necessity of quality assurance in online education and provides cases of faculty support in a real higher education setting.

Background : There have been many studies and efforts about quality management in health services, but there were not founded quality assessment on social services. This study was designed for understood level of quality on social service, identified for correlation factors of quality assessment on social services in general and teaching hospitals in Korea. Methods : The subjects of this survey were 80 leaders of social service units. The survey data from each subjects were measured to evaluate level of quality that service provider perceived of sample hospitals. Social worker's attitude of quality assurance activities, perception of quality assurance system in that hospitals were measured. Under the method of one-way ANOVA, t-test and correlation, associated factors of quality assessment in social work service was analyzed. Results : The major findings were as following ; First, the level of quality perceived showed less score, especially the lowest was the score of quality of outcome. Second, social worker's attitude of quality assurance activities showed high score, but quality assurance system of hospitals showed less score. Third, the level of quality assurance system of hospitals, social worker's attitudes of quality assurance activities. Conclusion : The quality of social work service correlated positive hospitals's quality assurance system, social worker's attitudes of quality assurance activities. Therefore, to assure the proper level of quality, qualified for hospitals system of quality assurance, and needed to a educational program for enhanced social workers's attitudes in quality assurance activities.

Nowadays most companies are required to acquire the quality assurance system for their survival. It is essential to improvement company's competitive power that Certification of Quality Assurance System but there are many problems. To analysis the effects of ISO 9000 series/QS-9000 QA systems to the Domestic Company Quality Improvement as well as quality consciousness, data has been surveyed form quality assurance engineers who have work on certification activities. The data is analyzed using relevant tabulations of five scale or paired t test method in order to compare level of quality management of pre-certification with that of post-certification. It is analyzed in two parts which are qualitative effects and quality maturity grid. Also, to analysis for the bottlenecks and problems the data is analyzed using frequency analysis method.

It has been well known that organic industrial solvents such as toluene, xylene and styrene are environmental health hazards causing occupational diseases to workers. The detection of biological metabolites of toluene, xylene and styrene in blood, urine, breast milk, saliva, and hair of workers exposed to these organic industrial solvents is a useful tool for assessing the amount of organic industrial solvents. Therefor, the external analytical quality assurance program is extremely important work for increasing reliability of the data analyzed in the special health examination laboratory. We evaluated the results of analysis by Korean analytical quality assurance program from the second half 2007 to the first half 2009. The number of participants for analytical quality assurance program for both mandatory item and one of optional items, hippuric acid and methylhippuric acid were 116-122, 116-122 and 105-115 laboratories, respectively. The proficient rate of the special health examination laboratories analyzed both mandatory item and optional item, hippuric acid and methylhippuric acid were 92-98%, 92-98% and 96-98%, respectively. We can conclude from our data that the analytical quality assurance program is a essential tool for improvement of reliability on the data analyzed in the special health examination laboratories.

This study evaluated the process of software quality assurance about the initial product in a weapon system. The software quality assurance of the initial product was insufficient before this study. Therefore, the process of the software quality assurance about the initial product in a weapon system is suggested. The process has three parts. First, the completeness of computer files, such as source code and execute files, were checked. Second, the suitability of the software technical data was checked. Finally, the connectivity of software technical data and the Korean defense specification were assessed. Overall, there is a need to toughen the software quality assurance in the research and development step and achieve early stabilization of mass production by preventing the problems that prevent the production of a product due to the insufficient software technical data.

Purpose: The objective of this study was to identify relationships among the perception of quality assurance and national hospital evaluation program and nursing performance of hospital nurses. Method: The participants were 401 nurses who worked at the A medical center. The data were collected from 25 April to 9 May. 2008. The cross-sectional descriptive survey was done using a structured questionnaire. Result: The perception of the quality assurance correlated significantly with nursing performance. Also, the perception of national hospital program correlated significantly with nursing performance. However, the scores of perception of quality assurance & national evaluation program of hospital nurses is relatively low. Conclusions: These results means positive perception of quality assurance of nurses can produce good nursing performance. It suggests that nurses need more education and training for quality assurance. And the incentives will be needed to enhance the perception of quality assurance. Moreover, the detailed nursing performance indicators should be developed to measure the quality of nursing performance properly.

As software projects become larger and more complex, we need to take a more systematic approach to quality assurance. One plausible approach is the use of SQA (software quality assurance) methodology. Since this SQA methodology was not available, our study presents a SQA methodology. This methodology has a repository in which a set of quality assurance tasks with their related techniques and deliverables is defined and from which one can select only appropriate tasks based upon characteristics of project. This study further suggests a rule-based approach for supporting task selection process.

Flight data from operational quality assurance programs plays a significant role in identifying factors as one of the key data in the development of proactive and preventive aviation safety management technologies based on data. The list of events in the flight quality assurance program recommended by the FAA differs from the list set and managed by airlines themselves and is based on the frequency of occurrence rather than the severity of individual events. In this work, we compared the list of FOQA events presented by the FAA with the list of some domestic airlines. We also investigate the severity priorities of events for airline captains and conduct research on how to improve the operation of the operational quality assurance program.

We develop guidelines for the quality assurance of radiation treatment planning systems (TPS) by comparing and reviewing recommendations from major countries and organizations, as well as by analyzing the AAPM, ESTRO, and IAEA TPS quality assurance guidelines. We establish quality assurance items for acceptance testing, commissioning, periodic testing, system management, and security, and propose methods to perform each item within acceptable standards. Acceptance includes tests of hardware and network environments, data transmission, software, and benchmarking as specified by the system supplier, and apply the IAEA classification criteria. Commissioning includes dosimetric and non-dosimetric items for assessing TPS performance by applying the AAPM classification criteria and the latest technical items from the IAEA. Periodic quality assurance tests include daily, weekly, monthly, yearly, and occasional items by applying the AAPM classification criteria. System management and security items include the state and network connectivity of TPS, periodic data backup, and data access security. The guidelines for TPS quality assurance proposed in this study will help to improve the safety and quality of radiotherapy by preventing incidents related to radiotherapy.
