  • Any place where exercise is common, such as a club, sports hall, or school, is considered a place for teaching sports. When doing sports, a very safe environment for sports should be chosen. The athlete should consider the safety of sports facilities and equipment, and if there is a defect, he should refrain from exercising in these places. The safety of sports facilities is very effective in creating people's sports activities, with the benefits of staying away from physical harm, enjoying sports, and having mental peace. Everyone has the right to participate in sports and recreation and to ensure that they enjoy a safe environment. The ability to manage and solve issues that may arise plays the most critical role in creating a safe environment. The quality of construction materials used for the construction of sports facilities is of great importance. In this work, the resistance and water repellency of concrete constituents for the construction of sports buildings have been investigated by nanoscience. Nano-concrete material solves the main problem of concrete surfaces, i.e., the entry of water and humidity into the structure. It also gives it a self-cleaning ability with its water repellency. Nanoparticles are placed between pores and cover the cracks, which causes roughness in the surface structure of concrete. The high roughness of the surface of the coated concrete caused its super-hydrophobicity. In hydrophobic surfaces, the higher the contact angle, the more hydrophobic the surface will be. In order to investigate the hydrophobic properties, silica nanoparticles, silica nanoparticles, and fly ash were prepared on concrete, and their properties were analyzed.

  • After oral administration of various drinking solutions, the initial absorption rate of water through gastrointestinal tract of the rabbits was evaluated using tritinated water $(^3H_2O)$ as a marker to develop the sports drinking beverage for Korean people. The polynomial curve fitting over 20 min was performed using computer program to obtain the initial absorption rate of water from the tangent line of the fitted equation because initial absorption rate of water was more critical compared to elimination rate during exercise. The amount of water absorbed was increased but a large variation was observed among testing preparations in a small study group $(2{\leq}n{\leq}6)$. The initial absorption rate of water from isotonic sports drinking beverages was statistically significant when compared to hypertonic cola but was not significant when compared to hypotonic solutions (potable water and barley water). In case of hypertonic sports dringking beverages (i.e. Takeda), initial absorption rate of water was not improved and efficient when compared to other isotonic sports dringking beverages. The initial absorption rate of water from prescribed isotonic sample solution containing electrolytes, carbohydrates, and vitamins was not statistically significant when compared to other isotonic drinking beverages but showed similar absorption profile. It was obvious that isotonic solutions simultaneously containing electrolytes, vitamins and carbohydrates (sugar and glucose) had a tendency to increase the initial absorption of water compared to hypotonic (potable water and barley water) and hypertonic preparations (orange juice and cola). Although statistical significance of initial absorption rate of water between isotonic sports drinking beverages and hypotonic potable and barley water was not observed, unlike the hypertonic solutions, isotonic sports drinking beverages may aid not only to replenish loss of water, electrolytes and other nutrients during the exercise but also to prevent dehydration and muscle fatigue, resulting in improved physical performance in an exhausted condition.

  • It is expected to continue to increase the number of people who enjoy marine and water sports due to the increase of leisure time because of income increase, the five-day workweek, etc. However, in the safety awareness, the development of equipment is just in the early stage. Established system for fundraising is required for Korean marine and water sports to be developed first. Should the fund be spent on the safety and development of domestic equipment for marine and water sports, it would make for a safer and more enjoyable sports for the people. The profit return measures of motor boat race, among marine and water sports, are surveyed and analyzed to suggest the measures stated above. Japanese legal structure and the profit return measures on motor boat race, which are about 60 years ahead than Korean systems, were analyzed and led to suggest the establishment of professional institutions which promote motor boat, etc. and the legal improvement for funding.
