A study of Relationships Mother-in-low and Danghter-in-Law As Portrayed in Korean Folk Song (한국민요에 나타난 고부관계 연구)

  • This study is a thesis of the relationship between mother-in-law and daughter-in-law in a family based on the Korean family system. This is done by analysing how the traditional social system and the style of living are reflected in korean folk songs. This I believe is a necessity in order to understand the emotions and ideas of the word 'family' of Korea and to improve the state of the relations between mother-in-law and her daughter-in-law. I have divided this into 4 essential study points. First the family system illustrated in korean folk songs are mainly father centered family system. It caused a male-oriented society and women's subordination. Second, the relationship between mother-in-law and her daughter-in-law illustrated in folk songs are mostly vertical subordinate. This is easily described as a lord and servant relationship. Third the state of relationship reflected in the folk songs from a daughter-in-law's point of view is obedience to her husband's family nostal ia to her family desperation and opposition. Lastly the state of relationship from mother in law's point of view are discord cruel treatment the rule and power which herself carry.

  • The 'One Belt One Road (OBOR)' initiative, which was promulgated as part of the enlargement policy along with the advent of Xi Jinping in 2013, is a policy to expand China's political and economic power externally through linkages with neighboring countries. China's overseas port investment plays an important role in the promotion of the 'OBOR' policy from the coast of China through maritime transportation routes from S.E Asia to Mediterranean and Europe. Since China's overseas port investment has been made from several factors such as political, economic, and military motives, it differs in purpose and character from investments made by private companies, such as Global Port Operators(GTO) which consider profitability first. This study aims to address future prospects and implications by analyzing the geopolitics of China's overseas port investment under the 'One Belt One Road' initiative. According to the results, China's overseas port investment is dominated by state-owned enterprises and political and security factors are more important than profitability. China's overseas port investment has been on a large scale in a short period of time, and China has faced with various problems both domestically and internationally. such as debt default, environmental problems, subordination problems from recipient countries and political and military confrontation with great countries such as United States, Japan and India etc.

  • In order to overturn the exclusion of Korean schools from the newly implemented free tuition program (2010) as part of sanctions against North Korea, members of Korean schools and Japanese supporters have focused on "students' innocence" and "multicultural coexistence" as viable frameworks to explain why the students are sympathetic and legitimate subjects who deserve equal rights. Examining different political strategies employed by the Korean schools and their supporters through ethnography and media analysis, the article pays close attention to how they claim their eligibility for these rights while they negotiate state surveillance and intervention in the process. I argue that in their efforts to gain recognition as deserving and sympathetic subjects, Korean schools are trapped in what political theorist Patchen Markell calls a "permanent temptation" in pursuing "recognition." Anti-North Korea sentiments in Japan have made the desire for good recognition even more urgent among Korean school community members. The paper will demonstrate that the search for recognition unwittingly reinforces and perpetuates existing relations of subordination and state dominance over their education as it has forced the Korean schools to accept various "conditions" that would radically alter the core principle, mission, and pedagogy of Korean school education that is rooted in decolonizing theory and praxis. This paper will shed lights on dilemma of multicultural coexistence the Korean minority population faces in Japan today.

The Effect of Hospital Employees' Job Stress Factors on the Turnover Intention : Focused on the Daejeon Metropolitan City (의료기관 종사자의 직무스트레스 요인이 이직의도에 미치는 영향 : 대전지역 병원 중심으로)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze job stress factors of hospital workers, which has an effect on their turnover intention. For identifying the influences on turnover intention, types of hospitals (university hospital, general hospital, private hospital) and types of workers(office workers, technical workers, and nursing staffs) were categorized. We went to the hospitals and carried out the survey under the cooperation with the concerned hospitals. The period of survey was from 23. Sep. 2013 to 30. Oct. 2013, and 293 worker participated in the survey. On the basis of the previous study, the measurement of job stress factors and turnover intention was set up as the survey method, and its reliability and validity were measured. The stress factors were subdivided into seven factors; occupational climate, organizational system, autonomy job control, uncertainty of getting a new job, job ability to perform, job demand, job ambiance. The value of job stress factors by the measuring instrument, Cronbach's Alpha, was 0.805 and the value of the subordination variable of turnover intention was 0.881. IBM SPSS Statistics 21 was used as the statistic analysis tool and the descriptive statistics about job stress factors. As a result, the turnover intention were analyzed depending on the types of hospitals, job groups, working years, and gender. Result shows that the job stress factors are differed according to the types of hospitals, and these job stress factors have influence on turnover intention. Therefore, it could be considered that, if the hospital managers find out the major job stress factors of their employees and resolve them in advance, the job stress of the hospital workers and their turnover intention can be reduced.

  • In this paper, we suggest the model how to evaluate the job level of the member of Nong-Hyup branch, using fuzzy subordination relation by estimating the relationship of criteria and eigenvector method. The criteria for the evaluation of job levels are divided into two groups, that is, the job group to do in Nong-Hyup and the Job demanding details group that is needed to do this job. The study method used adding weight on the job group and the present level, the itemized weight about job demanding details and the present level, the relationship the job group and the job demanding details. This paper shows that there is room for improvement in the present evaluation method, which regards the job level of each branch as equal, evaluates each branch and ranks. Therefore we will expect to utilize it a lot when the Nong-Hyup and the branchs and places of like this company are estimated.

