LDO Regulator with Pseudo Resistor Using Feedback Network (피드백 네트워크를 사용한 Pseudo 저항을 갖는 LDO 레귤레이터)

  • In this paper, we propose LDO regulator to operate using Pseude resistor instead of widely used Feedback resistor in conventional LDO regulator. Proposed Feedback network using Pseudo resistor has smaller area than the conventional feedback resistor and plays the role of an conventional LDO regulator. Thus, it has been proposed to compensate for the disadvantages of LDO regulator with noise. Although proposed LDO regulator compared with conventional LDO regulator has similar performance, this LDO regulator provide higher efficiency by reducing the overshoot and decreasing the area. This circuit was designed to using a Dongbu Hitek 0.18um CMOS process.

  • A SCALDO(Supercapacitor Assisted LDO) regulator is a newly studied regulator to improve the efficiency of a LDO regulator. Commonly a LDO regulator has very low efficiency and a SCALDO regulator can improve it considerably because this regulator can reuse meaninglessly wasted energy at the LDO regulator by a supercapacitor witch is attached between input and a LDO regulator. However this regulator has several challenges because it is a being studied regulator. One of them is an overvoltage issue. At initial operating of this regulator, a supercapacior is totally discharged and input is connected with a supercapacitor and a LDO regulator in series. Thus, input voltage is enabled to a LDO regulator and this input voltage is a significant value to a LDO regulator because commonly input voltage is bigger than twice output voltage. In this paper, to solve this overvoltage issue, we proposed a new SCALDO regulator that has a pre-charger for charging a supercapacitor before starting operation. And we found that a proposed SCALDO regulator can properly reduce overvoltage of a LDO regulator through experiments.

  • This paper studies the current regulator of LED Backlighting system for LCD. The proposed regulator and a typical regulator are introduced. To find out the characteristics of two regulators, Prototype samples of LED Backlighting system are made. Both the proposed regulator and a typical regulator are compared with electrical, thermal and optical characteristics each viewpoint.

  • Variable displacement axial piston pumps are widely used for raising the energy level of the fluid in hydraulic systems. And the regulator is the device which regulates the discharge flow of the piston pump by controlling the swivel angle. The regulator receives the hydraulic pilot pressure and controls the pump output flow depending on the machine load and engine speed. This work deals with constant power control (horsepower control) in the design of a regulator by using a bent-axis type piston pump. In order to effectively use engine power, we must keep the horsepower from the engine to the pump constant. Therefore the regulator operates the constant power control. As a result, optimum power usage is obtained by accurately following the power hyperbola. This study focused on developing a simulation model of a regulator. First, the governing equations of the regulator are derived, and analysis is performed by computer simulation, which can identify significant parameters of regulator. As a result, the variation of the swivel angle, flow rate, hyperbolic curve, inner leakage and responsibility are simulated, and significant parameters of a regulator are identified.

  • In this paper, we designed sandwich type pressure regulator for air pressure control system. As a result of research, we obtained several important conclusions. First, we decided theory of poppet valve and relief valve which are used in sandwich type pressure regulator, and then designed prototype of pressure regulator. Second, we organized circuit diagram of dual pressure regulator of air pressure control system.

  • Linear regulator for generating various voltages in satellite electronics is implemented with radiation harden regulator chips or simple linear regulator circuits. For implementing linear regulator circuits, the detail design can be various. But the worst case analysis method and interesting analysis items for the linear regulator circuits can be generalized. So this paper describes and summarizes the general worst case analysis method and interesting analysis items for the conventional linear regulator circuits.

  • This voltage Regulator, which regulates voltage in different way from the conventional regulator, is constructed by circular-plate core type stators and controllers (are similar to rotor of conventional). The principle of this Voltage Regulator is based on the rotating magnetic field theory including peculiar homopolar and heteropolar concept. Comparing with the conventional induction regulator, this regulator need not to have short windings and can cancel armature reaction. Moreover, it is able to decrease the machine noise and control the phase of it freely. And it's efficiency can become more than 95% which almost the same as that of transformer's. By increasing numbers of cores of the same size, the output power can be increased, the insulation can be decreased and high Voltage can directly be connected because applied voltage is distributed to each core. This Voltage Regulator can be also used as a current regulator, a starter a induction motor and a phase transformer etc.

  • A new zero-current switching LLC resonant post-regulator for multi-output power system is proposed in this paper. A conventional LLC resonant converter employs extra non-isolated DC/DC converters to obtain tight-regulated multi-slave output voltages. Therefore, it has several serious problems such as a poor efficiency and high cost of production. The proposed post-regulator features low voltage and current stress across the output rectifier diodes and power switches. Moreover, the proposed post-regulator requires only one power switch instead of the bulky and expensive non-isolated DC/DC converter. Therefore, it features a simple structure and lower cost. Especially, since the proposed post-regulator can ensure the ZCS of all power switches, it has very desirable advantages such as more improved EMI characteristics and reduced switching losses. Finally, to confirm the operation, validity, and features of the proposed circuit, experimental results from a proposed zero-current LLC resonant post-regulator are presented.

  • This paper shows the Development of In-tank pressure regulator and Solenoid Valve used in FCV(Fuel Cell Vehicle). We have developed new type of Regulator and Solenoid through analysis of the structure and characteristics of component of FCS(Fuel Cell System) from the advanced technology. Now it is possible to localize the component by making use of the development of Regulator and Solenoid made by us. Regulator and Solenoid is a equipment to control hydrogen pressure supplied into a stack. Therefore, outlet pressure, a flow of fluid and temperature are important parameters according to a inlet pressure. And leak test, endurance test and burst test should be done to guarantee the performance and safety of Regulator and Solenoid used in the fuel of high pressure. Also, Hydrogen friendly materials are applied to inner parts of the Regulator, Solenoid and weight reduction is done to cost saving in part not related to performance. As a result, we have proven the good performance and reliability in endurance of Regulator, Solenoid and will make an development in performance as well as durability to ensure industrialization.

  • In this paper, an active replica Low-dropout(LDO) regulator with DC voltage matching circuit is presented. In order to match the voltage between replica and output of regulator, DC voltage matching circuit is designed. The active replica low dropout regulator has higher Power Supply Rejection(PSR) than that of conventional regulator. The designed DC voltage matching circuit can reduce the drawback that may be occurred in replica regulator. And using fully active element in regulator can reduce the chip area and heat noise with resistor. As results of HSPICE simulation with 0.35um CMOS parameter, the designed active replica LDO regulator achieves Power Supply Rejection, -28@10Hz better than -17@10Hz of conventional replica regulator without DC matching circuit. And the output voltage is 3V.
