After the COVID-19 pandemic, a global economic downturn and a recession in the shipping market are expected, it is important for domestic shipping companies to establish appropriate strategy in response to the recession. Accordingly, domestic shipping companies should grow into integrated logistics companies that combine shipping and logistics in the future. And for this purpose, it is necessary to actively promote logistics integration with external shipping and logistics companies. This paper presents the direction of logistics integration for domestic shipping companies to develop as integrated logistics operators with competitiveness in the global shipping market, and presents detailed alternatives. Domestic shipping companies lack the infrastructure such as ships, port terminals, and warehouses, so they have a weak capacity to independently promote logistics integration. At the shipping company level, a logistics integration promotion strategy should be established, and accordingly, logistics infrastructure, service network, and logistics integration operating system should be established. The government should provide tax benefits for logistics integration, financial support for M&As led by domestic shipping companies, a standardized information sharing system, and preparation of educational courses for nurturing digital manpower.

The purpose of this study is to consider the problem on pursuit of logistics strategy by our international shipping company in international shipping business under the said circumstance due to the open international shipping market and to suggest the logistics strategy for the consideration of the logistics competition under new international shipping circumstances. The results of empirical analysis are mentioned as follows; First, it shall be considered to maintain the size of company bigger than a certain capability so that it may obtain the superior competition of logistics. Second, as there are the plus correlations between the competition of logistics and the logistic support, it is necessary to pursuit the upgrade service with using EDI system and making up the complex shipping and integrated logistics system in general. Third, with the rationalization of finance policy and the profitable management of shipping company the ratio of net worth can be raised and it can be achieved to make the sound financial structure as reducing the excessive debt ratio. Fourth, it can be effort continuously to perform the investment for the infrastructure of logistics support & the institutional supplement so that it may achieve to increase the efficiency of logistic support at pier and to reduce the cost of logistic support.

As customer needs for eco-friendly transportation services increase, strategies of major global shipping companies are being established to meet them. Even if logistics costs increase, more and more shippers are choosing shipping companies that fulfill their social responsibilities through decarbonization, and against this backdrop, global shipping companies want to strengthen corporate social responsiveness and reduce shipping environmental costs. In the post-corona era after COVID-19, it is necessary to review the latest Green Shipping management strategies of shipping companies emerging as a new normal for the shipping and logistics industries. This study aims to explore trends in the latest Green Shipping management strategies of global shipping companies pursuing environmental load suppression in the shipping and logistics fields. Among the previous studies, some studies analyzed the green shipping policies of major shipping countries, but they did not deal with the latest policies over time, and few previous study has conducted a fact-finding analysis on the latest Green Shipping management strategies of major shipping companies at the corporate level. This study attempted to analyze securities reports by major domestic and international shipping companies and to present the latest Green Shipping management strategies by shipping companies.

The purpose of this study was to extract and evaluate the factors to improve the quality of shipping logistics platform suggested as an alternative to the stagnant shipping logistics industry. For this, we selected factors through previous research and expert interviews, and conducted surveys on carriers, forwarders, shippers, and platform operators with experience using shipping logistics platforms. As a method of analysis, quality evaluation of the shipping logistics platform was conducted using IPA (Importance-Performance Analysis). The results of this study are as follows "Competitiveness of services provided", "Connectivity with other transportation mode", "Competitiveness of freight", "Transparency of freight", and "Stability of booking space". For the shipping logistics platform to be activated in the future, priority should be given to focusing on these factors. This study has academic significance for establishing configuration function of shipping logistics platform and deriving evaluation factor. Additionally it is an industrial significance for suggesting strategies to improve users' participation in the shipping logistics platform.

This paper analyzed tendency of research of articles published in the Journal of Shipping and Logistics from Vol. 51 to Volume 60. The results of the analysis are as the following: First, the subjects mainly researched in shipping and in logistics are port economics/management and logistics management/operation in the proportion of 35.0% and 13.7%, respectively. Second, university professors carry out research more actively than other research groups. Third, quantitative analyses are more often used than qualitative analyses for research method. Finally, Korean literatures and English literatures are used at the same rate for reference. In conclusion, for the development of the Journal of Shipping and Logistics, the subjects should be diversified, systematic collaboration between educational and industrial circles is required. and cooperation with foreign academies should be continued.

