Cleft lip and palate is a congenital deformity which needs a professional and consistent management from the birth and along with the physical growth of patients. The patients with cleft lip and palate can have general speech problems with resonance disorders, voice disorders and articulation disorders after the successful primary surgical management and the physical growth. Speech problems of Cleft lip and palate are characterized hypernasality, nasal air emission, increased nasal air flow, and aberrant speech marks which decrease intelligibility. These speech problems of cleft lip and palate can be treated with the secondary surgical procedure, the application of temporary prosthesis and the effective and well-timed speech therapy. The speech and language problems of cleft lip and palate, the general procedures and schedules of the speech assessment and therapy based on the multidisciplinary approach are introduced for the patients with cleft lip and palate, their family and the other members of the cleft palate treatment team.

In this paper, we investigate various factors that are relevant to design and implementation of an integrated management system for various speech corpora. The purpose of this paper is to manage an integrated management system for various kinds of speech corpora necessary for speech research and speech corpora consrtructed in different data formats. In addition, ways are considered to allow users to search with effect for speech corpora that meet various conditions which they want, and to allow them to add with ease corpora that are constructed newly. In order to achieve this goal, we design a global schema for an integrated management of new additional information without changing old speech corpora, and construct a web-based integrated management system based on the scheme that can be accessed without any temporal and spatial restrictions. And we show the steps by which these can be implemented, and describe related future study topics, examining the system.

Voice interface can not only make daily life more convenient through artificial intelligence speakers but also improve the working environment of the factory. This paper presents a voice-assisted work management system that supports both speech and speaker recognition. This system is able to provide machine control and authorized worker authentication by voice at the same time. We applied two speech recognition methods, Google's Speech application programming interface (API) service, and DeepSpeech speech-to-text engine. For worker identification, the SincNet architecture for speaker recognition was adopted. We implemented a prototype of the work management system that provides voice control with 26 commands and identifies 100 workers by voice. Worker identification using our model was almost perfect, and the command recognition accuracy was 97.0% in Google API after post- processing and 92.0% in our DeepSpeech model.

본 논문에서는 다양한 음성코퍼스의 통합 관리 시스템을 설계하고 구현하기 위한 여러 고려 사항들을 검토 하고자 한다. 본 논문의 목적은 음성 연구에 필요한 다양한 음성 데이터베이스의 종류 그리고 서로 다른 데이터 형태로 구축된 음성코퍼스를 통합적으로 관리하는데 있다. 또한, 부가적으로 사용자가 요청하는 다양한 조건에 맞는 음성 데이터들을 효과적으로 검색 가능하고 새로 구성된 음성코퍼스를 손쉽게 추가 할 수 있도록 고려하였다. 이를 위해 기존의 구축된 음성코퍼스의 수정 없이 새로운 정보를 통합 관리하기 위한 전역 스키마(global schema)를 설계하고, 이를 기반으로 시 공간의 제약 없이 액세스 할 수 있는 웹 기반의 통합 관리 시스템을 구축하였다. 끝으로 서비스에 포함된 수행 결과인 웹기반 인터페이스를 기술하고, 통합 관리 시스템을 구현하기 위해 인덱스 뷰를 사용한 효과성을 보인다.

Chronic cough is a common problem that can be refractory to medical treatment. Nonpharmaceutical management of chronic cough has an important role in well selected patients. This review article outlines the history of chronic cough management, current approaches to speech pathology management of the condition and new modalities of nonpharmaceutical treatment. There is a need for further research into nonpharmaceutical options with well described randomised control trials.

In this paper, we propose an educational system that involves a business game simulator and related curriculum. To develop these two elements, we examined the decision-making process related to business management and identified some significant skills thereby. In addition, we created an original simulator, named BizLator (http://bizlator.com), to help students develop these skills efficiently. Next, we developed a curriculum suitable for the simulator. We confirmed the effectiveness of the simulator and curriculum in a business-game-based class at Aoyama Gakuin University in Tokyo. On the basis of this, we compared our education system with a conventional system. This allowed us to identify advantages of and issues with our proposed system. Furthermore, we proposed a speech recognition support system named BizVoice in order to provide the teachers with more meaningful feedback, such as level of students' understanding. Concretely, BizVocie fetches students' speech of discussion during the game and converts the voice data to text data with speech recognition technology. Finally, teachers can grasp students' parameters of understanding, and thereby, the students also can take more effective class using BizLator. We also confirmed the effectiveness of the system in the class of Aoyama Gakuin Universiry.

