In this paper, we establish some results on strong convergence for weighted sums of uniformly integrable fuzzy random variables taking values in the space of upper-semicontinuous fuzzy sets in R$^{p}$.

Arbitration clauses or institutional arbitration rules rarely, if ever, specify the law applicable to the arbitration agreement. A wide range of laws may thus govern this question, such as the law at the place of arbitration, the law where the agreement or the award is enforced or the law of the main contract between the parties. It is also conceivable that international uniform law or soft law may play a role. Tribunals and courts seized with this question must consequently decide which of these various laws shall apply to verify the existence and validity of the arbitration agreement. This paper picks up on this controversially debated conflict of laws issue. At times, this debate is characterized by a strong divide between arbitration and international trade law practitioners. But are the different approaches really leading to diverging results in arbitral practice?

Let {$X_{ni}$ | $1{\leq}i{\leq}n,\;n{\geq}1$} be an array of rowwise negatively dependent (ND) random variables. We in this paper discuss the conditions of ${\sum}^n_{t=1}a_{ni}X_{ni}{\rightarrow}0$ completely as $n{\rightarrow}{\infty}$ under not necessarily identically distributed setting and the strong law of large numbers for weighted sums of arrays of rowwise negatively dependent random variables is also considered.

For double arrays of constants ${a_{ni},\;1{\leq}i{\leq}k_n,\;n{\geq}1}$ and sequences of negatively orthant dependent random variables ${X_n,\;n{\geq}1}$, the conditions for strong law of large number of ${\sum}^{k_n}_{i=1}a_{ni}X_i$ are given. Both cases $k_n{\uparrow}{\infty}\;and\;k_n={\infty}$ are treated.

In this paper we obtain strong laws of large numbers for 2-dimensional arrays of random variables which are either pairwise positive quadrant dependent or associated. Our results imply extensions of Etemadi`s strong laws of large numbers for nonnegative random variables to the 2-dimensional case.

In this work we investigate the power of power law in the VoD service over IP network. Especially, we show that the power of power law is strong in the location of the contents storage for the VoD service and its impact on the link dimensioning. This work first shows the instance of the power law in the popularity of the video contents from the real data for the IPTV service. After that we propose an analytic model that characterizes the behavior of customers in accessing the video servers as well as the power law in the viewing pattern. Finally, we show the impact of the power law by proposing a model for the cost as well as link dimensioning. Via numerical experiment we show the implication of the proposition.

In this paper, we look at the relationship between international trade and the rule of law, using the World Justice Project Rule of Law Index, which include index figures on human rights, limits on government powers, transparency and regulatory efficiency. Based on regression analyses using the rule of law index figures and international trade figures (merchandise trade, service trade, exports and imports as percentage of GDP,) international trade and basic human rights seem to have little relationship; but trade has a close positive relationship with strong order and security. Somewhat surprisingly, regulatory transparency and effective implementation seems to have little or no effect on international trade and vice versa. International trade shows a clear positive relationship with the country's criminal justice system, but the relationship with the civil justice system is not as clear as such. For regulatory implementation and civil justice, services trade positively affect these institutions, but these institutions in turn affect exports more strongly than services trade. Finally, the effect of trade on rule of law is stronger on a medium to long term (10-20 year) time horizon.

This paper concerns with the consistent estimator for the fuzzy expectation of a random variable taking values in the space F($R^p$) of upper semicontinuous convex fuzzy subsets of $R^p$ with compact support. We introduce the concept of a fuzzy sample mean and show that the fuzzy sample mean is a strong consistent estimator for the fuzzy expectation. Some examples are given to illustrate the main result.
