  • This paper discusses a multi-dimensional analysis for Customer Relationship Management (CRM). For this, We propose a decision-making methodology which employs three analysis models. The first model is a three-dimension positioning map to derive a strategy which achieves the Process Value Line (PVL). The second model is the web-shape analysis model to visibly understand the individual based on the customer CSI (Customer Satisfactory Index) data. The third model which supports the web-shape analysis model, is the relative satisfactory analysis model. It considers a satisfaction level after purchasing against before purchasing. Then we perform overall analysis based on the three analysis models to provide marketing strategies to decision makers.

  • The application of PIV to the studies of fluid-machines, especially focused on turbo-machinery is reviewed by scrutinizing the previous investigation. Owing to the inevitable high-speed analysis of turbo-machinery consisting of rotating impellers, the importance of optical setups to cope with illumination problem is frequently mentioned as main ingredient affecting the PIV performance. And the acquisition of the relative velocity and absolute velocity is determined mainly by the optical recording conditions. A few studies cast satisfactory extension of the PIV data to quantitative pressure estimation and related noise assessment.

  • A series of poly(1,4-phenylene terephthalates) with pendant NLO chromophores was prepared by the solution polycondensation of 2,5-NLO chromophore substituted terephthalic acid with hydroquinone. The polymers obtained gave satisfactory NMR and elemental analysis results when taking into account their expected structures and the inherent viscosity value proved the polymeric character of all polymers. DSC, optical polarizing microscopy and WAXS studies revealed that none of these polymers exhibited liquid crystalline mesophases. Preliminary results on NLO properties of these polymers showed a surprisingly large second harmonic signal relative to a Y-cut quartz plate.

  • The effect of the number of nodes on the heat loss from a rectangular fin for a finite difference method is studied. There are two ways for selecting nodes for the upper half fin in this finite difference method. In the first place, all the ${\Delta}x$ are the same and all the ${\Delta}y$ are the same for the entire upper half fin. Incremental length of x (i.e. ${\Delta}x$) is divided by two near the fin tip while all the ${\Delta}y$ are the same for another way. The results show that 1) About 30 nodes are enough to obtain the satisfactory exact analysis (relative error < 5%) on the heat loss for a given range of Biot number in case of short fin (i.e. $L{\leq}2$). 2) Under usual circumstances (Bi<0.1), the relative error of heat loss between using 30 nodes and 90 nodes is within 4% for given range of non-dimensional fin length. 3) The relative error of the calculated heat loss (the number of node=90) as compared to the expected exact heat loss is less then 1.5% for Bi=0.1 and L=10 while that is over 13% for Bi=1.0 and L=10.

  • For satisfactory greenhouse culture, environmental factors must be kept in proper conditions. Therefore, it is important to know relations between environmental conditions and greenhouse systems. In this study, the environment variations and distributions in different types of greenhouses were measured and analyzed. The elements of environment analyzed were temperature , relative humidity, illumination, carbon dioxide and wind velocity. The analyzed greenhouse types were three different types. One of them, A type, was propagation model type by government and the other one, B type, was multiple continuous arches type which was made by farmers himself. The last one, C type, was single arch type which has no environment control system without manual temperature keeping method. The results of this study can be used for reasonable greenhouse environments managements and control.

  • The purpose of this study is concerned with suggesting a new a, pp.oach to evaluating the overall product quality in the sense of the relative efficiency of products, whose quality is measured with 8-dimensional attributes, suggested by Garvin. The attributes included 8 quality measures, that is, performance, features, reliability, conformance, durability, serviceabilit, aesthetics, and perceived quality. This study, also, introduced DEA(Data Envelopment Analysis) as an evaluation tool to tackle the problem of how to measure one product against another when each product can be measured along a number of dimensions, and given that there exists no a priori satisfactory weighting scheme to combine these dimensions into an overall rating for each products. In order to a, pp.y the DEA to evaluating the products, we must define two concepts, such as DMU(Decision Making Units) and input-output relationship. Finally, the suggested method in this study was validated through a case study of the electric jar, and this DEA a, pp.oach can be used in evaluating the other products with multi-attrribute quality.

  • A method for the determination of dissolved species of Cd, Co, Cu, Ni, Pb and Zn in sea water by flame atomic absorption spectrophotometry (AAS) is described. Prior to analysis by AAS, these elements are concentrated by coprecipitation with iron pyrrolidinedithiocarbamate at pH 3 because of matrix effects and their low concentration levels in sea water. The detection limits are 0.01, 0.04, 0.02, 0.05, 0.08, and 0.03$\mu\textrm{g}$/l, and the relative standard deviations are 1.0, 2.4, 1.3, 2.9, 2.0 and 2.9% for Cd, Co, Cu, Ni, Pb and Zn, respectively. The method is shown to be satisfactory in terms of recovery and precision for the determination of these metals in sea water.

  • Background and Objectives : The managements of unilateral vocal cord palsy include type Ⅰ thyroplasty and arytenoid adduction. One type operation has been shown no satisfactory effect. We evaluated preoperative and postoperative speech of unilateral vocal cord palsy patients who received combined operation of type Ⅰ thyroplasty and arytenoid adduction to help for the management plan of unilateral vocal cord palsy patients. Materials and Methods : We reviewed the postoperative results and complication of 17 surgically treated patients of unilateral vocal cord palsy at Severance hospital from Nov. 1996 to Dec. 1997 retrospectively. They were received combined operation of type Ⅰ thyroplasty and arytenoid adduction. Their pre and post-operative speech were analyzed with MDVP(Multi-Dimension-Voice analysis Program) of CSL(Computerized Speech Lab). Results : After the operation, MPT(Maximal Phonation Time) was increased and MFR(Mean Flow Rate) was decreased in all patients. NHR(Noise to Harmonic Ratio) and VTI(Voice Turbulence Index) were decreased : liner, RAP(Relative Average Perturbation Quotient), PPQ(Pitch Period Perturbation Quotient), sPPQ(smoothed Pitch Period Perturbation Quotient), vFo(fundamental frequency Variation) were decreased : Shimmer, APQ(Amplitude Perturbation Quotient), sAPQ(Smoothed Amplitude Perturbation Qoutient), vAm(Peak Amplitude Variation) were decreased in all the patients. Conclusions : In unilateral vocal cord pals), combined operation of type Ⅰ thyroplasty and arytenoid adduction could obtain satisfactory postoperative voice. MDVP has many parameters and good method for evaluation of voice surgery.

  • This paper presents a theoretical and computational approach to solve inelastic structures subjected to overloads. Current practice in structural design is based on elastic analysis followed by limit strength design. Whereas this approach typically results in safe strength design, it does not always guarantee satisfactory performance at the service level because the internal stiffness distribution of the structure changes from the service to the ultimate strength state. A significant variation of relative stiffnesses between the two states may result in unwanted cracking at the service level with expensive repairs, while, under certain circumstances, early failure may occur due to unexpected internal moment reversals. To address these concerns, a new inelastic model is presented here that is based on the nonlinear material response and the interaction relation between axial forces and bending moments of a beam-column element. The model is simple, reasonably accurate, and computationally efficient. It is easy to implement in standard structural analysis codes, and avoids the complexities of expensive alternative analyses based on 2D and 3D finite-element computations using solid elements.