The biggest exchange of international environment of shipping logistics in 21 century should appear ultra-mega container ships on the shipping market. The competitive trend of large size container ship was based on economics of scale among the international shipping business. In the environment, shipping firms consider the integration of freight forwarder and shipper in the international logistics process. The aims of this research analyse a relation between the environment uncertainty and logistics information system(LIS) and the integration and resolve the integration and its impact on logistics performance. The research methodology of this research analyse structural equation modeling on the relation of variables. The results of research are as follows. First, Environmental uncertainty significantly influences the internal integration and the external integration. Second, LIS has an influence on the logistics integration by providing the foundation for LIS utilization in international logistics process. Third, the internal integration significantly influences a logistics performance, which implies that firms should promote interaction and collaboration through internal process integration to achieve logistics performance as the logistical cost and service. But the external integration is not significantly a logistics performance.

The government of Busan Metropolitan City conducted the "Survey on Shipping and Port Logistics Companies in Busan" between May and December, 2000. This was the first comprehensive survey of Busan Port conducted from the perspective of regional & industrial economics. The objective of the survey was to find out the level of influence of the shipping and port logistics industry on the regional economy of Busan, and to obtain base data for use in establishing an actual promotion program. The survey acquired information about human and physical resources, management conditions and consciousness of the industry, In addition, the study analyzed the survey data. The results of the analysis showed a method of creating added value in support of the marketing activities of the companies, and indicated methods of achieving systematic and sustainable promotion. The government of Busan City shall develop an e-Logistics infrastructure which can deliver a synopsis and intelligent information to people and companies in the industry by the end of this year. The information system would be of great help for people who may not be familiar with Busan's port and shipping industry, particularly international shipping companies. This will result in an Increase of trade and exchange in the shipping and port logistics industry, resulting in the generation of increased added value within the near future.

Logistics has become a key element in a shipping firm's overall strategy, now that the concept of logistics has expanded into one that is more comprehensive and integrated. furthermore, the global shipping market is the most competitive market in the world. In this environment, shipping firms are using Logistics Information Systems (LIS), which help them to save time and reduce costs. As such, LIS has become a critical part of Korea's attempts to develop Its national logistics system and industry. In this light, this study attempted to empirically determine the critical elements necessary for effective shipping LIS implementation and to then analyze how these elements are related to actual logistics performance within the shipping industry. The research results show that the sample firms considered the following factors to be most Important to an effective LIS: the support of top management; an efficient and well-structured communication channel; a solid strategic implementation plan; and a high level of information analysis internally. Other factors mentioned as being somewhat significant included MIS organization and human resources, MIS discipline and training, software development capabilities, MIS organizational alignment, database management systems information standardization, competitive advantage, financial support and government support The main problems with current shipping LIS include the expensive cost of systems, lack of standardized working processes, and weak organizational structures.

Nowadays, there is increasing demand for a training program to transfer advanced knowledge of shipping and port logistics with the investments in overseas shipping and port market. A current training program in the field of shipping and port logistics has a short-term achievement, but domestic logistics companies do not utilize the training program to penetrate into the overseas market. Therefore, this paper investigates domestics logistics companies' overseas business activities, and current operation and problems of a training program. In addition, this paper presents how to utilize a training program for domestics shipping and port logistics companies to penetrate successfully into the overseas market.

Purpose : Due to the uncertainty of the global trade environment and the trade downturn, the shipping industry continues to face challenges. This study aims to investigate in-depth analysis of crisis overcoming strategies through case study of a company that is leader in the shipping and logistics industry. Research Desigh and Methodology : In order to conduct an in-depth analysis, a single case analysis was selected as a qualitative study. For this purpose, various secondary sources were used, and indirect interview data were also used. In this study, Maersk was selected because it has grown from a traditional shipping logistics company to a digital platform company. Results: Maersk has transformed itself into a comprehensive, digital logistics platform with several key strategies to respond to the long-term slump in the shipping industry. First, it leveraged Maersk's diversification and portfolio optimization strategy. Second, Maersk is transforming its logistics and transport processes through digitalization and technological innovation. Conclusion: Maersk, which is responding to the long-term recession facing the shipping industry, looked at how it has leveraged its strengths and explored new opportunities through a number of strategies and changes. This study provides insight into a digital logistics platform that will benefit the other companies as well.
