  • Conventional depth extraction in integral imaging is based on the disparity information between the elemental images. Since the disparity is measured in pixel unit, however, the extracted depth is discrete, resulting in the quantization error. Moreover, the quantization error grows as the object depth increases, which limits the accuracy of the depth extraction for distant objects. In this paper, we propose a new method for depth extraction in integral imaging using sub-pixel registration information between subimages to obtain linear and accurate depth.

  • In this paper, we propose a new super-resolution algorithm that uses successive frames by applying the block matching motion estimation algorithm. Usually, single frame super-resolution algorithms are based on probability or discrete wavelet transform (DWT) approach to extract high-frequency components of the input image, but only limited information is available for these algorithms. To solve this problem, various multiple-frame based super-resolution algorithms are proposed. The accuracy of registration between frames is a very important factor for the good performance of an algorithm. We therefore propose an algorithm using 6-Tap FIR filter to increase the accuracy of the image registration with sub-pixel unit. Proposed algorithm shows better performance than other conventional interpolation based algorithms such as nearest neighborhood, bi-linear and bi-cubic methods and results in about the same image quality as DWT based super-resolution algorithm.

  • In this paper, a new super-resolution algorithm is proposed by using successive frames for generating high-resolution frames with better quality than those generated by other conventional interpolation methods. Generally, each frame used for super-resolution must only have global translation and motions of sub-pixel unit to generate good result. However, the newly proposed MSR algorithm in this paper is exempt from such constraints. The proposed algorithm consists of three main processes; motion estimation for image registration, normalization of motion vectors, and pattern analysis of edges. The experimental results show that the proposed algorithm has better performance than other conventional algorithms.

  • In this paper, we propose the fast hi-linear interpolation method for SR reconstruction. This method reconstructs the HR image rapidity by considering motion vector information for each LR input image. And its calculation used normalized deviation of image data. As using the motion vector information which is obtained at registration error checking process, this proposed can be achieved the fast and simple SR reconstructed image.

  • The application of the aerial images are to find the 3-D elevations. Image matching techniques such as Multi-resolution techniques, WCC (Weighted Cross-Correlation), NSSR (Narrow Search Sub-pixel Registration) that we know robustly apply to images which have enough features. But the method is not adaptive in images which have not enough features due to increasing of disparity errors. In this paper, we propose Disparity Interpolation that decrease disparity errors occurring in the area where images have not enough features. By using real aerial images we compare the result from existing image matching techniques to the result from proposed method.

  • This paper proposes a motion estimation-based super resolution algorithm to restore input low-resolution images of large movement into a super-resolution image. It is difficult to find the sub-pixel motion estimation in images of large movement compared to typical experimental images. Also, it has disadvantage which have high computational complexity to find reference images and candidate images using general motion estimation method. In order to solve these problems for the traditional two-dimensional motion estimation using the proposed registration threshold that satisfy the conditions based on the reference image is determined. Candidate image with minimum weight among the best candidates for super resolution images, the restoration process to proceed with to find a new image registration algorithm is proposed. According to experimental results, the average PSNR of the proposed algorithm is 31.89dB and this is better than PSNR of traditional super-resolution algorithm and it also shows improvement of computational complexity.

  • We propose a new method of masking cloud-affected pixels in satellite ocean color imageries such as of GLI. Those pixels, mostly found around cloud pixels or in scattered cloud area, have anomalous features in either in chlorophyll-a estimate or in water reflectance. This artifact is most likely caused by residual error of inter-band registration correction. Our method is to check the pixel-wise 'soundness' of the spectral water reflectance Rw retrieved after the atmospheric correction. First, we define two spectral ratio between water reflectance, IRR1 and IRR2, each defined as RW(B1)/RW (B3) RW (B3) and as RW (B2)/RW(B4) respectively, where $B1{\sim}B4$ stand for 4 consecutive visible bands. We show that an almost linear relation holds over log-scaled IRR1 and IRR2 for shipmeasured RW data of SeaBAM in situ data set and for GLI cloud-free Level 2 sub-scenes. The method we propose is to utilize this nature, identifying those pixels that show significant discrepancy from that relationship. We apply this method to ADEOS-II/GLI ocean color data to evaluate the performance over Level-2 data, which includes different water types such as case 1, turbid case 2 and coccolithophore bloom waters.

  • In this paper, It propose a new restoration algorithm of high resolution, which is reconstructed to high resolution image using low resolution image informations. The proposed algorithm is constructed based on super resolution theory, it is consisted of progressive steps of the integration and construction. It reduced a lot of data-processing capacity and noise with integration through sub-pixel movement and wavelet basis through a higher resolution. As a result, it is shown that the main information is maintained and the error rate is improved. Using expansion fuzzy wavelet B-spline interpolation in stage of construction, it is confirmed that we can achieve smoothing image and good resolution without blur and block.

  • GOCI the world first Ocean Color Imager in Geostationary Orbit, which could obtain total 8 images of the same region a day, however, its spatial resolution(500m) is not enough to use for the accurate land application, Super Resolution(SR), reconstructing the high resolution(HR) image from multiple low resolution(LR) images introduced by computer vision field. could be applied to the time-series remotely sensed images such as GOCI data, and the higher resolution image could be reconstructed from multiple images by the SR, and also the cloud masked area of images could be recovered. As the precedent study for developing the efficient SR method for GOCI images, on this research, it reproduced the simulated data under the acquisition process of the remote sensed data, and then the simulated images arc applied to the proposed algorithm. From the proposed algorithm result of the simulated data, it turned out that low resolution(LR) images could be registered in sub-pixel accuracy, and the reconstructed HR image including RMSE, PSNR, SSIM Index value compared with original HR image were 0.5763, 52.9183 db, 0.9486, could be obtained.
