  • In this paper, the workability and static stability were evaluated using a proposed test method. Workability and static stability represent a key property of self-compacting concrete (SCC) in fresh state. A number of standardized test methods were developed to assess these properties. However, no accelerated test method reliably predicts both workability and static stability of SCC. In the present work, a modified K-slump test method was developed to evaluate workability and static stability of SCC. In order to take implicit mixture variations of SCC constituents that can affect fresh SCC properties, a central composite design was adopted to highlight the effect of gravel to sand ratio (G/S), gravel 3/8 to gravel 8/15 ratio (G1/G2), water to cement ratio (W/C), marble powder to cement ratio (MP/C) and superplasticizer content (SP) on workability measured with slump and flow time (T50) tests and static stability measured with sieve stability test (Pi), segregation test index (SSI), Penetration test (Pd) and the proposed K-slump test (Km). The obtained results show that G/S ratio close to 1 and G1/G2 ratio close to 60% can be considered as optimal values to achieve a good workability while ensuring a sufficient static stability of SCC. Acceptable relationships were obtained between Slump flow, Pi, Pd and Km. Results show that the proposed K-slump test allow to assess both workability and static stability of fresh SCC mixtures.

  • Armed aircraft of a basic trainer class installs external stores under wing box by using pylon and performs an operation such as weapon delivery and jettison, and should be designed to withstand all kinds of loads applied to external stores. The static strength test of pylons and wing box was performed to assess the static strength of pylon and their support structures for substantiation. Based on the test, the structures were verified to fully satisfy a given design requirement. In this paper, methods of test load generation of wing box and pylon, evaluation of test result data and design result of test set-up were presented. Comparing the FEM analysis with the same test data can lead to good match and reasonable deviation between both. Finally, based on the test and the analysis, the static strength of test article was substantiated and the reliability and effectiveness of analysis math model were obtained.

  • Pressurization test is usually required in aircraft full-scale static test. There are several test conditions including pressurization of cockpit, fuselage fuel tank, air inlet duct for T-50 full-scale static test. In this paper, the test conditions, equipment, piping analysis for the pressurization test are introduced. Tank simulation test is performed to verify the validity of piping analysis and to find good tuning parameters for the pressurization channel in the servo controller. Several test setup for pressurization of T-50 test is introduced. Test article volume is filled by form, $60%{\sim}80%$ volume is reduced for the T-50 full-scale static test. Pressurization system is connected to servo controller which also controls hydraulic actuator. Load and pressure control is synchronized by using the same servo controller during T-50 test. Typical control result for pressurization test condition is shown. Pressurization tests of T-50 full-scale static test was completed successfully.

  • When the aircraft is developed, several flight tests are performed including stability and controllability, performance and systems, above all the most important part of the flight test is stability test. Stability test is divided into two parts, static stability and dynamic stability. Static stability of the aircraft is typically defined in terms of its initial tendency to return to equilibrium after a disturbance and not included time concept. One of static stability, longitudinal static stability, was addressed here. The longitudinal static stability was studied from the basic theory to the flight test method and also explained data reduction method throughout the flight test. Finally showed how to meet the specifications such as ROC, FAR and MIL-specifications.

  • Numerical analysis method for prediction of pile behaviour characteristics has widely been used in detail design process before construction because field static loading test requires high cost. However, the reliability verification of numerical analysis of result is not permitted compare with field test. In this study, to verify the numerical analysis results, pile behaviour prediction was compared with field static loading test results. For exact analysis of interaction between pile and ground, soil investigation and in-situ test such as boring, SPT and bore-hole shear test were performed before pile static loading test. During the static loading test, pile behaviour characteristics were analyzed under every loading condition. After static pile loading test, numerical analysis was carried out under same condition with static pile loading test. In the numerical analysis, to apply same loading condition with each loading condition in the field test and to compare with between the results of numerical analysis, the field test results for reliability were verified with the results of numerical analysis.

  • For aviation sensor pod, structural integrity should be verified through static structural tests for flight loads induced in various maneuvering conditions of the aircraft. For this, it is necessary to develop a test system for full-scale static load test of sensor pod. Based on test requirements, this paper introduced a test system configuration of the static test and the development of test structure frame, restraints equipment, loading equipment, control, and measurement equipment. In addition, methods and procedures for verifying the developed test system were explained. In conclusion, the static load test and data acquisition were successfully performed. Reliability of the test equipment was also verified in the process.

  • In this study, a method for updating the finite element model of bridges with genetic algorithm using static displacement were presented, and verified this method using field test data for PSC girder bridge. As a field test, static load test and pseudo-static load test were conducted, and updated the finite element model of test bridge using each test data. Finally, evaluated the bridge load carrying capacity with updated model using pseudo-static load test's displacement data. To evaluate the bridge load carrying capacity, KHBDC-LSD, KHBDC and AASHTO LRFD's live load model were used, and compared the each results.

  • Background: The purpose of present study was to examine the effect of ultrasound therapy and static stretching on hamstring length and balance. Design: Randomized Controlled Trial. Methods: A total of 30 adults in S college, Seongnam city, Gyeonggi-do, between the ages of 20-30 were randomly assigned to two groups. Group 1 (n=15) had ultrasound therapy, called US group. Group 2 (n=15) had static stretching, called SS group. Measurements were taken prior to starting the program and after completing the experiment using Finger to floor test and Active knee extension test to get the results of hamstring flexibility and the ability of static balance. Paired t-test was used to compare each group pre-test values to post-test values and to compare US post-test values to SS post-test values on PASW 18.0. Results: 1) Both hamstring SS group and US group had significant increase (p<.05) in Finger to floor test and Active knee extension test. 2) Dominant leg standing had significant change (p<.05) only in US group. 3) There was no significant difference between US group and SS group. Conclusion: Results showed that US group and SS group had an effect on changes in hamstring length (p<.05). However, they did not show a significant increase in static balance. Further effective studies on hamstring SS group and US group were needed based on this examination.

  • This paper presents the experimental study of the static stiffness for the BT shank(7/24 long taper) and the HSK tool shank(1/10 short taper) in the main spindle taper of machine tool. The static stif71ess test was performed under different experimental conditions. It is turned out that the effective axial drawing force is larger than 6kN in the 7/24 test tool shank and BkN in the 1/10 test tool shank. As a test result, considering that the actual drawing force of the machining center is about 1300k2f and axal drawing force 12kN is equivalent amount as a 1220kgf, it is turned out that 1/10 test tool shank superior to 7/24 test tool shank in the static stiffness.