Stereotype Femininity Expressed in Fashion Illustration (패션 일러스트레이션에 표현된 스테레오타입 여성성)

  • This study analyzes the stereotyped femininity with a focus on body codes, which has been continuously expressed in fashion illustrations from the late $19^{th}$ century to the year 2010, and examines the changes in its meaning. Stereotyped femininity was reorganized by the changes in female sex role effected by social changes, as well as by the body discourse and feminism in the late $20^{th}$ century, These socio-cultural backgrounds led to the change in the meaning of stereotyped women expressed in fashion illustrations. The stereotyped women in fashion illustrations are characterized by gender-oriented body, and the typical image of women was reproduced with the marks of poses and looks that feature passiveness and subordination. Then, the gender-oriented body since 1990's shifted to active meaning that positively revealed sexual desire. The space positioned by women is also the symbol of gender. In line with changes over time, the backgrounds in fashion illustrations have changed from private space such as home and nature to public space such as city, which reflects diversification and expansion of space for women. This study has identified the changes in meaning, based on the analysis of the characteristics of stereotyped women expressed in fashion illustrations. Above all, women who were objectified as a subject by dominant discourse have established the concept of active body as an entity. In addition, the symbol of typical femininity is "slim" and "beauty", which reflects the change from the emphasis on childbirth-related femininity to self-control and conquer. On the other hand, the typical features expressed through body have reproduced dichotomous structure, but the emergence of body and background deviated from gender has reorganized the symbolic order of gender.

Syntaxonomical Reconsideration of the Rosetalia rugosae (해당화군목의 군락분류학적 재고)

  • A phytosociological study on the hierarchical classification system of the Rosetalia rugosae, developed at the coastal dunes in the cool-temperate region of Northeast Asia, was carried out. Currently, the Rosetalia rugosae is subordinated to the Rosetea multiflorae which is the highest rank of the mantle vegetation in Northeast Asia, however its hierarchical system is somewhat ambiguous. This study was accomplished by using the syntaxa and hierarchical system of the Rosetalia rugosae and Rosetea multiflorae, and by also using 197 homogeneous relevns of the Rosetalia rugosae in South Korea and Japan in terms of the Zbrich-Montpellier School. For the hierarchical analysis of the Rosetalia rugosae, the constancy, the frequency and the net contribution degree were evaluated. It is estimated that the Rosetalia rugosae and the Rosetea multiflorae are hardly related to reciprocally. Thus, the subordination of the Rosetalia rugosae to the Rosetea multiflorae is comparatively irrational. Accordingly, the syntaxonomical hierarchy of the Rosetalia rugosae must be reconsidered that is correspond to the Viticetea rotundifoliae of the warm-temperate coastal dune shrub vegetation.

Deformation and Hybridization of the Romantic Style in Modern Fashion (현대패션에 나타난 낭만주의 양식의 변형과 혼성)

  • The goal of this dissertation is to analyze various Romantic styles appearing in modern fashion based upon the 'Difference' theory developed by Gilles Deleuze. A new framework for analyzing the changes of dress style based upon the 'Difference' theory derived from Deleuze's theory and from his interpretations of paintings was developed. The characteristics that represent 'difference' in change of dress style are deformation and hybridization. They are derived from the Deleuze's interpretations of 'difference' represented in the paintings by Bacon. The aesthetic values of the Romantic style in the 19th century dress are subordination, sensuality, and maternity. And the formative characteristics of the Romantic style dress are suppression of body, fixed form, volume, and ornamentation. The formative characteristics of the Romantic style that have appeared since 1980s is analyzed according to deformation and hybridization and the results are as follows: first, deformation caused by exaggeration or emphasis in the modern Romantic fashion creates changeability of the form, destruction of the 19th century style, volume, and ornamentation. Second, hybridization by combining heterogeneous characteristic between times and genders (for example, the 19th century and modern times or masculinity and femininity) frees body from the dress and changes the dress silhouettes and ornamentation. Thus totally new and different Romantic style is created. The Romantic style in modern fashion changed into the appropriate style to the modern society under various conditions such as designer's will, postmodernism, changes of femininity and technology. It can be said that this is an example of the Deleuze's 'becoming' theory.

Hegemonic Masculinity in Disney Animated Films (디즈니 애니메이션에 나타난 헤게모니적 남성성)

  • The purpose of this paper is to explore the hegemonic masculinity in Disney animated feature films in terms of Antonio Gramsci's hegemony and R. W. Connell's hegemonic masculinity. According to Gramsci, hegemony refers to the predominance of a dominant group over other groups. By the same token, Connell uses the term hegemony as the configuration of gender practice which embodies the domination of men and the subordination of women. He describes four masculinities to explore male hierarchy in male groups: hegemonic masculinity, subordinated masculinity, complicit masculinity, and marginalized masculinity. Through Connell's terms, this study investigates masculinities in Disney films, especially Beauty and the Beast (1991) in relation to hegemonic masculinity. As a result, Disney describes repeatedly hegemonic masculinity as hard body defined by Susan Jeffords and supports tacitly the domination of a specific male group.