In this paper, we used image information for the enhancement of Korean numeral speech recognition. First, a noisy environment was made by Gaussian generator at each 10 dB level and the generated signal was added to original Korean numeral speech. And then, the speech was analyzed to recognize Korean numeral speech. Speech through microphone was pre-emphasized with 0.95, Hamming window, autocorrelation and LPC analysis was used. Second, the image obtained by camera, was converted to gray level, autocorrelated, and analyzed using LPC algorithm, to which was applied in speech analysis, Finally, the Korean numerial speech recognition with image information was more ehnanced than speech-only, especially in ‘3’, ‘5’and ‘9’. As the same LPC algorithm and simple image management was used, additional computation a1gorithm like a filtering was not used, a total speech recognition algorithm was made simple.

스피치 요약을 생성하는데 있어서 두 가지 중요한 측면은 스피치에서 핵심 내용을 추출하는 것과 추출한 내용을 효과적으로 표현하는 것이다. 본 연구는 강의 자료의 스피치 요약의 자동 생성을 위해서 스피치 자막이 없는 경우에도 적용할 수 있는 스피치의 음향학적 자질 즉, 스피치의 속도, 피치(소리의 높낮이) 및 강도(소리의 세기)의 세 가지 요인을 이용하여 스피치 요약을 생성할 수 있는지 분석하고, 이 중 가장 효율적으로 이용할 수 있는 요인이 무엇인지 조사하였다. 조사 결과, 강도(최대값 dB과 최소값 dB간의 차이)가 가장 효율적인 요인으로 확인되었다. 이러한 강도를 이용한 방식의 효율성과 특성을 조사하기 위해서 이 방식과 본문 키워드 방식간의 차이를 요약문의 품질 측면에서 분석하고, 이 두 방식에 의해서 각 세그먼트(문장)에 할당된 가중치간의 관계를 분석해 보았다. 그런 다음 추출된 스피치의 핵심 세그먼트를 오디오 또는 텍스트 형태로 표현했을 때 어떤 특성이 있는지 이용자 관점에서 분석해 봄으로써 음향학적 특성을 이용한 스피치 요약을 효율적으로 추출하여 표현하는 방안을 제안하였다.

화행은 화자의 의도를 내포하기 때문에 지능형 대화 시스템을 구현할 때 화행 분석은 필수적이다. 본 논문에서는 효과적인 화행 분석을 위한 2단계 모델을 제안한다. 첫 번째 단계에서 기계 학습 기반의 신경망 모델과 확률 기반의 예측도 모델을 이용하여 개별적으로 화행 후보를 생성한다. 두 번째 단계에서는 신경망 모델이 출력한 화행 후보들을 예측도 모델이 출력한 화행 후보들로 필터링한 후, 남겨진 후보들 중에서 최대값을 가지는 화행을 선택한다. 일정관리 영역에서의 실험 결과, 제안한 2단계 모델링 방법이 기계 학습 모델이나 확률 모델만을 사용하는 기존의 방법들보다 좋은 성능을 보였다.

Team approach for the management of cleft lip & palate patients is very important. Plastic surgeon, oral-maxillofacial surgeon, orthodontist, otolaryngologist, and speech therapist should be included in the team. Main role of the ENT surgeon may be variable and is up to the team characteristics. Main topics of ENT surgeons' interesting fields are evaluation and management of hearing impairment due to SOM, voice disorder, and velopharyngeal incompetency due to submucous cleft palate & still remained VPI after curative palatoplasty. Basic review of anatomy & physiology related with otolaryngologic aspect of velopharyngeal system was done. Diseases related with hyponasality as well as hypernasality were discussed. Diagnostic and therapeutic methods were discussed. Proper management of hearing impairment and speech disorders are important.
