In autonomous-heteronomous, it is thought that with more allowance more responsible for actions and autonomous actions such as respecting personal opinions. Secondly, all 5 sub-groups of the self-esteem level for adolescent consumers showed average of approximately 3 points, a normal standard self-esteem When the overall school score is high self-esteem was also given high points. It can be thought that the school scores provide positive or negative effect on pride, future and surrounding situations. When psychological home environment was deemed positive in the relationship between psychological home environment and self-esteem, evaluation and the faith how other people recognize one were also thought positively. Thirdly, 4 subgroups of the consuming behavior for adolescent consumers had under 3 points for trend pursuit, showing a less severe trend pursuit by adolescents then expected. Consumer behavior for different psychological home environment and self-esteem showed that consumers selected a utility, while trendy and unique consumer behavior was found with middle level of open-closeness when a sense of accomplishment was significant among the psychological home environment.

Self-image is the descriptive side of self-concept and is composed of the real self-image and the ideal self-image. Self-evaluation is the appraisable side self-concept and is composed of the internal self-concept, external self-concept and total score of self-concept. The purposes of this study were to determine the correlation of self-image and self-evaluation and to identify the effects of self-image and self-evaluation on consumption value. The data were collected from 237 college women residing in Gwangju using a questionnaire to investigate real/ideal self-image, self-evaluation and consumption value. The results were analyzed with factor analysis, Pearson's correlation and multiple regression analysis using statistical program SPSS 10.0. The results of this research were as follows. 1. The real self-image and ideal self-image had a significant correlation with internal self-concept, external self-concept and total score of self-concept. It was ensured that self-image and self-evaluation are one side of the multidimensional self-concept. 2. The real/ideal self-image and internal/external self-evaluation had a significant influence on consumption value. The real self-image and external self-evaluation were the most important variables explaining the consumption value.

  • Due to advances such as photovoltaic power generation and energy storage system, energy self-consumption smart home system in which energy management system is built and energy is generated in house has been actively researched. In particular, due to the instability of the grid after the Fukushima nuclear accident, home system in which generating electricity from photovoltaic, storing and using it in energy storage system was commercialized in Japan. While subsidizing renewable energy projects through a combination of solar and energy storage systems in North America and Europe has expanded home installation. In this paper, we describe development of self-consumption smart home system which is connecting photovoltaic system and energy storage system in home area network and operating it based on real-time price. We implemented automated self-consumption home in which optimizing the use of energy from the power grid with minimal user's intervention.

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the influence of self-esteem and consumer socialization agents on rational consumption patterns of middle school students. Using a convenient sampling method, the data were collected from middle schools in Seoul, Gyeonggi, Chungcheong, Jeonnam, and Gwangju and a total of 412 copies were analyzed. The descriptive statistics, Chronbach's α, t-test, and stepwise regression analysis were performed using the SPSS and the results were as follows. First, rational consumption behavior was 3.18 and self-esteem was 3.54 on a 5-Likert scale. As for consumer socialization agents, parents was the highest at 3.13, followed by school 2.83, mass media 2.78 and peers 2.73. Second, the average comparison of rational consumption behavior and consumer socialization agents by gender showed that there was no gender difference in rational consumption behavior, but in the case of consumer socialization, girls were higher than boys. Third, examining the influence of self-esteem and consumer socialization agents on rational consumption behavior, it was found that the amount of money, mass media, and peers showed an negative effects on rational consumption behavior, while self-esteem and parents showed positive effects on rational consumption behavior. In this regard, middle school students need to have more self-esteem and guide their peers so that their influence can be positive in the home economics class in order to become consumers with rational consumption behavior.

  • The objective of this study was to find variables related to propensity of compensatory consumption of university students in Korean and Japan. Questionnaires research method was conducted and 477 samples were selected. Korean undergraduates have higher propensity of compensatory consumption for negative feelings than Japan undergraduates. Japan undergraduates have higher propensity of compensatory consumption for positive feelings than Korean undergraduates. Korean undergraduates have a tendency to compensate positive and negative feelings by drinking. Japan undergraduates have a tendency to compensate positive feelings by eating out, and to compensate negative feelings by buying books. In compensatory consumption for positive feelings, Korean undergraduates is influenced by group identity, but Japan undergraduates is influenced by reference group. Propensity of compensatory consumption of Korean undergraduates is mostly influenced by consumption tendency, materialism, group identity, and self-concept. Propensity of compensatory consumption of Japan undergraduates is influenced by consumption tendency, materialism, reference group, and their family income. The strongest predictor of propensity of compensatory consumption of Korean and Japan undergraduates is consumption tendency, followed by materialism.

  • The purpose of this study was to develop a standardized scale to measure consumption self-regulation. A preliminary 38-item scale was developed through a literature review. One thousand-twelve consumers responded to an online survey using the preliminary scale. A series of tests, such as test-retest, item-to-total correlation, Cronbach's reliability coefficient and factor analysis, were conducted using the survey data and a final scale comprising 30 items was then constructed. The consumption self-regulation scale consisted of four factors: (1) impulse control, (2) gratification delay, (3)self-reliance, and (4) self-management.
